I throughly enjoyed Orangetheory Fitness in Irvine this week. Coach Mel is incredibly motivating…read moreand knows exactly how to push you without ever making it feel overwhelming. The energy in the room is unreal, and the community here is truly second to none.

For years I have struggled committing to a fitness class, but Orangetheory checks all the boxes for…read moreme as someone who exercises irregularly but likes strength training but has a fear of going to the gym lol. First, I really appreciate that it's beginner friendly here while giving you the freedom to challenge yourself more if you want as you can always use heavier weights, get in more reps, run faster, row harder, etc. The class is an hour long and touches on strength, cardio, and endurance, making it perfect for losing weight/getting toned and getting in and out (ya feel). There is a healthy balance of station rotations (rowers, floor exercise, treadmills) where you have time to build familiarity at each while still getting to switch up your workouts. Everyday is different so it doesn't feel repetitive! The coaches do a great job of guiding you through each workout (also shown on screen) so you dont have to think (perfect for me). They start off each class briefly explaining what today's focus is before demoing how to do the workout. They are always available if you are ever lost or need help. Though it might be hard to follow the class at first, the familiarity with each class is what makes it easy to catch on eventually. I have had a class with almost every coach here and they are all great! They truly make my experience enjoyable. The only con is that Orangetheory membership/classes can be expensive, but they have deals sometimes so look out for those! Overall, I am very happy joining and committing to Orangetheory. I have learned so many different techniques from the classes. And for the first time I dont hate cardio because they make the exercises on the treadmill pretty fun! Thats a win for me!

Idk anyone who doesn't have a physical ailment. I explained I wanted to join this studio to improve my health. Management couldn't care less and sent me away. I am going to try a closer studio instead. This obviously isn't the place for me. Or anyone else who is disabled. *Update: now that I have raised awareness about an unfair practice, now management decides to call me. When I spoke to Rachel she could have cared less about my concerns as I did not want to lie and sign a contract that would state I'm in good health and do not have a disability or physical ailments, when I do. Management did not get on the phone then. So I do not care to return a call. I did not receive an email. I simply will take my business elsewhere. Different locations have different owners and the other locations do not at all discriminate or make you sign a contract that you are in good health when you are not. The point of physical activity I believe is to improve health no matter what stage you are in.

I explained that I only had Apple Pay, but she said they did not accept it. I asked if I could join the class and pay immediately afterward since I was already losing class time, but she refused and told me I could not participate unless I paid first. This level of customer service is not what I would expect. Additionally, charging $20 for a pair of socks feels excessive. The interaction was frustrating and left a very negative impression of the studio.

I have been working out with coach Norm for 6 months and he's my first personal trainer ever. I am…read moremoderately active and have only been doing walks and yoga regularly before. Let me tell you, his training changed my whole body! My body has transformed completely from a regular female body with not much strength in the upper body, to one that has muscle definition, energy and strength. Body changes: Belly before: a little pouch, kind of pudgy, but some core strength from yoga Belly after: smaller waist, OBLIQUES showing, lean and very strong core muscles Chest before: just lean, not much strength Chest after: visible nice looking layer of chest muscles that is not too much, still feminine and look strong and healthy like a celebrity Shoulders before: rounded, not very good posture, very normal looking Shoulders after: shoulder look leaner, more angular and look much better in clothes. I even have super defined muscles when I flex and it's crazy amazing! Arms before: slightly fat in the upper arm, probably have some hidden muscles to begin with Arms after: that layer of fat is replaced by strong muscle definition and they look so good and feel stronger Legs before: chubby and not too strong. I am built with more fat in this area Legs after: stronger quads and better looking calves! Unbelievable. It's not making me become someone with hot model legs but I look much better than before! Coach Norm is so kind, so compassionate, and most importantly, his workouts feel like checking in with my buddy. We joke around while he gives me complex moves while carefully observing my form and help me make micro adjustments so my workout is more effective and safe. He's really good at not pushing me to the brink of hating working out and always let me stop a set early if he spots that I am struggling with it, so I don't get injured. With his charisma, caring attitude and expertise in the industry I couldn't recommend him enough!

I wanted to try my hand at powerlifting and work on my overall strength since I don't get to move too often for my job. Since starting my training with Hunter, I have seen so much improvement in my overall fitness and nutrition habits. I'm the leanest I have ever been and can lift heavier than I ever thought I could. My trainer is extremely knowledgeable and walks me through each exercise as many times as I need to make sure I understand and have proper form. I feel completely at ease and look forward to each session. He also puts up with my shenanigans which is a definite plus. Hideout Fitness itself is a great space, too. Usually, gyms are incredibly intimidating, especially if you're unsure of what you're doing. Hideout is extremely welcoming as the other trainers will go out of their way to make you feel seen and to cheer you on. 12/10 would recommend Hideout to anyone who needs any fitness guidance and may be a little nervous, like I was. I look forward to continuing my fitness journey with Hideout and Hunter!

I started training at Hideout Fitness in January, about six months after the birth of my second…read morebaby. Because I had a fairly delicate pregnancy and was being extra cautious, I didn't work out much during pregnancy. By the time I returned, I had taken nearly 16 months off from consistent training, and it showed. My strength, mobility, and overall fitness had regressed significantly. Anyone who has been through a postpartum journey knows how challenging it can be to start again while breastfeeding, functioning on interrupted sleep, and adjusting to a body that feels different than it once did. What impressed me most about Hideout was how well the trainers understood this. They took the time to assess where I was physically, identify my strengths and weaknesses, and guide me back one step at a time. On my first day, I was incredibly tight and hesitant. I struggled to squat and was genuinely nervous about even gently bending my knee. Four months later, I was barbell squatting 110 pounds without pain. That transformation is just one example. The improvements in my strength, mobility, range of motion, and overall fitness have been incredibly encouraging. The progress has been so rewarding that I rarely miss a session--even on the days when I'm exhausted. My coach does an exceptional job of meeting me where I am each day, modifying workouts based on my energy levels, recovery, and capabilities while still keeping me moving toward my goals. What Hideout offers is more than just workouts. They have a team of knowledgeable, educated, and highly skilled coaches who understand that every person is different. They tailor their approach to each individual's body, strengths, limitations, and goals. That level of personalization makes all the difference. It takes a lot to trust someone with your body and your health. I can unequivocally say that placing my trust in Hideout Fitness was one of the best decisions I made. I've worked with some phenomenal trainers over the years, so I don't give strong recommendations lightly. This team truly knows what they're doing, and they bring genuine passion and dedication to their work. Your success feels like their success, and that's a rare quality to find. I wholeheartedly recommend Hideout Fitness to anyone looking to make meaningful progress on their fitness journey. Whether you're returning after a long break, navigating postpartum recovery, or simply trying to become stronger and healthier, you're in excellent hands.
