I used to have a dentist in Houston who "upsold" me several times and probably gave me fillings that I didn't actually need. In all these years, I've never been upsold by Dr. Frost or her staff. In one instance, about 5 years ago, where I severely cracked a tooth that could not be saved, Dr. Frost and her staff handled getting it fixed and I have not had a problem with it since. The staff at Frost Dental are amazing. Easily the best staff I've dealt with whether compared with other medical facilities or even in the corporate world. He is expensive, but especially if you have anxiety about dental work, he…read morehas no bedside manner or interpersonal skills--he is only interested in his time and money, he does not care about your comfort, you cannot expect any reassurance from him and he's unwilling to work with you. Although he says he does sedation dentistry, he only uses oral sedation, you cannot get I.V. sedation and be knocked out completely. I had an abscess and pain was at at level of about 25, so I was desperate for help. He will not prescribe anything stronger than Tylenol or ibuprofen for pain. He did give me antibiotics which started to help in 24 hrs, but pain level still at about 10. I agreed to root canal with just oral sedation, but due to major trauma in the past with the rubber dam and having my mouth clamped open which made me totally freak and feel like I could die, I was hesitant that oral sedation would be enough. I was in a panic when I arrived for the root canal and tried to talk to him about how he would work with me if I started to freak out. He became angry and upset with me that I wasting his time and if I left he would lose 3 hrs of money. I couldn't believe how nasty he was and he said if I leave he would never be my dentist again -- that was fine with me. As poor as he is with people, though, his staff was so kind and concerned about my comfort and I liked them very much. Too bad they work with a terrible dentist.

On 12/16/24, I had teeth whitening done on the upper & lower arch. Even though I told them that my insurance pays for 50% of each arch, the lazy office staff did not verify my coverage, but instead has me pay in full and said they would issue a credit when the insurance paid their portion. Fast forward to March 2025, I go in for an appointment and bring them 2 letters that my insurance company has sent them asking for additional information on the whitening service that I had. PMD had never responded to the request for information!!! Now I am asked to pay for that days appointment when i should have had a credit on my account! Fast forward again to July 2025, I am scheduled for an appt on the 21st. This time I call the office prior to my appt and STILL no credit. My insurance paid them $227 which should now be a credit on my account. I am furious. I cancelled my appt and I will no longer do business with these people. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB and TSBDE! Next, it will be small claims court. It is really stupid that I have to waste time on this! BEWARE! Make them verify services with the insurance.
