Called to reconfirm the start date, Troy answered while on the golf course, did not know anything, and did not confirm the start date as requested. Not surprisingly ACE did not arrive on the scheduled start date. We are now working with a different company. We do not recommend ACE. read more

The workmanship is terrific and they were tremendously flexible seeing as we had to change work dates a couple of times. Never had any trouble reaching them and the overall value was top-notch. Troy and Ace Floor pick up the phone but don't honor their commitment and lack integrity in dealing customers the minute there is a issue. They started what was supposed to be a 3 day stair case sanding and refinish job on 6/14/2023. They sanded for 2 days and said they would return on Monday, with still 2 days of staining and poly to go it was now a 5 day project. No big deal we want it done right and the crew worked very hard. After no showing we called, and were promptly told the schedule was full and they would come back in a week. We explained we had been told they team would return Monday and the job was already under way. How is it possible we are not on the schedule? We also explained we had other trades coming in and would need it done within the week. Troy promptly told us he could not help us and suggested we part ways. I would have expected him to say we will get someone out soonest and how can we make it right to keep your business in the future. This company is a volume business and you are a number. I would stay clear, they lack ethics and integrity. The owner is abrasive and unclear why he's even in a customer service based business. If you read his responses on yelp he lacks any accountability , he deflects and blames the customer, who are just trying to get a job done at the agreed to terms. Better options out there! If I could give this place zero stars, I 100% would. I had such a terrible experience with this store and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone, not even an enemy if I had one. I had shopped around for hardwood floors and stopped into this location. I first went into the store in April and came across a very friendly and helpful associate, Rick, who's probably their only saving grace. After speaking to Rick and getting a sample went home to look at it in my space. After a few days I returned and unfortunately Rick was not there due to be being out sick. The owner, Troy, was there. He helped me find another hardwood that I liked more, and PROMISED me that I would be able to get it in 3 weeks. Due to Covid delays, 3 weeks sounded amazing because everyone else was saying 8-10 weeks out. Of course, I did what everyone else would do and decided to go with Ace - because of their promise alone. I purchased the floors on 5/3. After 3 weeks, I reached out to Troy to ask about the eta of my hardwoods. He "forwarded" a text from the supplier and had the excuse of bad weather, truck delays, Yada yada. I was given another delivery date of 6/8. As you would guess, after 6/8 and still no hardwoods or communication, I reached out to Troy and was "forwarded" yet another text from the supplier with a 6/28 date. I then called Troy and relayed that I felt that I was being dicked around. He even agreed that i was being jerked around (but never apologized). At this point, I've had kitchen cabinets delivered, front doors waiting to be installed, and central air installation waiting to be finished. I went to the store and spoke to Rick and Troys brother to get an answer. They then gave me a 7/5 ship date. From Canada! I was promised 3 weeks from the owner himself. Two minutes after I had left the store, Troy called me and yelled at me for wanting answers. As if his "forwarded texts" should have sufficed. He legitimately raised his voice to me and gave me two options - 1. Wait or 2. Get a refund. I 100% asked for my money back. Not only did the Owner himself give me a false promise, he never followed up with me, only sent me forwarded texts, never once apologized for my wasted time, AND had the audacity to yell at me. Again, I would never ever give my hard earned money to a business like this. Not only for his false promise, but rather because of the way he yelled at me both as a customer and a woman. We purchased a home and found a major issue with the dining room hardwood flooring right before closing. I emailed Ace on the holiday weekend and Troy called me back first thing on Tuesday. They were not available but called back less than an hour later to let me know they would be able to help us as they had a crew become available due to a delay on another job. Troy met us at the home right after our house closing that day and they completely replaced the upstairs flooring and master bedroom with hardwood and refinished the hardwoods throughout the first floor and staircases in less than a week. It was a "miracle" completed by Ace. They also designed and re-engineering our stair railing in the process for us. I can not say enough wonderful things about the end product; it is nothing but perfect!!!! I would recommend this company to anyone. They are amazing! read more

We hired ace flooring to carpet our second floor of our home. From the sales aspect of the business they were great, but the follow through was awful. After you purchase the carpet they hand it off to a sub contractor and then put all the responsibility on the sub. Truly not what we expected. I sent him these photos and an email saying I wanted to give them the opportunity to fix it. Not even necessarily for free, but like, I want it fixed. The gaps in the floorboard aren't the same pictures- those are all different gaps. He said well, that's not my fault, this isn't my fault. You're going to have to find someone else to do it. Horrible. One star is even over the top. Customer service is non existent. They sub out their work, (this was not mentioned to us either) so it's not even the Ace guys who are going to show up at your door. Turns out, the sub was much easier to deal with than the Ace salesman, so we lucked out there. The salesman was condescending and rude to not only the sub contractor but to us as well. Tried to excuse his poor customer service by telling us that it's because he does 1500 carpets a year & it's hard to keep track of his customers. How is that our problem? Took 3 separate appointments to finish our reasonably sized area. It was such a pain to get these 3 appointments scheduled - because Ace did not help. The sub contractor was told by Ace to directly deal with us. So what exactly does Ace do other than just have a showroom? The mystery continues ... The cherry on top of it all was when the poor sub had to directly call us looking to get paid. Told us that Ace told them to call us regarding payment. We were shocked because again, we thought that was the whole point of going through Ace in the first place. Those poor subs don't deserve that after all the hard work they did. Bottom line, out of putting on an entire addition on our home, scheduling and installing carpeting was the MOST difficult task, thanks to Ace. Save yourself the nightmare, shop elsewhere. read more

