They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Have fun out there & do your research!

So it all started with a visit to Act auto to discuss our companies needs to have a local, trustworthy partner to make sure our fleet of 14 vehicles is up to date with normal maintenance and handle whatever else is needed. Carlos and I talked for about 15 minutes getting to know each other and our vehicles. We have an assortment of vehicles from a large box truck with a hydraulic lift gate to a ford escape. Carlos said he can take care of our whole fleet. We have been using about 5 different shops for different items and I was very happy to hear that it all could change by just using him. The discussion went great and since it was all talk so far I asked him for an estimate on a vehicle that was diagnosed and estimated at another local shop. I brought the vehicle in and he was able to look at it right away. Act auto diagnosed it as did the other shop but the big difference was it was $1,300.00 cheaper with them. The original estimate from the other shop was $2,800.00. I double checked the estimate, what parts were going to be used and found that the only difference was the cost! I hired Act auto to do the job. Carlos told me it will be done by the end of the following day. I received a call about 2 pm and it was all completed, and the diagnostic and pre-estimate was spot on with no changes. So, now I'm a fan of Carlos and his Act Auto team. They did exactly what they said with no changes. I was waiting to do this review to make sure this wasn't a one off. It has been a couple months and half of our fleet has been to visit Act autos day spa and no issues at all with the service and we have received very fair pricing! Thank you Carlos for running your business Act auto the right way and keeping that old school customer service alive, it has been noticed by our company ,our employees, my personal family and it is greatly appreciated. One more thing, I just sent my wife and her mother into to get her car serviced without me. I never would have sent two females into a mechanic shop without that trust that you and your team earned. Today is Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. I was driving and suddenly had no breaks! Brake pedal to the floor and an alarm that said, low break fluid. I stopped at an auto place and the guy looked under the car and said, you're leaking brake fluid from the right rear. He said there is great family-owned auto repair place two blocks down. There I met Emily! She said they could look at it today and she'd call me. She called about an hour later and told me it was a hose that had a bubble that had burst. What are the chances! She said they could fix it today if they could quickly get the part. Dropped off at about noon and picked it up at 3pm. And they were VERY BUSY. I'm so thankful. Emily is so professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. Then I met the mechanics and same thing! What a great place! read more

I stopped in at ACT Auto Center for an air bag sensor light problem as they're a new shop in Rancho Cordova. The owner (Carlos) was extremely pleasant and helpful from the moment I arrived. He checked/reset my sensor at no charge; unfortunately, I had to go back as it came on again and he determined I needed a new sensor. He said I could save $75 if I picked the part up myself at auto zone (who does that right). Another problem was detected while checking my air bag sensor so he replaced my sensor free of charge with my other repair. Carlos did an excellent job installing a fuel lift pump on my truck. From start to finish, he was professional, knowledgeable, and honest about what needed to be done. He explained the process clearly and made sure everything was installed correctly and running perfectly before I left. It's smog check up the road, and so I needed to drive it about 50 miles or so to "reset the car's computer, " before it would pass . I decided to stop here for an oil change before I did that, as the car was way overdue. I was helped by Mike. He's helped me before, he's always thorough, friendly, and helpful. He got me checked in, he told me the different options for an oil change, and I told him which one I wanted. They did the oil change, and I was out in about 15 to 20 minutes. The price was extremely reasonable. Everything was great. Before I left, on the side, I happened to mention that I had needed the oil change because of the smog check. He said, oh, before you take the car back to the smog shop, stop in here, we will do a pretest to make sure you drove enough to reset the computer. I said, no charge? Nope That was nice of him. I drove 45 miles "up the hill" to Pollock Pines, to look at all of the pretty new snow. I came back, it took less than five minutes to do the pretest, and he told me, "green lights all the way." I took the car back to the smog shop and passed with flying colors. As I mentioned, I've always gotten great service here at Danny's. Thank you, Mike, for taking that extra step for me. I truly appreciate it. I will be back.

If you look at the rare 1 star reviews, there are numerous inconsistencies, versus the numerous 5 stars in addition to the transparency provided by this shop. Today, I requested a diagnostic of a specific issue. I was already aware of what it "could" be and Danny took the time to show me what the issue was...a wheel bearing. it can be nice when the customer and the business end up on the same page. Sometimes that doesn't happen. Customers really should understand how the process works and how a business is run before getting "triggered". Always competitive pricing and this shop can do it all. Excellent customer service and they have an excellent shuttle service as well!

This shop is in the bank of auto shops on Vehicle Drive, between Coloma and Zinfandel. I called to make an appointment, and I was able to get in the same day. I show up, the shop is clean, and everybody was friendly and helpful. I explained that I had an appointment and a Groupon. She said it would be about a 45 minute wait. No problem at all, I waited in the lobby. 45 minutes later, the vehicle is ready. I finished up the Groupon paperwork with the lady, and head home. Everything seemed fine... UNTIL..... It wasn't until almost a week later, that I realized that they had never secured the hood to my vehicle. I had been driving around town, including on Highway 50 at freeway speeds. The hood could've easily come off, causing an accident to either myself, or worse, an innocent vehicle. Yes, I didn't catch it myself, but it was up to these people to do it right in the first place. This is unacceptable. I won't be back, Thanks anyway. Bye bye.

Within about 90 seconds they could tell my AC compressor was blown and told me. The quoted me for the entire system replacement (because you have to because of the debris and warranties), didn't charge me for this visit and asked me to consider things and call them back to setup an appointment to get it done, if I wanted to. This shop is AMAZING and the team is fantastic! I'm still debating on the work to get done, but no matter what, this is a stand up shop and honest mechanics.

They did a borescope of the cylinders and found abrasions on the cylinder walls and traced the noise towards the bottom of the engine. Unfortunately, to further troubleshoot they would have had to open the engine, a bit time consuming and a costly repair if the piston components were damaged. The news was unfortunate but I just wanted an honest assessment rather than just shotgunning parts like the last shop that tried to troubleshoot the issue.
