A Yelp event introduced me to some amazing new Alberta distilleries so today I went on the hunt for…read moresome Eau Claire and Rig Hand products. Downtown Liquor was a bit challenging to find (it's actually on the lower level of the Cambridge Lofts building) but it was worth the hunt. A new business, they've only been open since October and their vision is to provide Edmontonians with unique and harder to find beer, wine and spirits (similar to Sherbrooke Liquor but in the downtown core). If your tastes run to Coors Light or Barefoot wines this may not be the place for you but if you're feeling adventurous you need to check it out! I was delighted to find a few products I've been searching for - light tonic water, Blindman Brewing's addictive blackcurrent kettle sour, and Eau Claire Distillery's newly released and incredibly delicious canned gin & tonic and EquinOx Mule bottled cocktails. Thomas was really helpful and knowledgeable and he gave me a tour of the store and gave me a sample of a new BC-made Caesar mix to try - Simps Caesar. It was SO GOOD, spicy and flavourful, and it's also free from MSG, gluten and it's vegan! No longer will my shellfish allergy hold me back from drinking Canada's favorite cocktail! Downtown Liquor is constantly expanding so if you have a product you'd like them to carry let them know. They also carry several different growlers, perfect for summer patio parties (if summer ever arrives). I'm excited to go back and browse when I have more time, I have a feeling I'm going to need a bigger fridge

In this day of containers, shipping's pretty cheap So there is not a reason for a price to be that steep. Liquor International is right on Stony Plain I called, he said he had it, and there it would remain. LI's a rather run-down store, both inside and out But they carry lots of wines, liquors, soju, stout. Parking is quite easy, the place not hard to find, Their prices are quite reasonable and service very kind. The store clerk knows his alcohol. They're open 10 to 10, When I need a brew or wine, I will go there again.

This liquor store gets 4 stars not because it is a particularly great place to shop but because it…read moreis the only place in Edmonton where I can buy Georgian wine which is the best wine in the world. Once you try Tsinandali (white wine), Saperavi,Khvanchkara and Kindzmarauli (red wines), you will understand why Georgia is considered one of the top producers of wine. Liquor International carries both Georgian wine produced for domestic consumption (in this case, the wine is the real deal) and wine produced specifically for purposes of export (this wine is cheaper and of lower quality). Make sure to ask the sales associate which is which, but basically the price tag tells the story. A bottle of real Georgian wine will cost about $50. Cheaper alternative created for export - around $25. If you are eager to try Georgian wine and there is none in stock, the sales person will write your name down, and call you when new stock arrives. P.S. For no apparent reason, Liquor Interntional accepts Canadian Tire money.

Last night I got the opportunity to visit & experience variety of wine tasting in the presence of 5 leading wine importers from France, Italy, Australia, South Africa, Argentina with a detailed explanation how the wines were manufactured, country, regions of origin, how to choose wines for special cuisines a must know thing by a wine enthusiast. I enjoyed the event very much and appreciate the demonstrations & cutometers experiencing of wine tastings facilitated by the company representatives as well as the owners Alison & Grant's warm & customer friendly approach towards all those present. Thank you, Harry, for a well-coordinated event organized to boost the appetite of wine lovers.

I prefer to come here when I'm looking for something special, like a gift. Their specialty is wine, but you can still ask them about other things. We've taken their advice on tequila and rum, and so far no complaints. Today, I went in looking for a very specific beer for a wonderful computer geek who fixed my incredibly temperamental piece of...Dell. Anyway, I found the Innis and Gunn type he likes, four different kinds, and 'Trooper' from Robinson's Brewery, named for the Iron Maiden song. They ranged in price from $3.23 to $5.42, which is decent in my opinion. In fact, this goes on the Christmas List, because I'm going to be grabbing more later for stocking stuffers. Of course, if you're looking for something super cool and pricey, they keep the $400 champagne on the highest shelves behind the till.
