People with allergies beware: due to the old building, the cats, and the plants, this may trigger sensitivities. All that aside, if I'm hopping around Southern NH, I'd be sure to check this place out.

It has turned into a tourist magnet over the past 10 years and the place is small and crowded with people who can't figure out how to pass each other while browsing. The prices are very high, but what isn't lately? I don't really feel compelled to buy anything here because it's hard to navigate the small overcrowded parking lot without getting hit as it is, let alone carrying a big tree. My daughter did buy some nice hanging plants.

We bought more daylilies than I had expected, lol, and my wife even got a new cultivar named after a family member, additional fee required. Up the road a little (20 mins) from Brattleboro. I hired Taylor for Flowers for my October wedding and they certainly didn't disappoint (see…read morephotos). I asked for huge centerpieces (16 of them to be exact) and while I did provide some inspiration photos, much of my ideas were a mish-mash. Cue Alva-Jean and her husband Dan...they smartly had me in to do a trial run with the flowers and I was able to view the mock design of the centerpieces, say yes, say no, add this or add that, take this away, and put that over here. Once that was all done, I had a beautiful mock up and Alva-Jean had a clear vision of what I was going for. The day of - I was delivered gorgeous white and lavender rose bouquets, the men all had gorgeous roses pinned to their lapels and the honored ladies had corsages. And man...those centerpieces were the star of the reception hall...they helped to transform the room! They were a hot commodity at the end of the night ... each of the flowers were built into a bowl that rested on top of the glass vase so that guests literally could take the flowers out of the vase and hit the road! The flowers were delivered on time (and personally by Alva-Jean and her husband). She even took the time to pin the brooch from my mother onto my bouquet. She was very communicative both by email and by phone through the whole process and it was a complete pleasure to work with her. I am so happy with the outcome...amazing florist!

I've been to a lot of hardware stores and my local Ace stores are nowhere near what this Ace…read more/Hamshaws store is: by far, 1) size: this store is a decent square footage. I prefer to go to smaller stores than the big box superstores when I can to support local smaller business and to get things more quickly- this size has plenty to offer but it's faster than walking through a mega store to get a few screws or a new tool. 2) selection: hands down, this store has far more in stock than all other Aces and local smaller stores when it comes to power tools/ power tool option models from Dewalt, Makita, craftsman, black and decker and Bosch- among others. Decent selection of most things you could ever need for your projects and household stuff. Any time I've ordered online the order is there and ready. Recommended.
