I have never been a huge believer in chiropractic being used to "heal" people like doctors do with meds. My sisters and I, and all our friends, were raised to take medicine when we got sick or were in pain. So, being a new mom to a daughter that suffered constantly from ear infections, I did what I know and tried antibiotic after antibiotic. Every time we went to the doctor we were given a prescription for something stronger because she was building an immunity to the standard meds. Her ear infections started at 6 weeks old and by the time she was 9 months, she had a total of 3 single ear infections and 2 double ear infections! My sister is a chiropractic assistant in CA & SWEARS by nothing else but her chiropractor & her 2 yr old son has been getting adjusted since he was born. She begged me FOR MONTHS to stop making my daughter suffer with the pain and all the meds and just take her to a chiropractor. Dr. Carlson and her team are incredible. I came in with low back pain which made it hard for me to do my job, which involves sitting on the floor with children for a majority of my day. I found myself at Dr. Carlson's office last July (2013) a month after I was in a car accident. The pain in my back and hips had gotten so bad I was convinced I would never be active again. I literally could not walk without experiencing sharp, pulsating pain shooting down my left or right leg. Everything became difficult for me and I realized that I take my health and mobility for granted; like most of us do. At that time, I couldn't step off a curb without thinking my back might give out. I started coming to Active Family Chiropractic in October 2014 because I was in a bad motorcycle accident and was thrown 15 feet off of my bike into another vehicle. I was lucky and limped away with some ligament damage to 1 foot, but the back and neck pain I had was excruciating. I also got a concussion and now suffer from post-concussion syndrome, which will require ongoing care which Dr. C treats with adjustments as well. My career requires me to lift, climb, drive long distances, work long hours, among other challenging tasks. Thanks to Dr. C, I was back to work within 2 weeks of my accident and my pain level went from a 10 to a 5. I've been a patient of Dr. Carlson since December 2018. The first thing that impressed me and continues to impress me is how she pushes you to be a better you physically as well as mentally. She asked me what my expectations were should I start treatment. At that time, I only wanted to stop the constant pain in my right shoulder, forearm and groin area of left leg. This has been an ongoing situation for me for over four years. I strongly recommend Active Family Chiropractic. I was suffering from a upper back injury(herniated disk) probably caused by many years of playing football. I also had a digestive problem. I was in a lot of pain and was having a hard time working,sleeping and just enjoying life. I tried everything pain medicine, steroid injections etc... nothing helped. I have been seeing Dr. Carlson 3x/week for about 2 months now due to back pain and tightness on my neck. So far, my neck is more flexible and my back is pain free. I also noticed I haven't got any migraines lately which I suffer since forever. So I have been going here a little over a year. I have to say she is the best chiropractor I have been to. She explains what she is going to do to help you with taking care of your spine. Started going here in July of 2014 when I had bad shoulder pain. The pain diminished after just one visit. I started coming in twice a week and then once a week.
