MADE MY CARPEL TUNNEL PAIN DECREASE BY 97%! My right wrist and hand were in excruciating pain. I have a pinched nerve and cannot get into UCLA until 10/31. Could not take the pain anymore. My hands were falling asleep multiple times a day, and the pain at night was waking me up. Fingers were so numb you could cut one off and I would not feel it. It was EXCRUCIATING! I was miserable. Went into this clinic on Thursday, September 4th with low expectations, but I was hopeful. I am SO GLAD I went in. The pain is almost non-existent now. My hand still falls asleep if I have it in a certain position, but the night pain is gone. I was even getting pain just from sitting on the couch and watching TV. ALL GONE. Dr. Adachi knows what she is doing. She put needles in my hand, wrist and even in my foot where she said was the root of the problem. She even put some pulsing thing on my hand. For about an hour after I left I still had pain. Thought I wasted my time and was so bummed. But then - it disappeared. It has been 4 days and I am still pain free. I am going back in this week for another session and will continue to go in if the pain comes back until October when I can get a nerve induction test. I originally started seeing Dr Adachi for digestive issues but quickly learned I was pregnant. Unfortunately I had an early miscarriage but learned that Dr Adachi was a fertility specialist. Initially started going here with Dr. Lee but shortly after she retired and Dr. Naomi took over. I am terrified of needles but I was sooo tired of dealing with my menstrual cramps that I got over my fear and forced myself to find alternative treatment. I mentioned my fear and Dr. Naomi was very patient and gentle with me, even used the tiniest of needles. I went from having extremely heavy and painful periods with big clots that I had to use overnight pads along with super plus tampons and would sometimes still leak through in a matter of an hour. I haven't completed a review on yelp in a really long time but my recent experience at Nu Life Acupuncture has really impacted my life that I had to speak up and spread the good word. Reasons why I sought out an acupuncturist: 1. I was always exhausted ALL the time and I didn't have time during the work week for much other than work. It was hard even going to the gym because I was so dead tired. 2. I've always had painful cramps. 3. I developed this cystic acne after college. It didn't seem severe, as I only had 2 or 3 at any given time, but it was still nonetheless unsightly and embarrassing, and the scarring was awful! Results: After consistently attending my acupuncture appointments for about six months, I've significantly felt a change in such a positive and noticeable way that I consider it to be life-changing. My energy level has increased by leaps and bounds. My scars, previously red and required a coat of concealer, faded significantly due to my acu facials. My cramps have decreased as well. The acupuncturist, Mrs. Lee, is so sweet and caring and she's been a nurse for over 20 years so she has quite a bit of experience on the Western medicine side, balancing out her Eastern medicine practice. You can tell this clinic is her passion and she really cares about her patients, which is a difficult trait to find in health service providers. It seems that most service providers are more interested in squeezing the most money out of each patient in the shortest time period possible and not providing the level of personal attention that's necessary. Definitely NOT the case here....=) Lastly, I have to mention that my favorite part of the week is my acupuncture appointment. "Is it real? or is it all in your head as a placebo affect?" Honestly, I don't give a crap. I went to this doctor after going for 2 years of physical therapy for a work related injury I developed in 2005. (stretch yo hands regularly, foo! take breaks and make sure your desk is ergonomic!) My hand felt so much better after the pain created from a lot of typing recently. I was honestly skeptical that sticking pins into your body will make pain go away.. seriously, think about it - pins. in. your. body. =/= pain....? But really! the needles are sterile, and feel like a small pinch. And my hands felt better after 2 sessions, but I booked a 3rd just to make sure it was gone. Whether my hand is healed or not, I don't really care. The point is, my pain is gone, and that's something that hasn't happened with expensive physical therapy. Dr. Lee is the kindest, most patient and soft-spoken doctor I've ever been to, and she was really sweet with a full-session even after I was caught in traffic and came 15 mins late. Seriously, my regular doctors make ME wait 45 mins for 4.7mins of consultation. I know, I've timed. If you're skeptical, give it a try and see for yourself. Most important, keep an open mind. Not for the meek, as Dr. Lee is heavy handed with the needles. HOWEVER, I started seeing her Jan 2012 to help with getting pregnant, within a couple treatments/ less than a month my cycle started to normalIze. I got pregnant first week of July... At 36 years old. my hormones had been out of whack for about 5+ years, and she helped me get back to normal in less than 6 months. I'm guessing had I done herbs too, it would've been faster. Dr Lee combines Western medicine with Eastern medicine, for she is a trained registered nurse as well as earning her Phd in acupuncture. Dr Lee is extremely professional in her approach.
