The young person behind the counter gave us a corner table in the back which I truly appreciated because obviously we were trying to spend time together. We weren't drinking but it seemed that they only served beer and things like that because it didn't seem like there was liquor. The most odd thing about the place was the music. I think they must have a jukebox. It played the most random music from old country to modern hip-hop to gangster rap and then even older country it was very very bizarre and almost distracting. It lead to some silly conversation. The staff were very attentive. They checked on us often and took care of us. The ladies room kind of had a weird area where it was behind the wall and it was difficult to feel completely secure on the way back there. But the bathrooms was clean. We drove from Houston to visit local family in Brenham and this used to be where we meet but not anymore unfortunately all thanks to the newley appointed manager Riley. We sat at the bar and watched the Astros game, had 5 beers in about 5 hours and when my wife FINALLY asked for another beer she was denied...Riley had said that she would no longer serve us as she saw signs of intoxication... I'm not sure what she saw ...maybe the talking with other patrons or the feeding of the jukebox, whatever she think she saw we are still in shock to say the least... After we paid our bill we left and our Uncle stood up for us and was also asked to leave. He thought he had built up a repour over the months with the staff but it seems things have changed.

The bar had a lot of random mixers and liquors but plenty to work with however staff had limited knowledge of basic cocktails. Overall the staff was kind! Ambiance was nice - nice upgrade to the furniture and flooring. The bar stools at the bar sat very low (my date was 6ft and uncomfortable) so they may need to be considered for replacement as well. They had a DJ and a dance floor that was nice too!

The staff has changed and the table carpet is not as fresh as it used to be. But the tables are still nice for the area. The only issue I could say I have is the hound taste working the floor OCT 31st was more worried about the league players than us on the other side. I somewhat understand this as they were the primary market that night. Still a great place and better than any other establishment in the city.
