My PT, Megan, is methodical, thorough, and makes a point of listening. I have nothing but good things to say about her and the entire experience. I was immediately given hope for a faster recovery than expected. read more

I have worked mostly with Justin and he is an excellent therapist to work with. His knowledge and skill set thus far in setting up an exercise program for me is comprehensive. I have only worked with Jenny once before she was out for specialized training. The session went well, she reviewed my medical history and feels confident she can reduce my back pain. I am hopeful this happens and look forward to working with her and Justin going forward. read more

I am a yoga teacher and practitioner, so having my hip replaced was vulnerable. I knew that PT would be an integral part of my healing. I researched all of the facilities in Marin, not kidding. I am grateful to have found Active Marin. From the moment I called, Kate, the administrative assistant, put me at ease. Cindy Lewton, Active Marin owner, is exceptional. She is highly skilled and empathic. I also had the opportunity to work with Jenny, equally knowledgable and kind. PT is one-on-one in a bright airy space. I highly recommend AMPT if you are seeking healing in a positive environment with expert therapists who give you their full attention and care. read more

Cindy is an amazing physical therapist. She helped me prepare for a brutal hip surgery and was there to aid in my recovery. With her guidance and insight, I was able to recover quickly. I can say wholeheartedly that she is amazing. If you need a physical therapist, she's the one. Especially if you have hip issues. Georgie read more

As an update to my original review in January of this year, Ravi has successfully helped me put the pieces to the puzzle of my body together, and in doing so, is helping me learn how to strengthen my inner core and strengthen weak yet overly strained muscles. Thanks to Ravi, I am finally feeling less pain in my body and my overall well-being is improving by the day! To be able to say this after investing time, money and a lot of effort with many other PTs in Marin, I realize how talented and how spot-on Ravi was at being able to pin-point areas of weakness in my body that were preventing me from getting better. Her focus and commitment to me and her patients is perfect recipe for anyone who is needing or wanting to get better. Ravi will guide you through custom exercises and does amazing hands-on work where needed. To me, Ravi is an exceptionally talented PT and healer! read more

I have received excellent care at Active Marin. Initially, I saw Cindy for a knee injury. Currently, I saw Lisa and Dylan for a shoulder, rotator cuff injury. Both are great and have helped tremendously. Lisa is excellent not only in her Physical Therapy but in her approach to the function of the shoulder, how to adapt, exercises, etc. read more

Starting PT at Active Marin has been life changing. Lisa helped prepare me for major hip surgery and has been patiently guiding me through the recovery process. She provides me with clear, concise feedback and is helping me build not only strength and flexibility but also self-awareness. She is constantly tailoring my home exercises to suit my needs and with her help my recovery is steadily progressing. I look forward to my physical therapy sessions - I always leave feeling accomplished and empowered. read more

This is a good place to get help - I'll go back as often as I need to. I have a complicated set of back issues that can be debilitating; Cindy and Lisa have given clear practical instruction on exercise and strengthening. They have also provided insights that have helped me change habits and routine motions that generate unnecessary stress or pain. The direction and explanations are clear, non-judgmental and specific. Very helpful. read more

A month after badly injuring my elbow, I still had severe pain, weakness and loss of motion. Ice and rest had not addressed what was originally diagnosed as tendonitis. A great chiropractor recommended Active Marin and in only 5 sessions, Megan diagnosed and treated the nerve damage. She was caring, knowledgeable, focused on helping me rehab as quickly as possible and get back to my life and cycling. My arm is now better than it was before! read more

We are very satisfied customers with AC. My daughter had gone to 4 doctors to try to figure out what was wrong with her hip flexer & nobody could figure it out. Sena figured it out on our first visit & gave her exercises to do at home that she could actually remember & do. Within 6 weeks she wasn't feeling pain anymore & she is back to LAX. She is super terrific. The only down side is they don't really take health insurance so it gets pretty expensive. Also, you can't use the equipment in-between visits if needed for your therapy. Kate at the desk is so nice & helpful. And I LOVE that they have hours outside of the "9-5/closed for lunch" so you can actually work & go see them:) Overall, very pleasant & effective experience. I am sure we will be back when the next sports injury happens...! read more

