I've been doing my own taxes for over 30 years. It's a pretty comprehensive return with lots of…read moreschedules, and I've been doing fine with it until my son started working last year, we started contributing to an IRA and 401k for him, college, etc. For the first time in 30+ years, there was a "new thing" to account for. Due to a forced 401k distribution/rollover/tax withholding, etc, I was a little unsure about how to handle it. I had an idea through research on the internet (and multiple LLM conversations), but I wanted to talk to a CPA or Tax person to confirm. I sent out a bunch of requests on Yelp to get quotes for a conversation that I estimated would take no more than 15-30 minutes just to make sure my understanding is correct. I got a bunch of replies ranging from $100-$385. Somebody even said I needed to complete an engagement letter to have the conversation! APEX sent me a message telling me how to address my tax issue with filings and what my expected outcome should be depending on whether or not my son owes taxes. He literally said, "You should be able to use Turbo tax to handle...if you have trouble use their support or take it to H&R Block...You don't need a CPA..." No quote. Just good and clear advice on what to do. I currently do not need any other accounting/tax assistance, but if I did, I would go to Apex -- not because they are "any more right" than any other CPA firm, but because they clearly value *YOUR* time and money -- not just theirs. I like to do business with good human beings who, to some degree, treat business like it's part of a community and not just a capitalist market. Recognizing that my need "wasn't a big deal" for their level of expertise and taking a few minutes to type out a solution with no request for compensation speaks more volumes about the business than people who have paid for the service, in my mind. If they can be this complete in answers for a person who isn't paying them a dime during the time of year when they are most busy and can treat this period like a "cash cow" and bill for every minute, then how complete, thorough and diligent do you think they will be for a paying client? At some point, I want to do more real estate investing -- I read in other reviews that Apex also has experience in this space. I will call upon them for sure if I ever need assistance. If you need financial solutions assistance, I highly recommend that you give Apex Tax and Financial Solutions a shot at your business.

First, he purposely didn't contact me or my brother. Second, I've e asked this guy four times in two years for a copy of the trust, and, even though bound by law to answer all of the beneficiaries questions in a timely manner, he refuses to send one or even return my calls. He threatened to disinherit his own daughter (my cousin) because she notified me and my brother of my grandfather's death and the existence of the trust. The first time in living memory that I met Greg, about 16 years ago at a family Christmas gathering, he insulted my father (his brother) severely, then told me if I ever needed anything, you know, since my father is no good, to give him a call. I called him a couple years later for help bailing out of jail on a marijuana charge. He didn't even bother to try getting in touch with me. I have a certified letter on the way to Mr. Greg Marks as I write this review. I will also be contacting BBB and whoever licenses this guy (the state, at a minimum). Will continue to update. If he's willing to lie AND break the law to spite his nephews for some unknown slight (of which I can think of none--he was never in our lives, just as he intended) what do you suppose he's willing to do to you?

Greg saved me a bundle on my 6-month extension, because of his excellent knowledge of the tax law, so I will have him do my 2019 taxes also.
