    My sister and myself

TLDR; It's an amazing experience with friendly and professional people - would highly recommend. I bought two tickets recently for the full 3 hour tour as my sister recently had a milestone birthday, and found a drive within herself to try some new adventures. She decided a way to capstone her year was to challenge herself to face her fears. Action Tours Zipline was her first choice. She and I spent our childhood exploring the woods of Big Bear, and she said she loved the idea of flying through the trees. And how beautiful it was. Lush green trees, snow patches, and the mountain air make for an amazing experience. The business is within a cabin where you check-in, meet some of the staff, and watch a short safety video. They have clean restrooms, nice places to sit, lockers for larger items, and merch for sale. The ride up the mountain is either in the company's van with their friendly driver, or a personal journey in your own vehicle. Time on the road to the private property where the ziplines are located is about 30 minutes with a short 5 to 10 minute off-road vehicle change to reach some higher locations. There are additional restrooms at the halfway point where you change rides and I'd recommend utilizing them as you wont get another chance until you return to the same area for the last two ziplines. The gear is heavy but definitely makes you feel safer. Putting it on is difficult but the staff were there to assist each person individually to ensure it was all properly fitting. From what we recall there are about 9 total ziplines, with some connected to the zip line immediately next to it. Some of the ziplines are as long 2 football fields and can reach much higher speeds. Your group all zips together one person at a time so make sure you're friendly with your tour group as you'll be strapped up with them for the next hour or so. Luckily this was a lot of fun so everyone is a pretty great mood. Including the staff! Everyone there clearly loves what they do and it shows. They are friendly, easy to talk to, encouraging, and funny. Make sure you watch each of them as they zip as they'll often perform tricks or stunts with one another. The have a tip jar for the employees and zipline guides and we made sure to show our appreciation for a great time with awesome memories. ** I'd recommend bringing boots, warm clothes, sunscreen, tissues, ChapStick, and some gum. ** I would definitely do this again! Next time I'll bring a GoPro for sure. I see they offer additional experiences and I just may try some of their other stuff out. Big Bear is only a short drive from LA so I know I'll be returning. Thank you to the staff for being amazing, and thank you to whoever read all this - I hope it all helps.

Where do I begin!? I have always talked to my husband how much I wanted to try zip lining and for our 9 year anniversary we did exactly that. What better place than big bear to make these dream come true. This place was amazing. The staff were friendly and helped me out a lot by reassuring me that everything is going to be fine as I zip lined throughout the beautiful mountains. I am not one for heights anymore but this definitely made me feel like a kid again. My husband and I would definitely come back with our kids next time. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Set up with a GoPro my sweetie and I are ready to go zip-lining with an incredible group of "tour guides."

I thought everyone was great, from the staff at the office, to the tour bus drivers, to the zip line coaches, EVERYONE was GREAT! I'm kinda self-effacing and sarcastically funny, I had fun banter with all the coaches. They took great care of me/tour group at large. Having fun reduces the fear! Although there is zero reason to have fear, the coaches were there for us every step of the zip-line way. Ziplining is FUN! I laughed and giggled with each leap of faith into the zipline across the forest. I knew I was safe, I was in great hands! I especially want to thank you Dre and Tanner, but Thank you to everyone who made this day a GREAT day and experience.

My friend booked a ziplining tour for 12, but our group had to get separated because of Covid. One group was at 9AM and the other group was at 9:30AM. The first group was late, but since it was only their group on that tour, they were able to make it. The other group came 5 mins after the scheduled time and was not able to make it. They say that you have to be there at least 15 minutes early. The lady at the front was rude at first about it, but after we asked questions and explained we were only there for the weekend, she quickly helped reschedule us for the next day. The guys on the tour that explained everything were pretty nice and friendly. I was still drunk from the day before, so half of the time, I was ziplining drunk. Thank you to the guys for making it easy to learn and have a good time!

Highly recommended! Staff are absolutely amazing and friendly. They will not disappoint. I have gone both summer and winter time. Different each time and the view are amazing! They photos they take are incredible!

Get for photo package- it's worth it

Hands down a must do when at Big Bear. We are regular visitors here- mostly winter season to ski & snowboarding. One of the few times we are here visiting not during a ski/snowboard season. I made reservations online - they advise to arrive 15 mins prior to your scheduled time. I recommend completing the waiver sent via text. Save time. Upon arrival- we waited just a few mins for others to arrive & off we start with safety video before hopping into the van to the site. The van was clean and driver was super nicer. The ride was abt 25 minutes . Enjoy the Mountain Views on your way up! When we arrived - you hop into another vehicle to take you to the actual zipline site. After that ride- a staff was ready for us. The gears were line up neatly & was ready to help our group! The gears took only several mins but there are at least 15 people so just hang tight. Unfortunately, their camera wasn't initially working so they offered to take our photos with our own devices. Only one of the group got their photos taken with their prof. Camera. Their group photo turned out nice! Additional overview safety was provided again by a staff member before we had zipped through the 1st course- it was fun!!!! There were 3 zipline staff during the course whom were all professional, patience and friendly. The entire experience was 3 hours. Totally worth it & highly recommend it! Every member were nice- from Check in staff - driver & course staff. One thing I wished we got were more photos. Several photos were out of focus / our group photos were missing due to camera not functioning at the start of the course. We did pay for the photo package- just wished there were more taken of our group. There were amazing & fun shots of the other groups in our party. I don't believe it's warrant a less star. I hope the manager or owner will read this review & view it as "things we can improve". Overall, our family had a great time & we had wonderful memories.

