From what I see, she has the skillset and she's respected my current herbalist. I had infectious disease and was in a level of hell I can't describe here. For ease, I will call it Lyme disease, though I dislike the term. I prefer Gu Syndrome. I had dreadful sweats and chills and a ton of pain and symptoms that are unfathomable to most. She put a bunch of acupuncture needles in and left me on my back for what seemed like an eternity. I felt so trapped, and I couldn't move. I just wanted the needles out. I get acupuncture a lot now and had been treated with acu by a chiropractor who was fresh out of school in the 1990s before Dr. Ambrose. I didn't expect to feel this horrible. In fact, I had moxibustion from the chiropractor. My point is that I was no stranger to acupuncture. As I sat and waited for Dr. Ambrose, I wished that anyone would check in on me. I wanted to scream and had dreadful sweating with chills as I waited. I was in fight or flight. She created an adrenaline reaction. When she came back in, I told her about what I had experienced. She said, "That's what I wanted to do." Let me be clear here. I think she meant that she wanted to prompt the endocrine system to function. But I was in a bad state. The words I needed to hear were, "I'm so sorry. I had hoped to help your adrenals, and I wish I had come back in to check on you." There was no understanding of my condition. In fact, she didn't take a thorough history, which is why she missed my diagnoses. The other things she did was to give me a homeopathic with little instruction and Mediclear, which was a detox product. The latter made me so sick. And it wasn't cheap. Waste of time and money. After her, I saw another N.D. It wasn't as bad, because the person was talented with bodywork. I can't share more about that here, but suffice to say that I felt that natural medicine had let me down. Thus, I proceeded with allopathic medicine, and it was horrible. I lost years of my life. It's hard to get treatment for a disease or diseases that no one really can see. So maddening! Flash forward many years. I ended up in a great herbalist's office who saved my life. Choose carefully when you go to an ND or any provider. If that person doesn't work out, it's likely not the profession. It's the provider. I hope Dr. Ambrose improved, but I'd never send a patient who was struggling hard with infectious disease to her. And if I did, I'd caution them to provide a thorough history and to have a backup ready. I feel so sad that I lost so many years of my life, because the providers I chose, who should have been capable, didn't do any better than their counterparts in the traditional allopathic field. They had a cookie-cutter approach. I'll give Dr. Ambrose that she didn't blame me. I can't say the same for some other alternative doctors and MDs. When doctors blame the patient, it's because they can't fix the problem. It's convenient to blame the patient at that time. I don't believe she ever would have blamed me, but that's just my take. I wish all patients well, but if you have Lyme or infectious disease, you likely are going to benefit more from Dr. Heiner Fruehauf's approach. He is so kind and knowledgeable.

Unfortunately, after my PCP, Dr. Kara Crisp, left the practice, that level of care went downhill. I have seen multiple providers, and unless I agree to paying for an out-of-pocket test, some of which that have been questionable, they are uncertain about what to do. I have spent hours upon hours in appointments with really no answers, and while I do appreciate that each provider takes time to speak with me, getting a timely referral, or timely lab results, is something this clinic struggles with. Again, they used to be on top of it, so I am uncertain as to what has happened in the last few years. Recently, I requested a diagnostic test, and after a lot of back and forth, I finally had one scheduled. Unfortunately, the authorization number that was given had expired, and no one in the office knew what happened, and they kept passing the blame onto someone else, delaying and inevitably forcing me to cancel said test, unless I wanted to pay out of pocket, which would have been quite costly without insurance. The receptionist, who regularly laughs at clients whenever they ask a simple question, was also quite abrasive and unprofessional. When I had made a complaint to the office manager, the blame kept being passed onto others, which seems to be a reoccurring theme with this practice. There is 0 accountability, and one of the reasons I am giving this place 3 stars is due to how lovely the clinic's environment is. It is calming, welcoming, and a stark difference from that of a western medicine doctor's office. I am also giving 3 stars, because I truly did like my providers, but I feel like the office staff could have been more supportive of them, taken on more responsibilities, and could have had more clear communication. Something that had been a reality when I first started with them back in 2019. Yes, I understand that each provider is essentially an independent contractor renting out office space, but that's a poor excuse for not supporting them and not taking on the responsibilities other doctors' offices front staff typically take on.

I had chiropractic treatments 25 years ago for sciatica in NH, and my leg pain symptoms after the accident felt similar. I want to highly recommend this clinic and all the staff who treated me. Dr. Chris Johnson, the chiropractor, is very skilled, sought to thoroughly understand my needs, was very clear in his explanations and helped me tremendously. His physical therapist, Kate, is gentle, knowledgeable and effective. I tried acupuncture for the first time ever, and David the acupuncturist explained everything very well, alleviating my concerns; while I am not scared of needles, I was a bit wary. The treatment was very relaxing, mostly pain-free and I'm very glad I tried it. Finally, I must applaud my massage therapist, Faren, who seemed to work miracles. She was so booked up that I didn't get to see her until later in my course of treatment, and this week, on only the second massage appointment with me, found the "trigger spot" in my hip that seemed to finish the elimination of my pain. After my recent session with her I felt so much better, I was able to walk my dog again for half-mile intervals, sleep through the night with no drugs, and generally feel very close to being fully healed. Faren is extremely skilled and I can see why her schedule is full! I believe it was likely the combination of all these therapies that helped me, and I absolutely value all of their coordinated efforts. The front desk staff are the icing on this cake, as they are efficient, professional, friendly and extremely helpful. This was one of the best health care experiences I have ever had!
