10/10 would recommend. Group outings, with or without kids, all adults - whoever wants to run around and play games like a real world Mario party game. Create your player profile ahead of time and make sure to scan in your wristband in the lobby before heading to the rooms. They have lockers that you can use for free, if you need to put keys etc in there.
Each room will need a minimum of 2 people, up to 6. You have to buy a minimum of 2 tickets online. There are different game rooms with a number of games you can play in it, both cooperative or competitive. You start at level one until you complete it and unlock the higher levels - don't worry, this will be saved on your player profile for next time you come.
They have 60 and 90 min options, but let's be real, the 90 minute slot is the way to go if you can. It's a little more expensive but definitely worth it for your first time. They have some discounts on non peak days (I think Monday - Thursday).
Plenty of parking for the location out front. Would recommend wearing athletic clothes and pants that cover your legs - the laser rooms will have you army crawling on the floor to avoid tripping the lasers. Be prepared to run and throw balls and communicate with your group. You'll be sweating from the games! They have restrooms located in the game room area, with water fountains so you don't have to bring your water bottle in, or grab it from the lockers if you put yours in there.
If you book as a party, you can also reserve the lounge area for your group as a place to hang after your session. We didn't do this option because we were going across the street to KPOT after (would highly recommend).
The rooms can be pretty loud, especially if there are a lot of kids around (lots of high pitched shrieking), but I'm sure we were yelling as well. Such a fun place to get some energy out for kids! My group all said we wished we had something like this growing up.
Your time limit starts from tapping into your first game. When you tap your wristband, you can see your time left. Pay attention to the color of your player name as that can indicate what color you're playing as in the room. The games can be pretty quick and the tablet will let you know when you can enter the room. You have 5 seconds to all get situated and then about 10 seconds to exit, once done. Each room has instructions on the tablet on how to play the game, but be careful not to change it when you hit start because whatever game is selected will be the game you play. If another group is queued up for a room, don't tap in because it will add you to their game that they are waiting to play.
Once in the room, there will be some audio instructions, but otherwise, you just learn as you go. If no one is queued up to your room outside, after you finish your game, you can opt to hit the flashing green button somewhere in the room to play again on the next level of the room. The rooms can go up go 10. We went around in a circle and played a game or two in each type of room before heading to ones we liked or wanted to level up in.
You get points and coins that you can trade in for actual rewards at the front before you see exit back to the lobby. I got my own personal wristband for the next time I come back, and I will definitely be back soon. Winter is coming in Ohio and Activate is perfect for an indoor activity. read more