Cindy is the best physical therapist on the planet. With her guidance expertise, I am a stronger, happier, fitter woman than I had ever dreamt possible. It all started several years ago with a skiing accident that resulted in a Level III ACL tear in my left knee. Just days after the accident, I was scared, in a giant brace, and barely able to move about on crutches. My doctor sent me to physical therapy to strengthen the knee for surgery, and I ended up completely rehabilitating myself without going under the knife. Cindy's combination of hands-on therapy, stretching, resistance, and Pilate's style exercises helped me rejuvenate and coordinate muscles that I didn't even know that I had. In addition, she really listened to me, and I trusted her to tell me when it was time to move up to more physically demanding (and uncomfortable) exercises. My first experience with Cindy was a very empowering and physically challenging process. The affects of the original knee injury stressed existing deficiencies in my lower back and shoulders that I had been living with for almost two decades. With Cindy's patient assistance, I was able to strengthen my lower back and correct postural problems in my shoulders that had kept me in pain and Ibuprofen for years. Now, at 43, I am having more fun than at any time in my life. My new-found athleticism does has its downside, as I recently recovered from breaking my collarbone while mountain biking. I went back to Cindy for help in eliminating adhesion with Active Release Therapy and rebuilding my shoulder muscles with simple exercises. The bottom line is that you have to do the work outside the office to get the benefits of physical therapy inside. But if you want a hands-on physical therapist (not just one with a clipboard) who listens and really knows what she is doing, I highly recommend Cindy. read more

Hey there, Dylan is top-notch. I limped around for about 8 months with a foot injury before finding Dylan. Within 3 months I was at 99% capacity, nearly ready for my dancing shoes. Anyone looking for outstanding physical therapy should immediately contact Dylan. For us in San Fran its bad news Dylan is leaving for Mill Valley, CA. I wish unlimited success Kimberly S. read more

Amazing week over week progress throughout my recovery. I am back in crossfit classes and making progress in push ups, shoulder press and even hand stands. Pull ups next. Gets sore, but feeling really good. Jenni was great and kept me going throughout the 6 months. read more

Megan takes a particular interest in her patients in that she remembers not only our ailments but our "stories." She adds a deeper connection to foster our well being in so many ways, such as remembering a grandchild's name, or if I liked a particular restaurant I had mentioned the week before. She is very knowledgeable and I am very comfortable in recommending her to friends in need of PT. I trust her implicitly, and love her low-key style and her keen competency. The staff is friendly and helpful. Kate always has a smile and a warm hello....it's a nice environment to work on my ailing hips." read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I'm 72 and had to have two knee replacements and luckily had TKJ do my p/t. Danielle, Kate, Rebekah, Rich, and Aman all know what they're doing and helped me recover in record time. Their new facility has the usual assortment of of treadmills, bikes, shuttles, bands, and other equipment + free parking. If you want to recover quickly and completely then this is the place to come. No doubt about it. read more

Active Marin PT is a pleasure to work with. Kate who works the front desk is extremely accommodating and helpful in scheduling and working with insurance. My PT Jenny is great and very knowledgeable and experienced. We are working to heal a persistent tendon problem in my ankle. She has helped me understand my injury as well as develop a plan to promote healing. She taught me how to effectively tape my own ankle for extra support and we work on new exercises every time I come in. read more

Cindy is the best PT on the planet. I injured my back several years ago and was so lucky to find her. I am very active (mountain biker, pilates, and more) and go to her for all of my physical issues. She is incredibly knowledgeable and keeps herself well educated on the latest techniques and research in her field. I have been to a lot of others and they don't compare. I'm so glad Dylan is now in the same office as he refit my mountain bike for me making a huge difference in my overall health for riding. Thanks to you both. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The office is also really nice, convenient and has lots of parking. read more

I am so happy that I have discovered Active Marin! The staff is knowledgable and attentive and Cindy Dehan could not have been better in her assessment of my injury. The front desk got me in right away and I had a detailed plan for my recovery in place after the first visit. I will never go to anywhere else for PT again. The parking is convenient and the space is sleek and airy. This is all I need to keep my body healthy! read more

I've been to different PT clinics, but this is the BEST. From reception to the therapists especially Megan, I felt always welcome, listened to, and taken cared of every time. The therapists really know their stuff and will explain to you in detail (in words you can understand), the whats, whys and hows of your condition. They're also very honest and trustworthy; they do not stretch your visits if they feel you are already well and/or can follow-up less frequently. My bad case of plantar fasciitis has totally healed, and so has my arm pain. Because of this I am able to increase the duration, frequency and intensity of different exercises. I can now run up to 4 miles without stopping, and also be on the bike and do gradual uphill climbs. I feel much stronger, healthier and happier. read more

"Megan has worked with both of my teens and she is great with them. She communicates effectively and they are making real progress."

Have had the opportunity to work with PT, Whitney to recover from a herniated disc that had displaced my root nerve. She is very smart and strong , it was an excellent session of learning how to heal my body through specific daily exercises on my own at home as well as amazing hands on soft tissue work to calm my low back spasms to get me to stand tall again and without any pain!! So grateful! I highly recommend Whitney and Active Marin Physical Therapy. read more

