I apologize for the length but BEWARE AND READ THIS ENTIRELY THROUGH!!! So we decided to take our…read morenew puppy here that we adopted for some doggie-daycare and training during the day and an obedience class at night. At first it was going alright. Then our dog started to be afraid and wouldn't go into the building like he loved to before, and we had to literally drag him in. Then when I would pick him up after work he would jump over the guard rail to see me. like he couldn't believe I left him there. He was 8 months old and was doing great so I set it aside. He would train fine with the trainers, but he wasn't so keen on training with me, although it took a while, he is trained with me now. However, the real trouble started when he got "injured" at daycare. We were never called or informed about the incident until picking him up later that night. The owner claimed she had no idea how it happened, just heard him crying, and thinks it was caused by a nut or nail outside...it was very deep and was about 4" long gash across his upper leg. We were told she took him to a vet nearby, and were not charged told it'd be healed in a week. No meds were given or antibiotics and it got very infected over night. A few days later the dog came inside and was gushing out blood, when I called the vet she claimed she had taken him to, they informed me she was their client but had never seen the dog. The vet claimed she had sent images to him w. regards to the wound, and referred to it as a dog bite. I kept this to myself, and I required her to have the stitches redone at the vet...then they tried charging us $150 and after my boyfriend being 2 hours late for work got it all figured out! After obtaining all my evidence I confronted the owner about the incident and why she lied and said she took him to the vet. Turns out her friend came and did the stitches!!!!! (INCORRECTLY) that's why we received no meds or antibiotics for him until I requested them, which she claimed were also from a friend. This cost my puppy a lot of pain, and also stretched out his healing time to almost a full month! :( We were very disappointing were were lied to and felt very taken advantage of. If someone did that to my actual child at daycare and had their friend in med school stitch up my kid and lied about taking him to the hospital I would probably shut down their business permanently and sue. However, since we were never charged for any of the medical services, we have been told legally there isn't much we can do but to spread the word. Also note the owner is friends with many policeman in Jackson as well as animal control as she trains their dogs, SO BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS! I don't trust that place anymore and neither should YOU!!!!

This place is HORRIBLE! Do not take your pets!! I wish I had read the other review before I took my…read moredog to be groomed by hannibal ! I took my dog here because everywhere else I usually go was booked and I needed my dog groomed. I got him back and ALL his paws but four were bleeding, he had razor burn all over the place and his tongue was cut! I got him back to my house and noticed he was bleeding ALL over the place so I rushed him to the vet! I got my vet bill and she was responsible for $100 and I wanted my grooming fee of $25 returned. When I confronted her, she talked about being behind on her rent and some other sob story and refused to sign a promissory note. She also said shed give me back the $25 for the grooming if I didn't pursue the vet portions. She said she didn't notice his tongue being cut but she forgot to tell me about his paw. She then claimed that I cut the dog myself or maybe his other paws were bleeding because I trimmed his nails at home. Im from Tennessee!? As if I drove 9 HOURS back, cut his nails...drove 9 HOURS back to Michigan...to make a claim?! She herself even admitted that she used water clippers and the dog kept licking them but she turned it off whenever he started to lick. Its a dog! They are going to lick--but any other groomer I have taken him to uses proper harnesses. The woman there is completely irresponsible and a waste of breath. DO NOT take your pets here! Not unless your also fond of expensive vet bills!!! also, this woman has moved to a building on wildwood. Either way, take your pet to a professional business that actually cares!!

I met Dan and Rachael in Las Vegas, Nevada. I had adopted a Dalmatian, Lady, from a local shelter…read more She was clearly abused by a male and had no formal training before. She would run and hide anytime a new person came to the house and wouldn't stop barking if the new person was a male. She had eaten two parts of our brand new couch, ate her way out of a plastic kennel, bent the wire kennel with her teeth, ate anything we left out on the counter when she wasn't being directly supervised, and used the carpet as her personal bathroom. Rachel did our evaluation and she impressed us so much that we signed up that night. A WEEK after starting with these two, Lady was walking on a leash without pulling, sitting on command, and accepting friendly strangers. We are now able to leave Lady in a kennel for a few hours at a time without her getting out of it or hurting herself. She no longer has any accidents in the house and has awesome manners when meeting other new dogs. Three months after working with them, Lady passed the Canine Good Citizen Test with flying colors, and its all thanks to Dan and Rachael!

I have to echo all the rave reviews for Janet and the variety of classes offered through Good Dog…read more Like others have said, she changed our lives and our relationship with our dog. We learned so many important things through her private training and the puppy socialization course. She turned our puppy into our friend who turned into a family member who turned into our first child! Within the first week of receiving our Beabull puppy (3/4 English Bulldog, 1/4 Beagle) two years ago, she began to behave obnoxiously dominant. She would attack my ankles any time we would play, if we tried to hold her down to show our dominance she would NEVER tire of scratching our arms until they were bloodied and bruised, she would do the opposite of everything we asked/showed, and she humped me all the time. There were times that I would cry on the couch because of her behavior, and times my husband confessed that coming home felt like more work than his actual job because of he could never just relax with our dog acting out nonstop. Janet came to our home and made our jaws drop, as her presence changed our dog's behavior immediately. She never lost her patience and taught me how to assert dominance easily. Her guidance rewards good behavior and helped us feel mounds more confident when faced with difficult moments. Our frustration decreased steadily and our pup slowly began to treat us with respect and love. She stopped attacking my heels within a day, and let us hold her down/put our hands in and on her mouth/ears/paws quickly. The humping has stopped over time and she listens very well. I never cried because of my dog after we were helped by Janet. I also recommend so highly the Puppy Socialization class. Aside from our wee one learning sit, down, shake, stay, come and how to walk on a leash better, she made some puppy friends and overcame her shyness around bigger dogs by the end of the course. We were also introduced to the agility/games course which was SO MUCH FUN! We noticed a big change in our dog's confidence and also loyalty to us as we built our bond through training. Additionally, all the staff seems very in tune with each dogs individual needs and never let anyone feel embarrassed or unwelcome because of a misbehavior. Good Dog Training was the catalyst for positive behavior with our dog. I credit the staff and Janet for teaching us how to become amazing parents to our pup and for giving our girl confidence and a conscience.
