I moved into a house which had a gas boiler installed by ACR contractors.
After moving in, I noticed several problems with the boiler and there were some instructions left by the previous homeowner, specifically: pilot light failure and water pressure loss.
I noticed a gas smell in the cupboard also where the gas pipe was routed up to the boiler.
I had the head of the Gas Safe register come to inspect it, and he said there were several faults with the install which made the install considered 'unsafe', and these were:
* Pressure loss (4mb) on tightness test
* Excessive pressure loss when appliance was working.
* External pipework not sealed at exit point from property
Therefore the gas had to be turned off until this was rectified. Considering it was several years ago now they couldn't force them to rectify the fault, but clearly the previous homeowners didn't have a clue...
Appalling work and very dangerous. read more
