We are big fans of the Belmont Healthcare Center and we feel blessed to have had their help in caring for our loved one. All departments coordinated to provide a great amount of support for my Grandmother. We are truly thankful to the nurses for staying on top of things with medications, frequent and thorough diaper changing, consistent feeding times for meals, maintaining my Grandmother's warmth and hydration levels, celebrating her birthday with balloons and a special sign, and giving her a wonderful quality of life during her stay. The wound care specialist did very well to help her with the stitches and healing process for a wound my Grandmother sustained before arriving at the facility. The activities department provided an environment where my Grandmother could follow the news, be in a social environment, and participate in all types of enriching games, exercises, and entertainment opportunities. The office staff took great care of us a family, giving us tremendous support and guidance during our challenging times, expertly filing all necessary paperwork for insurance purposes, which was a huge relief for us. The physical therapy department worked hard to help my grandmother regain her function as much as was physically possible, taking her for walks and keeping her moving with targeted exercises, and they kept us updated on her progress with detailed feedback. The cleaning staff were very friendly and they did a fantastic job keeping the rooms and common areas looking sparkly clean. The medical staff were very knowledgeable and helped us understand my Grandmother's condition while making sure she received the proper treatment. The kitchen staff worked hard to provide quality meals that met the special dietary needs of my Grandmother. The front desk staff workers were always welcoming and helpful when we arrived to visit. When I reflect on how all these workers I mentioned above worked together to make Belmont Healthcare Center work, my heart is filled with gratitude and my mind is at ease knowing that my Grandmother was very well taken care in a clean, caring, uplifting place.

I will only mention (for brevity's sake) the slop they serve - I'm quite sure inmates at San Quentin eat much better. My mother's dentures were disposed of without her knowledge or consent and when I inquired about what could be done about it I was told an investigation would be launched. I was told this the same way that one might explain to a child that if you don't go to sleep Xmas evening, Santa won't leave you any gifts.... Numerous other instances I could list but the bottom line is ....Unless you really don't care about the person DO NOT UTILIZE THIS FACILITY.

Elsa pays attention to details and I am highly impressed with the competence and professionalism of her staff, nurses, CNAs, PT team, and workers. They were so courteous and friendly and made my family feel reassured that my sister would be well taken care of. Brookside is bright, clean, spacious and they have an outdoor space which is a center courtyard where they have activities for those interested in participating. Within one business day of her arrival, we had a family meeting set up with the Brookside team to review our expectations, they answered questions, and allowed us to mention any special requests we had during my sister's stay at Brookside Nursing. This family meeting is part of their standard operating procedure and I think is a big benefit for its residents. This is a huge contrast to an experience we had at another skilled nursing facility where there was no formal dialogue offered. The Brookside PT and OT team are exceptional. I had a knee surgery and ended up with 12 or 15 PT session with select PT in Belmont. They are…read morebusy all the time and the PT will always be working with 2 patients at the same time with another assistant. Not a good experience in my opinion. At the end, select PT surprised me with an extra $40 charge due to some "re-evaluation" on top of my copayment. The PT never did anything special or extra to "re-evaluate" me, and no one ever told me anything about this extra charge. Overall, I would not recommend this place. Look elsewhere. There are better options.

This is because today I found out that my next scheduled appointments have been cancelled. They were cancelled because, allegedly, I called them to cancel due to surgery. I do not have surgery planned and have never scheduled a surgery in my life, so I never made this phone call. The coordinator was very sure that I made this phone call, even stating that I was in the car when I spoke to her. This is false because I don't take phone calls while I'm in my car. When I asked her to tell me when I made this phone call, she was not able to tell me. Finding out that my scheduled appointments have been cancelled without my consent was upsetting enough but being talked to in a very condescending way was uncalled for. I suggest updating their scheduling system (maybe add a verification process when someone calls to cancel appointments) and learn not to talk to your clients the way you did with me.

Not only did their methods help cure me of the obsession, but they gave me insight into my life and tools to use that has allowed me to thrive without the need of Alcohol. My wife and kids are also very grateful to everyone at WRRC who started me on this new journey. For anyone struggling with addiction, I'd highly recommend checking in. I loved that their methods are holistic, and not necessarily pushing any one solution to recovery, but teaching numerous principles. I believe most, if not all the counselors and people in the house have been down the road, so have real life experiences of recovery and really seem to want to share the gift. If you are truly ready to stop the madness caused by addiction and willing to listen, learn and be open for change in your life, this place is waiting to help get you on the path to recovery. The house is situated in a beautiful area with wonderful views and wildlife. The pool, gym, game room, food options, weekly excursions and phone options, which help with family involvement are certainly a nice bonus as well. I'm currently over 15 months sober and continue to use the skills I learned in "The House". I'll be forever grateful for the caring people of this facility, and look forward to the weekly alumni meetings and occasional BBQ's back at the house. They saved my life. Enjoy every moment....

