The store recently installed gates at the check out area. You have to now scan your receipt to be allowed to leave the check out area. My problem arose at the self check out area. The machine I used ran out of paper and didn't print me a full receipt so I couldn't scan to exit because my paper receipt had no bar code. I was made to wait nearly 10 minutes while my receipt was reprinted just so I could exit the building. This added to not supplying hand carts at the entrances, they offer/supply no bags, and now you have to scan to leave the self check out area where their kiosks are constantly malfunctioning and they NEVER have enough check out lines open with human employees during peak hours. This place has become a nightmare to visit. No longer worth the time it takes to stop by here. Its no longer a quick in and out grocery store. read more

Store manager shouldn't be a manager. He was very rude and condescending on the phone earlier and doesn't take responsibility for the condition his store is in. Store not open when they should be either. Nobody should have to walk to the other side to see if it's open especially after opening hours. Just horrible all the way round. ACME Markets - Store manager denied this happened - Grocery Near Me - Wilmington, Delaware

Acme Pike Creek was our go to location for weekly groceries. Last week I went there mid morning and one of the doors was locked (sign said this door open at 8AM). So I found my way in another way and did my shopping. I checked out close to the exit door on that same side of the building. It seems that they have installed cart jamming strips (not sure what it is really called) at that exit and a poor woman trying to exit thought her cart was jammed. She pushed and pushed to try to exit the building as most people are used to doing at that store. The checker was trying to explain to her what the problem was but she still thought her cart was jammed and kept pushing. I (of course) then choose the other exit so I wouldn't encounter the same situation. I'm not sure if there is a really good reason for this to happen but I will not be going to shop there. this entire franchise, including on this very page they advertise that they take Apple Pay, but I've been in three different Acme's in this area and tried to use Apple Pay, and it says it even on their kiosk that they take Apple Pay, and they obviously do not. It never goes through, when you try to use it, they need to stop advertising that they take Apple Pay until they get their crap together and make sure that it works properly and stop wasting peoples time read more

Thank you Garrett, Cooper, Isaiah, Colyn and Mark and Geoffe. These gentlemen never complain about helping me during my shopping trips. Geoffe takes the time to help me find meats. He checks in the back with out me even asking if i cant find what im looking for. The other young men listed make my shopping trips, as well. Whether its helping me with a cart, putting groceries in my car, helping me find items. They are personable, friendly and well spoken.i think its Great that hires such employees. They are an assett to the store. Its refreshing to park and have someone offer you a cart, or ring your items with a smile and positive attitude. Thanks guys! I have never, in all my days of working retail or being a shopper, experienced better customer service than I do at this Acme. On a consistent basis, the staff is kind, courteous, upbeat, and just beyond helpful. I am offered a cart practically as soon as I get out of the car by the young men working in the lot. Employees smile and greet me, and often stop to fawn over my children. Cashiers pleasantly ask me if they may ring me up (instead of being annoyed if I choose their line, like some stores I know). I drive past 3 stores with somewhat lower prices on the same merchandise to go to this Acme, because I know it will actually be a fun experience. And how many people grocery shopping with 2 very small children say THAT? read more

Usually my go-to store in the area. Better than Pathmark but not as good as the Pile Creek Acme. I went last week, specifically to buy some clementines. Within three days the whole box was moldy and rotting. I will be shopping the Pike Creek location from now on. read more

I will never buy produce from this store again. Peppers are rotted from the inside out, Clementine's are dry, Watermelon is rotten as are blueberries and this is just from my last cpl of visits. They used to have nice produce, not anymore! read more

This location notorious for extra long lines in deli and checkout. I was there to pick up a few things for one of my clients and it took more time to checkout than it did to locate the items. Not my favorite market for this specific reason. read more

Acme is Great. People are just way too needy these days. Complaining about anything and everything. Get a therapist is you want attention.

Just stopping by to get in on some of the items on sale, can't beat that. Everyday there is something on sale here.

I will never go shopping anywhere else besides ACME for groceries! We always call ahead to make sure that our favorite check out guy Brian is working since my daughter will not get in line with anyone else! He is always so happy and entertaining but if he's not there we'll go to self check out with Chad who is also amazing thanks for the wonderful experience you have us every time we come! Also love the circus day to keep my daughter entertained with a balloon and cookie plus a whistle and now my favorite fruit shopping pass for kids to get a piece of fruit while parents are shopping! Each and every time I visit the deli and seafood department , I'm hoping that I'll get someone kind who will take my order. NEVER, EVER HAPPENS. I wonder at times if these thoughtless people were hired on purpose or what? The front cashiers are not as bad, but the back of the store employees need a course on "customer service." I'm hoping the next Acme I choose to go to, doesn't have the same rude, and unprofessional personnel, because then it'll be confirmed that its conspiracy. I gave this one star just so that I could do a review, however, if there was a "zero" option, that would've been my choice. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Bring in the bulldozer! It's time for a new neighborhood grocery store, this acme sucks. I hate this store! If it weren't for the monopoly tickets I would not be in the store ever again! Tyasia ignored me while I stood there waiting for her to start ringing up my items. She mumbled three things during my time there, not a clue what she said. Then I went to the customer service desk to ask for my monopoly tickets and had to wait for 2 of the girls to stop chatting to the cashiers behind me. They were out of them. Whatever not their fault but they were all just so annoyed, pissy and very unpleasant! Enough about the great customer service let's talk about their moldy produce that is out for sale. It's moldy, brown, and they still try to sell it and it's even over-priced. Also, check the expiration dates if you shop here. Definitely never shopping here again! read more

Went to location needed assistance at 1030 on a Friday night... cashier said that there was no other employee in the building who could help me. He gladly helped the lady in front of me but blewI me off saying that they were out of the product. I just left the Centerville Rd location in Wilmington. I know that he lied.. they don't help African Americans but eagerly help Caucasians. read more

I love the store but can't stand the cashier "Sandy" that I always seem to get. She is incredibly weird & unfriendly. Every time I go through her lane it goes down exactly like this- I begin unloading and usually smile and say hello to which she'll scowl and either ignore me or parrot back "Hello..hello!?" . Sometimes if I'm a beat too slow in greeting her she'll snarl out a "Hello???" and then act as if I've just insulted her dear dead mother/aunt/ whoever. While she throws ( yes throws) my items in bags she actively looks to talk to other employees who pass by and the convos usually go like- " They/She/ better not go over her break/ do this/ or else I swear to God" at which point she begins glaring at me as if I'm the offending party or that I might speak up to defend whoever it she's raging about. This continues until the end of my transaction- the scowling, the rolling of eyes, the sarcasm. And God help you if you're doing the Monopoly games and she's got to count out playing pieces. This isn't a case of I just caught "Sandy" on a bad day- this is every single visit to this store, which thankfully doesn't happen often unless I'm in the area. So glad Pathmark down the street became Acme. It's isn't as updated or as nice but I'd rather deal with that than the Annie Wilkes working the register at this place. read more