I'm not sure where I'd be without Active Marin. After injuring my back, I set about a long, slow recovery with (at least) weekly treatments. While I mostly saw Cindy during my months of treatment, the entire clinic is invested in the clients' recovery. The place has a family feel to it. Physical Therapy is not the kind of appointment people typically look forward to...but I did. Week after week, month after month, Cindy and her staff worked with me, listened to me, made adjustments, and yes, practiced a little tough love. I jokingly told my friends that Cindy was a magician, as she worked on my body and made the pain disappear. Even as I've progressed to the point where I no longer need to go into the clinic, Cindy and staff still check in on me. That's not only rare...it's pretty much unheard of. I hope that I never need PT again, but I'm grateful to know Active Marin exists. I tell everyone I know to go when they are in need. read more

Cindy is an astute and knowledgeable physical therapist. She takes a deep and holistic look at your problem and comes up with a strategy of treatment and self-treatment that makes sense and works. She gives you a manageable plan for exercises that will truly help rather than throwing every exercise in the book at you. I highly recommend Cindy and Active Marin. read more

Nothing but a positive experience all around. And this is coming from someone in the first few weeks of recovery from an ACL surgery. Not in the best of mood at times. From attempting to schedule my appointments and keeping track of them to learning the best way to gain a full recovery. The Receptionist was very patient with me. I was having trouble juggling the best time/day since I need help getting to/ from appointments. Prior to surgery I saw Seena to get ready for the surgery. Her positive energy and understanding of my feelings towards this injury in addition to teaching me the best exercises to prepare me for surgery were a great help. I am now a little over 2 weeks into my recovery and have visited Megan 2 times. I am amazed at how the little exercises I have been given for this point in my recovery have made me feel stronger and given me confidence that I will progress. As down as I get at times, it is nice to have someone teaching me what I should and shouldn't be doing. All my concerns have been listened to and answered at my visits. Best thing: after I have the list of exercises to do we don't spend my follow up sessions just doing the exercises that I can do at home. She answered and listened to all of my questions and made sure I was doing the exercises correctly. If I was doing them correctly I didn't take the time to complete all 3 sets. Instead she addressed any of my concerns and massaged the injured area. The atmosphere is light and cheerful. Space is big enough to have privacy in your own space but small enough to easily get around. - Patient recovering from ACL surgery. read more

I have seen a number of physical therapists over the years. I would assess Dylan as one of the best. He really understands the body, how it moves and its alignment. He begins every session with a careful assessment. He is very hands on mobilizing your structure into correct alignment. Lisa Bell was my physical therapist after I had shoulder surgery. I couldn't be happier with the results! Lisa was just as concerned with my recovery as should would have been for her own shoulder. It's been six months since my surgery and my shoulder is stronger than ever and continues to improve every day. read more

"I have been going to Lisa now for a couple of months. She understands my painful sciatica problem in my lower back and legs. She stretches me out in the sessions but never over does it (thank God!). She has also given me a bunch of exercises that i can do at home or at the gym. This will make the improvement sustainable. Lisa is also relaxing and fun so its very comfortable to be treated by her. I would recommend her to anyone. Thanks Lisa!" read more

I worked with Dylan due to a torn meniscus. With Dylan's help, I went from being in pain constantly, to moderate/occasional pain, to being pain free. Dylan uses a good mix of therapeutic massage and exercise during his session and, most importantly for me, spent a lot of time being sure I understood how to do the work on my own and educating me about my knee and related muscles. He recommended an exercise regimen for me following PT, too. Dylan has an easygoing personality and is a pleasure to work with. read more

Dylan worked with me after I broke my arm and injured my shoulder including the surrounding muscles and tendons. Dylan put me at ease as I was in a lot of pain and not anxious to move my arm much or have anyone touch it. He was able to determine exactly where the problems were and he devised ways to relieve the pain. Dylan developed an exercise program for me that has allowed me to regain my strength, flexibility and full mobility. He taught me how to properly do strengthening exercises and to continue an easy to follow program on my own. Dylan is very patient, really pleasant and kept everything organized and on time. I highly recommend Dylan as he is an excellent physical therapist and he kept the practice running smoothly. read more

TOOK MY KIDS THERE My 16 year old son had extensive hip surgery for FAI in September and needed physical therapy afterwards. He is a highly competitive athlete and we were very nervous that he would never play the same again. We went to Active Marin and I am so grateful that we did. My son worked with Cindy, Dylan and Lisa for 6 months and they were incredible. They were knowledgeable, professional, kind and compassionate. Jack's surgeon, Dr. Mark Safran at Stanford was very impressed with my son's progress. The physical therapy was a crucial part of the healing process and because of these physical therapists he is 100% today and feels great. I have also taken my 11 year old daughter there because of a fall that caused her a great deal of pain in her tailbone. One session with Cindy and I haven't heard a complaint since! I am so happy we found these folks. I can not say enough good things about them. Do yourself a favor, if you need physical therapy see these people. Oh and Denise in the front office is a sweetheart! " This is my second series of appointments with Active Marin PT and though I have a different therapist, I feel I am literally in very skilled and sympathetic hands. I also like the way all the therapists help each other to further the care of their respective patients. Great place." read more
