We love Aly. After many failed attempts at getting our sons' haircut after moving from California, we stumbled across her at another establishment. We explained we wanted our boys to have longer mullets. She did a phenomenal job. So, when she moved to Aces and Eights, we had to follow. We've been going to her for well over a year now. She cuts my husband and our three sons hair. Almost every time they get a fresh cut, they immediately get compliments on their hair. We recently had a daughter and if we are still local, I plan to take her for her first haircut with Aly because she is the only one I trust to do what I want and do it well. As far as Aces & Eights, it has a good vibe and love the atrium so my boys can hang out safely and play while they wait for each other to get their cuts. My son wanted to re perm his hair so we asked the girl how much was it going to cost and she said $45. We went 2 days later to the appointment and after she was done she charged us $200!!!! Typical Midland Tx , RIP OFF! Paid $55 for haircut and shave... the shave was half effort at best, partial straight razor and partial electric razor. Hot towel was short lived. Mustache trim was extremely uneven. When it came time to pay, that process was very smooth no issues there. They got that part figured out perfectly. I hate everything about this place. read more

Absolutely loved this place my fiance went yesterday as a walk-in (we now know to book ahead) and they took care of him quickly. The staff was extremely friendly and hilarious. Cool idea that allows you to make an appointment online. Problem is they don't honor them because they also take walk ins that throw the schedule off. Showed up 5 minutes early for appointment and finally left after waiting 40 minutes. Just go to Super Cuts or similar place. There is no difference. read more

Very unique joint. Love the atmosphere. I've been a few times. The cut quality was inconsistent and depended on who cut it. I usually try to get Mike, he's a cool guy. Cash only, prices went up recently. Wait time depends on when you go. I've gotten in right away, another time had to wait over half and hour. They're one of the only places in town that sell Shiner Gold pomade (sometimes, they've been out lately ). The building they're in looks kind of abandoned but don't let that scare you off. I arrived early and finally 30 minutes after my appointment time I went in and asked how much longer, there were 2 of the lady barbers sitting around talking. This place is nice. It has lost of traffic so expect a wait, but there are many barbers that work there so it goes fairly quick. They have drink for $2 if you want. The vibe is almost that of a old tattoo parlor. I would suggest this place if you like a good haircut. They also do beard trims and shaving. Booked a week in advance and the barber scheduled for that day messaged me 45 min before stating that they had an appointment and could not commit. I understand that things happen but if YOU have an appointment then that indicates that you had it planned and should handle your business with your clients from there. Do not wait until the last minute! Then promising the same time slot to another barber to pick up where you fell off then not relaying anything more is very unprofessional. Following through is a very important aspect in business. Take your business serious! I would have been a loyal customer if things had worked out. Not a very "Midland like" establishment. Vibrant, unique interior that fuels a exciting vibe. Technology driven to streamline the wait process, a compute aids your check in with the ability to select a stylist (with wait time for each stylist) and your desired service. Been to this place twice recently during stated business hours and they were closed. People have to drive all the way across town to get to you, keep your hours. Very unprofessional but it's Midland so what do you expect? Good/quick cuts but I suggest you call prior to driving over just to make sure. 3 stars for being an ok cut, minus one for unpredictable hours. read more