Horribly poor quality and shoddy work: chatter marks across all rooms, gouge marks everywhere, dirt and hair trapped within the finish. Ace offered to come back to 'fix' their work but their work was so poor I don't trust them in our home to do any better next time. They admitted the lousy work and offered to refund a small part of our money- not nearly enough to have the work redone, along with the hotel, movers, cleaning expense. if you hire Ace, DO NOT pay them until the floor is dry and you can inspect their work. Once they get your money you have to take them to court to get treated fairly. read more

I had a rug installed in a condo I rent. The installers were nice and did a good job but the communication between the installers and Ace management is horrible. The installers were not aware that they had to move furniture and tear out the old rug. They also asked me if they had to carpet the stairs. I ended up having to help the younger installer move my furniture and as a result am sore and my back hurts 2 days later. The owner sent 2 men to help with the rest of the furniture moving and didn't charge me the moving fee after I called to complain. Needless to say, it was a stressful experience when it didn't have to be. I don't understand why this happened. It's not their first rodeo. read more

We live in an old house that had painted pine floors upstairs and more recent oak floors on the first floor. The first floor needed a patch of a couple of square feet where kitchen cabinets had been. Phil matched it perfectly, and he and Matt and one other worker (sorry I forgot ) sanded and coated. It all came out better than expected with a minimum of dust. OK. First off they answer the phone. They get to you to give you an estimate lickety-split, and that doesn't even start to cover the awesome job they will do getting your floors looking so nice. They know their business and best of all they are a customer driven company and they're not happy if you're not happy. Excellent workmanship from true professionals at a great price. My hardwood floor was old and dingy with no finish left on it. Even had some termite damage. We had our hardwood floors sanded and finished by Ace. The final finish is rough in many spots. There are even some pieces of debri dried in the new finish. They seem to value speed of completing the job over quality. Attention to detail was definitely lacking. If you want a good or excellent job I would not recommend Ace. read more

Review is overdue but I wanted to be sure I wrote our wonderful this place was. I found them online which was scary to me because I usually like to use recommendations from people I know. I received a quote from three places to provide leopardprint rugs on my stairs and they came in the quickest and the middle of the prices. Long story short everyone from the owner, Troy to the person who installed the rugs and his assistant were amazing. They stayed until the job was done and it is so beautiful I could not be happier and I'm going to do the rest of my house with these people as well. They work with me on every aspect and were true to their estimate. I have never had such a good experience with any kind of contractor or person coming into my house to do work. We are on a schedule just like everyone else, between work, kids, getting dinner on the table, etc., and our time isn't any less valuable than yours, Troy. Will not recommend to anyone. They called the morning of the appointment to tell me they would not be able to get to me that day because they had people call in sick. But found out that they were just behind on other jobs. So needed to take extra time out of work so they could eventually finish the job. When asking for some compensation as to the extra time I had to take out of work. They said the price of the job is the price of the job. No, I'm sorry maybe there is something we could do for you. Not only does Troy, the owner, always answer the phone, he gets back to you in a timely way with costs and timing -- and then his crew ACTUALLY SHOWS UP WHEN PROMISED. The price is fair and the quality of their work is outstanding. Ace has installed and refinished a number of wood floors in our home using a variety of materials and has done a fantastic job with each. We did some of the work (2 levels in our house) 4 years ago, and another major project replacing the floor in our foyer and home office just now. Amazing job. First off when we called for a quote Tom was at our door in 30 minutes. No pressure completely laid back. ( my wife hates pressure sales). Not only was the sales staff patient with us as we made our choice, but even the installers were great. They answered any questions we had. We need to refinish our hardwood floors. Called Ace owner gave us a quote. Assured us he could do the job as we had problems before with the floors. Contracted them to do the work. Sent out 2 men not himself. The floors were terrible! Did not know how to sand maple properly, grooves everywhere. Put first coat of poly down, bubbles everywhere! Called the owner and asked him to come out to see what the problem was. He said he would not come out but quit the job. Said he was going to "cut his losses"! Never saw the job his men had done. Asked him again to come see them and he repeated that he was done. Bad business person! So if you would like to have your floors 1/2 done, well they are the business for you! The work is excellent, and the price is the best around. Bought unfinished wood from them and had them finish existing floors in the house. I have very few issues with the actual final product. The worst part of this company is Troy - he is rude and very unprofessional. Ace was the sub-contractor.Not hired by me) Troy is totally dismissive, nothing is his fault. I have heard every excuse you could possibly imagine from him. ( It's not his fault he was only the installer, he says)There is NO customer service. I am trying to get theses floors fixed and he just keeps putting me off. Now he just hangs up on me. I know nothing about floors and I had one day to get a room done before furniture arrived. We called Ace and they were there the next morning. In four hours, I had a gorgeous new floor. The crew that came was professional, respectful and explained everything. My house looks better and more clean than before they arrived. Tom came out to give me a quote within an hour of calling. I ordered wood the same day (Friday) and the shipment was in and crew started at 8:30 Wednesday morning. They were on time, worked quickly but diligently and got the entire job done in 2 days. Their crews are big, everyone is nice and the place was left in great conditions. I was expecting the walls and baseboards to see some damage and there really are only a few paint touch ups needed. Troy ALWAYS answers the phone and was great to work with. I had my floors refinished about a year ago. There was a 6' x 2' section in our hallway that wasn't quite right. I called Troy to let him know about the problem about six months after having the floors done. He assured me there would be no problem and that they would come and fix the problem. Not only did he answer the phone personally, but he decided that he would re-do ALL the floors that had previously been done so there wouldn't be any discrepancy in the finish between the dining room floor and the living room and hallway - all this was done WITHOUT a hassle on my part, the floors are now PERFECTION, and he honored his warranty without question. I would not hesitate to refer Troy and his company Ace Wood Flooring to anyone who is thinking about having their floors refinished or new wood flooring installed. Things started out great. They gave me a very fair estimate for brazilian cherry flooring. I wasn't around when they did the work which I should have been! When I returned home, my house was a mess. Pizza boxes, random nails and trash were everywhere. The baseboards were all beat up and the floor looked really mismatched in color, possibly not even all brazilian cherry! When I asked him to come out and inspect the job, he came over right away, but immediately got on the defensive and made no apology about the mess. I also found out when I called the wood flooring company that my flooring was discontinued so there was nothing they could do. The floor eventually evened out colorwise, but the customer service was horrible and he didn't care about the job as long as he got paid. I would never recommend them. read more

