They've got a little something for everyone here…read more... Three years ago I would have been shocked if someone told shopaholic me that I'd enjoy shopping for my kids way more than myself, but it's true. I skipped the cute women's clothing and made my way towards the back of the store to check out the cute little onesies, tutus, etc for my little ones. I just so happened to be here during the Winnetka Sidewalk Sale so I got some fab deals on kicky pants PJs and other cute outfits for my son. I didn't have as much luck for my daughter, but next time we're in need for a tutu we'll be headed here. If you stop in on the 363 days the Winnetka Sidewalk Sale isn't happening it can be a bit pricey, but definitely worth checking out for the kids. And perhaps even yourself.

What a neighborhood gem! Looking from the outside in, there's no way you would have any idea that…read morethis place meets all of your needs for pretty much everything. A fun top and jeans for yourself, a baby gift and card to match for the little one in your life, a candle for a hostess gift along with a cute sparkly card, some perfume for your sister, earrings for your mom along with a necklace to match, oh and a bracelet for your sister-in-law. Might I add, they have so much more. This is the store for you if you're looking for more of a one-of-a-kind look rather than the, everyone is wearing it vibe. When I walked in I was trying to keep up with my eyes as I was scanning everything as fast as I could but then kept looking back because I didn't want to miss anything. When I stopped in today the owner happened to be in and she was so friendly and kind, I was very impressed. She seems very down to earth and just wants we customers to walk away happy. I'm so glad I found this place. I'll definitely be back.

I tend to buy most of my 3 yr old's dance gear online. I've found adorable leotards on amazon and…read moreeven better ones at zulily, although if you go that route I suggest ordering a size bigger since you'll be waiting months for it. Up until now I"ve also been buying my daughter's ballet shoes online, but since I just signed her up for a *real* dance studio* I thought maybe I should make sure the ballet shoes fit. And that's how we found ourselves at Body & Sole. My little one was fitted for ballet shoes and immediately found her way to their bar where she demonstrated some very awkward looking dance poses that made me think this ballet thing may be short lived. I wasn't planning to buy any leotards here, but couldn't resist buying her yet another sparkly pink ballet dress. It was more expensive than I've found online yet less expensive than what I've seen in actual dance studios in the past. My daughter was also quite excited about the ballet outfits they sell for american girl dolls here. The two women who helped me were very helpful and even had a binder of requested attire from all the dance studios in the area. Fortunately, 3 1/2 year olds can wear whatever they want so the sparkly pink ballet dress will get lots of use. The ballet shoes themselves have already been put to use during a week long ballet camp at Baby Take a Bow.** My little ballerina loved shopping there so much that now when we pass the store she screams "there's my favorite ballet store!" Lucky for her we plan on going back in a few weeks to buy her first pair of tap shoes. * http://www.yelp.com/biz/danced-inc-northbrook?osq=dancEd ** http://www.yelp.com/biz/baby-take-a-bow-winnetka

I remember getting my most favorite shirt of all, a print of my super big crush as a kid--Shaun Cassidy. I can recall the smell of the heat press, and the excitement of the final product. It was a light blue shirt...see, just like yesterday? Around since 1977, HP Tops is your town t-shirt printing shop that has a space packed with garments and clothing blanks for all your printing needs...whether a Bar/Bat Mitzvah giveaway, a customized gift, or shirt for camp, this is your one stop shop. We needed a special shirt made, a simple black t-shirt with some lettering on it. We walked in, told the owner what we wanted, he arranged the letters perfectly on the heat press, and did the shirt on the spot in less than 15 minutes. All in all the total came to $21. Shirt cost + $.50 per letter. They have an online ordering system, but we were told it's better to come in to make sure it turns out okay. I personally suggest going in, because the customer service is off-the-charts fantastic, and the shop is a fun visit...even if you just want to browse and drum up a conversation. Nice to support local.
