Super nice, friendly, and smart about his field and what he thought was best for me. We talked about me and what I do, did, and want to with this body that I have beaten slap to death. Then we talked about him where he came from (local kid) and where he studied and did his residency. He was born and raised here and did his residency in the big apple at the best joint replacement hospital in the country. He chose the this particular hip contraption cause of what I want an need to be able to do with my life and work. I will say that everyone in this office was very sweet and helpful. They know I was in pain went out of their way to make me and the wife comfortable. Never being operated on before I was nervous and scared. Doc I guess felt that and comforted me. I will say that the surgery and before and after included and very good doctors visit. He told me how my old hip was and it wasn't pretty but the new one was all bright and shiny. He even wrote Go Gators on the probe in my leg bone. JK but I feel he would have if I asked. I just returned from our post op visit and I got my first look at my new hardware. I do know it has only been 13 days since I took possession of this hip it is working better and better everyday. I know it is cause of Dr Frykberg's talent. I will also say that he learned today that his one guilt pleasure is Maple Street Biscuit Companies food so you know what I did? Yep the office had breakfast on me this morning and will every time I return. He was genuinely happy when I returned with biscuits for him and his side of the office. I would very highly recommend JOI and Dr. Frykberg for anyone needing hip or knee replacement after all he is that good.

Instead I got a steroid cream and eventually they did a biopsy on my glans to check for cancer , which I did not have. Since the biopsy I've experienced bleeding from my penis either randomly or when I'm having a hard bowel movement and find myself straining. It's been bleeding now for 2 years. I can't get an erection without it bleeding. I also cannot wash properly because they never properly addressed the phimosis. Any attempt to wash the area causes great pain and bleeding. It's been going on for 2 years now and I refuse to go back. I'm afraid to have anyone else look at it because touching causes such pain and not being able to properly wash the area is a real embarrassment. Find another place to go. Don't let them take you into surgery. Get another opinion. Seek help elsewhere.

I am so happy to find this clinic. Everyone is willing to help you. The medications they have on site are a huge help. The Dr.'s really listen to your needs and take their time with you. The first apt is long but it is because the Dr's sit down and listen to what you have to say and between the patient and Dr you come up with where to start and the best timeline for your needs. They have Primary doctors, nurse practitioners, Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, Podiatrist, Ophthalmologist, Urologist, Mental Health, Weight Management, and more! They even have a Pharmacy! Since all the doctors volunteer their time when they are not attending to their main office, appointments for specialists can fill up quickly. However, when you have an appointment for 1:00pm, you will be seen at 1:00pm! The appointments are very "on-time"! VIM is also an excellent place to volunteer and give back to your community! I have been volunteering in the front office for 6 months now and I absolutely love what I do. The Director of Medicine, Dr. Findley, is THE BEST! She's a leader who isn't afraid to "get her boots dirty"! Military and Police phrase. ‍ So if you know someone in the Jacksonville Fl area who has a job or a family member who has a job but cannot get health insurance, call 904-399-2766 and ask for the "Qualifying Department" to see if you qualify. Leave your name and contact number if you get a voicemail because they respond back to you fairly quickly! It doesn't take long to find out if you qualify. Nearly impossible to get in contact with anyone from McIver. Had a large (45mm+) staghorn kidney…read morestone and was told to go to the ER to get a stint to relieve pressure. After going to the ER and eventually admitted to the hospital with an operation scheduled by McIver, 2 days later they said they are not doing the stint and was sent home. A huge bill and nothing to show for it. While in pain and pissing blood, they scheduled a follow up 2 week later mentioning it's only 1 kidney, people have 2 kidneys and they can live with 1 kidney. Randomly, 5 days before the appointment they cancel the appointment. Still have a large kidney stone, a large medical bill, but no treatment and nothing can be scheduled or planned to help. McIver is useless. If you need any kind of medical treatment, stay away.
