I grew up in Westchester County, NY, but no longer lived there and needed to update my parents…read moreWill. After asking several people for referrals and getting very little help, I decided to use Yelp to search a local "Will & Trust" lawyer. I read over several reviews for lawyers who were relatively close to my parents location and the only one that popped out was Anthony Nigro. With that said, I picked up the phone and called him. His receptionist was very friendly, and put my call right through to him. Anthony was very friendly and answered all of my questions concerning their Will. It was just before the Holidays and his schedule was full but after I told him my situation and that I was flying in from LA, he made time to fit us in right before Christmas. He answered all of my emails right away and confirmed our appointment the day before we met. I knew that I had made the right choice in working with him but my parents are tough, and I wasn't sure how they would feel. However, as soon as Anthony walked in the door and brought us into the conference room I could tell that they were impressed. He made the process very simple and explained the updates that would be made then asked both of my parents if it was what they wanted before he proceeded. When we left the meeting, he assured me that I could have the new documents signed and copied before I headed back to LA. Now let's not forget, this all took place just a few days before Christmas (Anthony has 2 young children)! He worked on them over the weekend and contacted me to see if we could do the signing on December 27. He also offered to come to my parents house to make it easier. At the signing my cousins who were witnesses to the new Will, also liked Anthony and asked for his business card. So, a HUGE Thank you to Anthony Nigro, Esquire! We were all very impressed with this young lawyer. Anthony went above and beyond for my family! I HIGHLY recommend him xoxo!

Purchasing your first co-op in Manhattan can be an incredibly stressful experience. The process,…read morepaperwork, and legal verbiage can be overwhelming and all-consuming - and I'm an attorney, so I'm used to death by a thousand paper cuts. After interviewing several firms, I was quickly impressed by my first conversation with Kacey Rosemberg. She is sharp, a straight shooter and breaks it down to plain English, always advocating for you as her client. She caught several issues which could have cost us the co-op - and as buyers without a broker, it was critical to have a strong legal advocate on our side. Kacey, Nathalie Marcille, Andres Armada, and Jordan Daniels are also very patient and responsive. They never let questions go unanswered for more than twenty-four hours, often responding within minutes, and we exchanged hundreds of emails! BONUS: if your transaction does not move forward, Katz will not charge you anything on the good faith basis that you will consider using them for your next transaction. That gave us comfort that they were just as invested as us in the process. Katz are consummate professionals, fairly priced, and know the key players in the real estate market, making the process from contract to closing a flawless transaction. Make an investment in your peace of mind, and one of the biggest monetary investments of your life. You won't be disappointed.

I mention this 1) so that you make sure to check out the other pages (search for "levin law" or "yevgeny" - all 1 star reviews) and 2) because they removed my negative review based on "it was posted on 2 different companies so it must be fake." I'd guess they are taking down many negative reviews based on this flimsy excuse, so be aware. So....here's my experience. I was a seller, trying to do a sale of my apartment. I had a buyer lined up and ready to go, so it was lawyer time. Great! And they're cheap, how complicated could a straightforward apartment sale be for a company that obviously churns them out? The problem came when my buyer got spooked by some of the language in the contract they received. I don't know if it was their lawyers being dumb, or something the Levin firm had done because NO ONE WOULD TALK TO ME. It's even possible they were doing some kind of amazing job behind the scenes, but I'd never have known it. Because: I literally never got any contact with an actual lawyer. I called, I emailed, I had my broker call and email. Nothing. This despite the promises they make on their website. In fact, I'd probably let it all go if they didn't guarantee in writing that you will have a lawyer's phone number and be able to contact one directly when you need to, because that is NOT the case.