Folks - the day comes when you have to face the hard truth that you (or your loved ones) can't…read moreoutsmart the human condition. You (they) are talented, kind, smart, respected, and capable, but you (they) can't make it without help. There is no shame, no stigma, and no better place to reclaim your (their) life than WRRC. The location is convenient (close enough but worlds away), the accommodations and offerings exceptional, surrounded by beautiful trees, in the nearby mountains with a pool and hot tub. Exercise, yoga, optional massages and trips off site made this an incredible experience, but the people of WRRC make your freedom possible. I made plans months out (though their turnaround based on need is remarkable), and the staff were exceptionally accommodating, fielding questions via phone, text and email. I wanted to visit, and had a great time meeting both the staff, as well as clients. I had a chance to chat with a client with no supervision - they let me know that they had extended their stay by 2 months! I thought this amazing, but having spent a month, I truly understand. Lindsay was the first person I spoke with. She has many hats, all worn well, with expertise running impactful groups (super supportive) and WRRC. I never felt pressured before I decided on WRRC, and she was always available for questions. A caring, sincere, resourceful and super cool human (I will repeat this and give an overall appraisal at the end of the review)! Nikki was my case manager, and was great - vibrant, kind and informative. She juggled needs effectively, making appointments and taking care of my support network. A super cool, effervescent human! Jay facilitated groups in a refreshingly direct and calm way, holding us accountable while delivering the tailored curriculum. Exceptionally caring, a paladin of recovery, a super cool human! Robin was a great asset to recovery, with excellent fitness routines, deep knowledge regarding the overlap between kinesiology and recovery. Wise, talented and a great guide to the nearby parks, she brings another critical facet to the recovery. A super cool human! Lisa conducted our yoga sessions, this is an area where I lack expertise, but she provided her own unique, touching and deeply kind insights, a super cool human! Jessica facilitated our art therapy sessions, and they were creative and offered lasting insights to address continued sobriety. Caring, tuned in and creative, a super cool human! Chris is my definition of a therapist, someone qualified by training, but naturally talented through experience and being a whole human being. We worked in several different modes, solo (insightful and impactful), with my kids (healing and owning) and my girlfriend (transformational and future focused), as well as in the family groups, all the while using honesty, care, humor and deep compassion to bring out the best of a wide range of clients, family and ages. Understanding the needs of such a wide range of folks requires wisdom to meet suffering where it is, and Chris applied just that, being a great guide toward a life of recovery and super cool human! The month passed quickly, and I could go on paragraph after paragraph regarding the deep conversations, laughs in comradery, recognition of past suffering, and the blue horizon of a sober future with each of the aforementioned WRRC guides. But in that is the point - they are committed to your recovery, trained in effective tools, human in their recognition, honest in their embrace of the complexities of it all, and compassionately fully engaged in your better future. I know it might be hard to acknowledge, but you or your loved ones deserve this level of care. There is no shame, no stigma, you (or your loved ones) are human. At 17 months postpartum, I am still feeling excruciating pain in my lower back and it hurts even more to carry my 23 lb toddler. I knew it was time to see PT for a change. Tanya had a positive energy to her which made me feel comfortable during our treatment. She also explained everything very well to me during each step. I came in slouching and walked out with a better posture. It was so magical. I already can't wait for our next session and to feel better with her treatment plans!

Much to my pleasant surprise, the birch house here in Redwood city has been just an incredible experience. The house parent Charles, is the sweetest most understanding and down to earth person, let alone alcoholic I have ever run across. The amenities are out of this world, downstairs there is a great kitchen, with ample storage and pantry space, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Upstairs their is a bath tub and the shower can be converted in to a steam room. The fellow alcoholics and addicts have a wonderful balance of compassion, understanding and a real family feel towards each other. I was only planning on staying one, maybe two months, but the stay has been much longer, as my fears were fears only, and the experience has only enriched my sobriety and belief in others goodness. I would highly, highly recommend the birch house to anyone looking for a stable, welcoming sober living facility.
