I am hooked on the FIT Heavy Bag Class. I haven't tried any of the other classes, but I enjoy the workout. It's a great way to sweat, build endurance/cardio, burn calories, and actually learn some boxing/kickboxing techniques. I've had classes with multiple instructors. Phabion really emphasizes technique. Chad does a mix of technique as well as making you sweat. Raleigh emphasizes the fitness aspect and makes you work your core and build your cardio. The class size is mixed (sometimes it's only a handful of people and other times it is fully packed). There is something really cool about putting on hand wraps, a pair of boxing gloves and start hitting a heavy bag. It really builds your strength and it makes you sweat. I love this class so much that I signed up for a 6 month membership after my groupon deal ended.

For anyone with younger children, I would DEFINITELY check out their open gym time to get a feel for the place. The facility is extremely clean and well-run, the equipment is in excellent condition, and I am conststantly impressed with how professional, creative, and genuinely happy to be there the instructors are- from Master Chung himself down, they all seem to LOVE teaching skills to children. (And not in a cheesy way!) I would definitely recommend the sports skills class to anyone with a child in the 2.5-5 year range. My niece is learning so much and becoming so much more confident in her abilities. Unlike other similar classes I've observed at other locations, Bruce Chung's makes sure that all the children in the class are engaged, with minimal time just sitting around waiting their turn. VERY pleased with this class!

From day one, the level of detail, attention, and care given to each student has stood out. The instructors do an excellent job meeting kids where they are, keeping them engaged while still building focus, discipline, and confidence. It's clear they truly understand how young children learn and develop. Master Jeung runs an exceptionally well-organized program. You can feel the structure, professionalism, and genuine passion behind everything they do. We visited several "box-brand" martial arts schools before choosing WSJ, and the difference in approach is night and day -- this feels intentional, personal, and student-focused rather than cookie-cutter.

They work with their students to build a foundation of discipline, respect, and self confidence while teaching proper technique and forms. I strongly recommend WS Jeung Taekwondo for anyone who is looking to get into Taekwondo, self defense, or even just looking for a way to get active on a fun and supportive environment.

Under the leadership of one of the truly few World Renowned Martial Arts Grandmasters, Kaicho Nakamura and his son, successor, and Chief Instructor, Nidaime Nakamura, Seido has become an integral part of not only my life but my entire family as well. A global organization with branches on almost every continent in the world, training is focused on "Karate-Do: The training of mind, body, and spirit to realize the fullness of human potential". As a true traditional Japanese martial art, training is comprised of a dedicated approach to mastering the fundamentals as building blocks to advanced and more complex techniques and requirements as one progresses at their own pace. You will sweat and push yourself, at times, further than you thought you can be pushed. Having trained at The Westchester branch for over 6 years this month, Seido has become an important part of my life where everyone focuses on the concept of Renma, "Keep Polishing" (Improving), regardless of physical ability, age, or rank. So much so, that my wife and I made the decision to introduce our elementary aged twin daughters to Seido earlier this year. The children's program is wonderful and puts exceptional credence to safety, development, and building confidence among the kids and teens. I've witnessed this firsthand as I help assist children's classes periodically. It's been a pleasure to refer Seido to many of our close friends, who also are either members themselves or enrolled their kids in the children's program and train with my girls. All of the instructors are wonderful people who I would trust with my daughters implicitly, without reservation. The organization as a whole attracts high caliber people from different walks of life, who bring a common denominator to the Seido community of being a genuinely good person. I couldn't recommend Seido enough to anyone and everyone. Having never trained in the martial arts before, yet always curious, as challenging and demanding as training is, the hardest part for me was getting the courage up to walk through the door on a particularly cold March evening in 2016. The rest has been exceptionally fulfilling, you won't regret it!

One of the best aspects of this dojo is having such a strong, skilled, and empowering female Sensei leading the way. Sensei Milada has an extraordinary ability to connect with students of all ages, making every class both fun and productive while still instilling discipline, confidence, and respect. As a left-handed child, my son was thrilled when Sensei explained that they train students to be ambidextrous, which not only strengthens martial arts skills but also improves overall coordination. Over the years, I've watched him grow not just physically, but mentally and emotionally--gaining strength, focus, discipline, and confidence that extend far beyond the dojo. What truly sets Sensei Milada apart is her emphasis on mindset. She consistently teaches the kids to focus on being better than they were yesterday, rather than comparing themselves to others. That lesson alone has been life-changing. As a mother, she has also helped me tremendously--guiding me in how to support my son's growth, keep him focused on his own progress, and apply those same principles in our daily lives. That impact reaches far beyond karate, and I'm deeply grateful for it. I am also absolutely thrilled to be joining Sensei Milada's women's empowerment class! It is an unbelievable full-body workout that also teaches practical self-defense regardless of your size, confidence and strength--both physical and mental. It's empowering, challenging and incredibly rewarding! Now my son and I can practice together at home! I truly cannot recommend Sensei Milada and Brewster Karate enough--whether you're looking for an amazing environment for your child or a dojo for yourself. Sensei Milada and her team have created something truly special and we are so thankful to be part of the Brewster Karate family!
