I have struggled with acne since I was 11 and no dermatologist has gotten it right - they have prescribed antibiotics, spiro, and accutane before even asking about my lifestyle. I really cannot believe I'm saying this - but - Veronika and Nadiya have changed my life! I've had acne problems for as long as I can remember - through high school, college, and then Cystic acne all through my 20's and early 30's - that left many scars. I had 2 VI Peels done at this clinic, for dark spots on my cheeks. Was very nervous about having chemical peel done, especially considering I had a very bad case of hyperpigmentation after a laser treatment years ago. After extensive research on VI peel and reading a lot of positive reviews on Acne Clinic, I finally went for it. Alexandra made everything easy breezy. She recommended the original VI peel, the mildest version, for the 1st time to make sure my skin could handle the chemical as a pre-caution. Only the second time, she allowed Precision Plus. Before and after each treatment, she took time to go through all the things I had to keep in mind- what to expect, what I should and should not do, detail instruction on the 2nd step that needed to be done at home to complete the procedure. The result on the dark spots was not dramatic, which was to be expected, but there was a small improvement each time. Before going in, I knew I would need multiple treatments. Therefore, I was satisfied with the results. In addition, the overall texture and the radiance of the skin turned incredible, although that was not my main concern. Everything went so smoothly and so easily, I made the misjudgment that VI Peel could be easily done anywhere. So I went to a different place for the 3rd peel, Manhattan Medspa on 23rd st, through Groupon to save some money. I have been a regular client at Acne Clinic for a little over a year. While I have seen MAJOR improvement in my skin there are pros and cons to everything. I was passed around from esthetician to esthetician constantly, which made it slightly more difficult to track progress because the way one person would work is different from another's. I was accidentally charged over $400 for the wrong service and while they were extremely apologetic, I never quite felt comfortable being charged for a service again. The esthetician's are extremely knowledgeable. However, while quarantined during COVID-19, I placed an order for skincare products which I received in a timely and prompt fashion. I noticed that one of the products wasn't what I asked for but was explained that while staying indoors it would be better for my skin. I started experiencing an allergic reaction to this product and explained it to my esthetician. She told me the ingredients and turns out I am severely allergic to one of the ingredients. After being denied a refund for 1) a product that I didn't ask for and 2) am severely allergic too, I have decided to search for another esthetician to help me along my skincare journey. I am extremely grateful for the knowledge they have passed along to me but unfortunately I will no longer be using their services. I started off with the consultation and treatment on my first day and didn't need consultation in the following sessions, as the Esthetician was very attentive to my case and kept track of my skins reactions and progress. Veronica was my Esthetician and she is the best! Not only is she knowledgeable in the field of acne, she is talented and caring. My skin cleared up in 3 months on strictly following the regime. Acne Clinic also gives you instructions on following the regime and helps you if you fail to follow the regime. You tend to learn how following the regime is very important as they may affect the results. I love the sessions - they are healing and relaxing. I'm so extremely disappointed with my visit to the acne clinic. I paid $200+ for a facial that lasted 15 minutes. I wish I was joking. While I understand the clinic focuses on corrective skin treatments, charging that much and not making the treatment worth the money was highly disappointing. It felt like a slap to the face when other spas are offering the same exact price for the same peel and at least making the service 40-60 minutes. I could not be more disappointed. The customer service up front was great, super welcoming. My esthetician wasn't the friendliest but she wasn't rude either, and unfortunately my appointment started 25 minutes late since they were running behind schedule. I could've looked past all of that if I felt the treatment was worth the cost, but 15 minutes is down right embarrassing. The allotted time for appointments should be clearly listed on the website. If I had known the treatment would be that short I would've gone somewhere else no problem or at least managed my expectations. I know this clinic does great work but unfortunately I won't be back. I came here after reading all the great reviews and seeing the pics w actual results. I signed up for the 3 sessions and bought the products and I'm lighter 600$+ but my face is the same and maybe a touch worse. The extractions are sometimes on places that are obviously not ready. Their solution is to stop using everything, basically detox and extract. Great if that works for you, but I was left with dark spots on aggressive extractions and my overall current state is about the same as when I started. Listen, maybe you need 6 treatments before seeing results, but these