These floors were in very tough shape, not having been finished in the 30 years we have lived in this home (they have always been covered with carpet). My wife and I requested quotes from (3) installers. We were not necessarily looking for the least cost rather we wanted results and flexible service. We selected Ace. From the quote process, where the right questions were asked of us( verses other bidders who just put a number in front of us) and clear answers were provided to ours. Everything was explained and more importantly, Ace would work with us. We were doing the entire upstairs which meant moving furniture from one room to another and then doing the empty room and repeating the same process until done. It took us six months...delays because we were also trying to find area rugs at the same time. All our scheduling requests were met with no hesitation. The completed product is beautiful. Very unhappy with their work! My floors were finished in two days- that sounds great except when dealing with poorly sanded, uneven floors,swirl marks and big pieces of dirt in the finish. I pointed out the problems to Troy the owner who tried to deny his workers did anything wrong. This company is about speed and not quality. They use LENMAR moisture cure urethane in two coats, should put down three. It is sold at Benjamin Moore, I put down the third coat and the floors look better, which shouldn't have needed to happen after paying good money to this company. If you hire them, watch them like a hawk and don't be afraid to call out their mistakes- because there will be. read more

Yes they did show up same day to give me an estimate, Yes, they scheduled the work to be done fairly quick, then the problems started, the crew showed up and all of them looked stoned out of their minds, I should have called it off then, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. They sanded and sealed the first day, I then asked about having a repair done, and that added a day to it, which I have no problem with, then they returned to do another coat, when I came home it looked terrible, I called Troy and asked if it was the final finish and he told me yes, I asked him to come take a look at it and he said he would and brought a crew with him so I must assume he knew there was a problem, he agreed that it didn't look the best, so his crew would do another sand and coat on it. I had not paid for the job yet, so I did settle up with him then in cash. He assured me it would look perfect when they finished that day. I cam home later that night, and saw the result, it did look better, but still no where near perfect, I stayed off the floor for a day or so to make sure it dried.The final product, not good at all the finish was not consistent, swirl marks from the screen between coats. As I continued to look at it closer there are uneven marks from the sanding, deeper gouges from the drum sanders, so the final sanding was poor before the finish, there is dust and other grit in the finish, and areas where the last coat was missed in the corners and along the edges. read more

A few years back, I contracted Ace Wood Flooring to install hardwood floors in two bedrooms in my home. From start to beginning, I have never witnessed such excellent customer service. Troy, the owner, advertises the company slogan, "We answer the phone," and boy, do they ever. ALWAYS! I NEVER called and did not have the phone answered promptly, and after business hours. And whoever answered was always ultra-helpful, polite, and indulged my many questions. When arriving at the showroom, I was given expert advice on all aspects of my flooring selection, from cosmetics to practicality, color, finish, etc. And the installation was flawless. Not a shred of sawdust after they left - it was as if they had never been there, other than the beautiful, gleaming hardwood floors that had replaced my former ratty bedroom carpets. And Troy followed up later to ensure it all went well. It was over two years ago and the floors still look brand new. And the price was beyond reasonable. I cannot recommend Ave Wood Flooring highly enough for any project you choose to do on your floors. Highly professional, and good people. A+++++! read more
