My husband bought me a coat for Christmas that didn't fit and they told him if I needed to I can take it back for store credit. I browsed and found nothing so I decided to get house stuff instead. Brought it to customer service and was told I could only get store credit for the brand name of the coat that was bought. I seriously never heard of such a thing but fine. I went back and just picked a few things and the one of the pants I bought were incorrectly marked so it was more than my credit. I said well just take them off and give me the remaining in store credit. She said she couldn't do that but still took the pants off leaving the store with a gain of 11 euros. I said I'm not giving you the 11 euros so please put the pants back on and I'll pay the increase. She took my money and not so nicely gave me me my change and walked away.

We stopped in here a few times for a few things we needed on our trip and even once for a snack. I am a huge lover of smoked meats and cheese, so when we saw that we could get their famous smoked sausage on a roll for £2 and an ice cream sundae for £1 we were all about it and quite happy for it. One thing I miss living in the UK are smoked meats and sausages. Proper smoked meats and sausages. This really hit the spot. I was really tempted to buy stuff to bring back for my home in Glasgow, but figured it would be a pain to drag everything back when I could just get stuff once I got home if I wanted. Instead, I bought a really cool green ink pen for uni, some stroop waffles for the boyfriend and some candles for a birthday we were celebrating while in Amsterdam! It is a customer-friendly store with an unique profile. HEMA distinguishes itself from other retailers by selling its own brand. Every day, week and/or month you can find new offers on products for daily use, all with its own assortment. HEMA products are convenient, practical, attractive and of good quality. It even got to a point that HEMA became a fashion icon, with Dutch celebrities starting to wear basic t-shirts with nothing but the red HEMA line on it.. While living abroad, the HEMA is definitely absent in the German streets..How can people live without it??!! Im sure the Dutch cant... This little shop has everything you could possible need and at a very affordable price point. I was able to purchase a new top, underwear and snacks to keep me going until my flight the next day. They have everything from baggage tags and scales to bras to toys to phone cases! Seriously everything! You can find them on the departures 3 side of the Schiphol airport (before security).

Fold up "down jacket" that was $39, (I got it on a special for $15). Faux leather tote, $29. Well fitting bras, $13. I found several pair of earrings on special $1.00. Faux leather passport/wallet-$12. I must add that everything has been washed & is of superior quality & hasn't shrunk. The tote & wallet are in still perfect condition, after months of use. ($$'s rounded off from euros) Kids clothes were amazingly priced compared to the States & if I had a larger suitcase I would have bought for my grand-daughter. I purchased the perfume for €268, I usually wear Chanel, Roja, Carolina Herrera, so I am familiar with luxury fragrances. The sales consultant was very pleasant and even gave me a complimentary Estée Lauder makeup bag and a small La Mer sample by the way, the skincare is excellent. This made me fully confident that my purchase was handled correctly. However, after returning to the UK and opening the box a few days later, I was shocked to discover that I had been sold a different fragrance -- Aerin Le Soir, instead of Le Jour, which I had selected! At the time of purchase, I did not notice the difference, as the packaging was pink and I trusted both the consultant and the store completely. Imagine walking into a beautiful store in a great mood, purchasing an expensive perfume, and later realizing you received something entirely different from what you chose. This completely ruined my mood and my overall shopping experience. I contacted customer support via WhatsApp, hoping for a resolution, but unfortunately the outcome was far from what I expected. There were no apologies from the store, and I was denied both an exchange and a refund on the grounds that the perfume had already been opened. I would like to thank Maya for at least forwarding my case to the store. It feels as though customers are valued only at the moment of purchase. When a genuine issue arises on the store's side, responsibility is avoided, leaving the customer with money wasted.