expensive treatments are nothing more than a facial with a qualified esthetician. So I'm done. I've really enjoyed my experience here thus far. I've been going for a few months now and gradually see my skin getting better. I personally really like how the treatment is specialized to me. They track your progress and each session my provider makes a small tweak or suggestion to my at home regimen. I really like this because in the past I've had dermatologists/facials that have left my face stinging, burning, irritated and worst of all more broken out. What separates this clinic from your standard dermatologist is that not only do they just give you topical treatment, but they examine your entire lifestyle to look for triggers that may be causing breakouts (what your eating, what makeup and hair products you use, etc.). In the past I've had dermo's recommend more standard advice such as cutting dairy, drinking more water, managing my stress, or keeping my hair out of my face but the specialists here are really thorough and in my ten years of having acne (I started getting it at age 14 and am now 24) a lot of the lifestyle and diet advice was new to me, including advice on supplements that could help me. The other thing I really like is that you pay per treatment. Meaning, that when you go in for a treatment, they can examine your skin in the moment and look the current at home regimen and decide what your skin needs at that moment. What's great about this is that it takes the guess work out of deciding what type of treatment you should be getting and you know that it won't clash with the at home regimen your using. I just want to say how thankful I am for this clinic! My esthetician's name is Nadiya. She is such a sweetheart. I have been going here since August of 2018. When I first came here I started off with just washing my face and moisturizing with their products for 3 months prior. I then did a enzyme extraction, which made my face SO soft and really clear for two months after. The only issue was I noticed I had a sheet of skin on my face that looked dry but also moisturized. It looked like I just needed to exfoliate. I have followed most of her directions and finally decided to do a chemical peel for the first time in February of 2019. Let me tell you. If you suffer from acne, this is the place to go. It's been a full month since I've done the chemical peel and my skin is extreamly clear, no small pimples no random breakouts. It's smooth and all of the dead skin is gone. I will Def do the chemical peel and enzyme extraction again. I don't suggest doing the chemical peel in the summer due to the sun exposure risk. The enzyme extraction is what I look forward to doing again. I believe my major issue before I discovered this place was the things I was eating and the fact that my skin was super dry and would sometimes break out but under my skin. A total NIGHTMARE, I decided to begin my treatment with acne clinic in march with a peel (rhonda allison chemical peel) which ended up burning my skin and causing terrible hyperpigmentation. I told Nadia about what the peel has done and she instructed me to purchase their tru skin face wash, toner, hydragel, and other products which I did and then upon checking their website found the same products COMPLETELY cheaper than what they sold it to me for in the clinic.($75 more than what I paid). So when I informed them about it they became dumbfounded and told me they forgot to update the prices on their website. Weeks into using the products I noticed I was breaking out terribly compared to what I usually experience, she insisted I now purchase more products, neglecting the fact that my skin was reacting to their products horribly. I went in for an acne consultation and let her know of my previous experience with the peel and how it caused my face to darken and made my skin feel raw, she them proceeded to tell me to buy their acne gel,glyco-retinol pads, and wipes which cost me $124.76. veronika was also not very welcoming to me because nadiya informed her that I picked up on them trying to scam me by pricing the products at almost $100 more than what its actually worth. She told me that I could be more "flawless" if I listed to them, and bought their products. As an African-american Woman I felt as though they were just trial testing their products on my skin which caused me to break out more, scar more and even burn my skin. The results from this place are incredible. I came in skeptical (despite the glowing reviews), because I've been on several treatments before, and none of them worked. The process here is quite detailed. During the consultation, Nadiya outlined exactly what foods I needed to avoid and what products to use during the AM/PM. It did involve buying several products (not surprisingly), but they are VERY reasonably priced. I then came in every two weeks for the next 3 months for chemical/enzyme peels and extractions. These are absolutely crucial to the treatment process. In terms of progress, the first two weeks went exactly as described: breakouts occurred as the skin purged everything from underneath. Thereafter, there were noticeable improvements every week until the end of the treatment. It really was a fascinating experience. I could literally see all my years of acne slowly disappearing. So I got a chemical peel here in an attempt to lighten some brown spots from some small pimples... The spots didn't get better I