Booking confirmation email says "we provide transportation".

Snow shoe outing review: misleading description and overpriced. Let me start by saying our guide Phil was GREAT! No complaints there AT ALL. The issues we had last Sunday (Feb.18) was that the "3 hour tour" includes the time to drive to and from the trailhead! On that day, it took about 50 minutes out and 35 minutes back. Do the math. Also, they repeatedly talk about transporting customer in their vans (see photos). However, after we checked in, they told us we had to drive our own cars!! No explanation given--and their vans were parked out front (see photo). Scummy. The snow shoeing itself was nice, although you could hear the traffic from highway 38 most of the time. We expected more for $120.

I understand that as a business you need to make a profit- they don't confirm the tour unless they have 15 people. However, that makes it frustrating as a customer. Our purchase request was for Saturday at noon. However, there was no status update prior to Saturday. I called at 10:20am the day of to see if it was still happening but was told that they wouldn't know until 11am. I then called back again at 11:15am and they still couldn't tell me if the tour was happening. They ended up calling at 11:25am to say it was cancelled (only 5 minutes before their 11:30am check in time). This business model leaves customers waiting literally until the last few minutes which makes it hard for anyone visiting for the weekend to enjoy their time and plan their day accordingly.

This was one of the most unique and incredible experiences…read more I found Selena on AirBnB Experiences and after reading the reviews knew I had to participate in Forest Bathing. We met at a public parking lot and she drove us in her SUV up into the mountains, to her secret spot in the forest. She provided lots of interesting, educational info along the 15 minute drive. Once we arrived, the experience started. She guided a moderate hike into the forest, showing us all of her favorite things. Fresh water brooks, waterfalls, unique, bold, and beautiful trees. The hike was fairly moderate, Indian Jones-esq at times, nothing too crazy, but not easy. As a plus size/not very active girl, I was able to do it. My 62 year old mom kept up fairly well too! Selena took lots of short breaks for us to catch our breath (elevation for flatlanders is rough!), gave us lots of educational info about what we were seeing, smelling, and hearing. She even provided us with a few edible plants along the way. The hike up to the fresh water source was truly spectacular. Once there we emptied our water bottles and filled them with the ice cold fresh water and guzzled it down. So crisp and clean and YUM! The hike back was just as refreshing. We then spent some time wind bathing, cutting chords, and energy healing, followed by 35 minutes of quiet time meandering the forest on our own. Afterwards we drank a fresh brewed tea Selena had made using ingredients she collected along our hike, and some healthy snacks and more fresh water, which she provided. It was 3 hours of really amazing, energizing, active, relaxing, healing Forest Bathing and for $40pp it was well worth it!

We received a Groupon for this, and yet even with the discounted price, we didn't really feel it was worth the cost. Had we actually paid $38 retail price for this, I would have been extremely disappointed. Their website had technical issues when trying to redeem our purchase. When we finally got through, the "app" was really just a link to an online survey site that asked you questions and you filled in the answers. It was really this low-tech website that made us feel as if it was a cheap experience. As for the questions themselves, some of them were interesting at best and some of them were very easy. This might make it nice for a family with young children, but for a group of adults, we didn't find it challenging enough. I did, however, enjoy some of the corny jokes and random facts. There was also some obvious advertising in it, which, again, made it feel like a cheap experience. Overall, I'd say if you're willing to pay the money, it makes for an interesting stroll through Big Bear. Otherwise, it's not a "must do" experience. As I mentioned before, this was not our first scavenger hunt experience, and if I were to rank all the scavenger hunts we have done, this would probably rank the lowest.

We were super lucky in my Toyota Corolla to make it out unscathed by driving VERY slowly and carefully, but it took a LONG time and we were so stressed. If you have a jeep, truck, or other off-roading vehicle you'll probably be ok. But any other vehicle I would NOT recommend (not even an SUV), or turn around after stop 10 at the latest! The scale of the map in the pamphlet is a bit misleading, because the stops are decently father apart than they seem. I had maps open on my phone to constantly compare with the paper map. Most of the stops along the way are marked with a sign post and number, so look out for those. We came in April when there was no snow or rain, good weather for hiking around.
