History
Established in 1973.
Acme Liquor Store began in the early 1970s, and after undergoing various moves around town, the Majestic Plaza was built around it in 1997, where it expanded to its two current storefronts. In 2012, Acme Liquor was purchased by locals Peter and Amanda Cook. Peter had worked at Acme for seven years prior to ownership, and he and Amanda hope to provide only the best selection of beer, wine, and liquor to the people of Crested Butte.
Meet the Business Owner: Pete C.
Peter moved to Crested Butte in 2002 with three things on his mind: hang gliding, hockey, and extreme telemark skiing. He found them all in the gorgeous mountain town he's now called home for fifteen years. After finding love, marriage, and family, Peter was able to purchase Acme Liquor Store on December 12, 2012 and he has been managing it full-time ever since. He has great expertise in wines from around the world and hopes to be a wealth of knowledge to the people of Crested Butte.