figured that it would take more than one session but after I healed from the chemical peel the number of brown spots I had doubled even if I didn't touch a white head and I had no clear skin moment before during or after. I came to Acne Clinic NYC after a decade of not knowing how to handle my acne prone skin, and a few months after starting a similar acne program in another city. When I moved to NYC, Veronika took my skin care regimen to the next level, making important adjustments in my products, helping me to get rid of makeup and haircare products that clogged my pores, and encouraging me to make dietary changes that have made a HUGE difference for me (dairy is definitely one of my triggers!). I have been struggling with acne on and off for 15 years and have been to many dermatologists who prescribed me antibiotics or expensive topical treatments and have tried all of the over-the-counter products imaginable. These treatments would work temporarily (6 months or so); however, they never provided consistent results, and I could never figure out what was causing my acne. Most significantly, she let me know that my skin was sensitive - this was news to me as I spent my life using harsh products, thinking my skin could handle it! So with this information, I decided to start their standard acne program. She shared a plethora of information about acne triggers that I was unaware of and recommended a skin regimen with milder products that she felt would help. I can't lie, after years of strong face washes and topical creams, I was nervous for a complete skincare overhaul in the opposite direction than I was used to, but I haven't looked back since! Using their products alongside my (excellent) regular gentle chemical peels and laser treatments with Karina has transformed my skin after four sessions. For the first time in a long time, my skin has been consistent, my breakouts have been minimal, my skin texture has improved, and skin redness has reduced significantly. It may seem pricey, but I've spent more money seeing countless dermatologists for temporary results, so, for me, the program's effectiveness is worth the investment. The women at Acne Clinic are incredibly knowledgeable (seriously, they know everything there is to know about acne, it's impressive), kind, and helpful, and offer fantastic additional resources from a pore-clogging ingredient checker to determine if your products are comedogenic to a contact number that you can text with photos or questions about your skin's progress that they respond to without fail! I am so grateful to have found the Acne Clinic, and am looking forward to my final two treatments included in the program (going to the clinic is honestly the highlight of my week!), and will 100% continue to be a client after the program is finished to maintain my results. read more

Awful people. My fiancée was very excited for her appointment here, but got sick on the day of her appointment. She still wanted to make it to the appointment, but her head was all mixed up and she got the time wrong. When I called to explain the situation and see if she could be fit in for another appointment, as we have a wedding to go to later this week, the woman who answered the phone had one of the worst attitudes of anyone I've spoken to in quite a while. All she kept saying was that we would have to pay for the missed appointment and that she was done working for the day so she didn't want to look at the appointment schedule to see if she could fit her in before the wedding. She said that my fiancée would have to go online to schedule another appointment for a time when she "could actually come in", as though she had initially intentionally scheduled her appointment for a day when she knew she would get sick. When I mentioned that we would be leaving for the wedding early Thursday morning, so we were hoping to get fit in for an appointment by Wednesday, then apparently the woman had no problem looking at her appointment schedule and informing me that the first available appointment she had was on Thursday. I strongly discourage anyone from giving these people your business and hope that this review saves other potential customers from having to deal with their customer-unfriendly and unacceptable business practices. Update: Just saw that someone from the business replied to my review. To that person, please re-read my original review. I was not complaining about the charge for missing the appointment, which is standard practice. What is not standard practice is behaving rudely and insultingly to your customers. read more

The girls are extremely professional and smart, they definitely know what they are doing and what is important their regiment helps! Since I started seeing them and using their products my skin condition has significantly improved and I do not have any blackheads, whiteheads, no acnies at all! Isn't in magic?! These estheticians are miracle workers. I've tried EVERYTHING under the sun to keep my face clear - prescription antibiotics and topicals, regular facials, all-natural routines, acupuncture - and nothing worked. But after working with these estheticians, my skin's never been better. Everyone is very sweet and attentive, and they never upsell me beyond what's recommended. They were very clear that the routine requires commitment, that it would likely take 3 months for things to clear up, and that my face would purge and get worse before it got better.
