This is an unprofessional company lacking any understanding of how estimate, buy, install or…read morecomplete a project. We met with a company rep in their showroom and were impressed by his knowledge and approach to the project. We discussed what we wanted and he listened and developed a design. He gave us a certain amount of confidence they they could execute this job. At the time of signing the contract, we were introduced to the project team: project manager, accountant, and the owner. we signed in January with a contractual commitment to begin in 6-8weeks as cabinets and flooring were ordered and delivered. that would have meant a start date of March. March came and went and we were told the start date would be pushed back to April, then we we're told May. We liked the guys and finally had a hard July date to start. As demolition of the floors in the house was begun, the owner told us that his company went through a reorganization and, while he mentioned only one staff departure, we discovered that all employees were no longer working for him. He did not hire replacements. It was just him. He had no idea what he was doing. The contrary was signed in January. I worked with the initial rep as we refined the design in anticipation of it being ordered immediately. The owner knew nothing about the job and didn't even have a folder regarding our project. Cabinets were not ordered, flooring was not ordered - and when the flooring did arrive it was the wrong style. We were back on square one. We would have canceled the whole project with this company, but they had a portion of the budget and we were concerned we would not get it back. A professional, experienced company would have ordered the cabinets, floors, and other materials immediately. This assures that it is bought at a current price and not be impacted by rising costs or tariffs on items made overseas. it would also facilitate the consolidation of materials for a complete project installation as opposed to stringing it along for weeks. After being told demo would start in a designated day, workers never showed up. this went on for a few days. They finally showed up, worked thtee days and cleaned up nothing. ceramic and cement debris was everywhere, on windowsills, in sliding door tracks, in HVAC vents, and in the yard. This was demolition of 1000sf of ceramic and wood floors. All construction debris was contractually supposed to be hauled away daily. We waited weeks. Because the wrong flooring had been ordered a new order had to be placed. It took three weeks for that flooring to arrive, so we lived in a dusty house on a bare cement floor. The flooring arrived and we had to wait again for workers to show up. They failed to show twice and showed up the week after we expected them. They installed the floor planks. They then installed baseboard molding and were splicing together smaller pieces for areas 8ft and 10ft long. This project had a budget of tens of thousands dollars and they were performing like inexperienced DIY amateurs. The flooring people had to come twice: once to fix the errors and then to fix the errors of the first fix. The most telling evidence that Elite Luxury was a sham was when we heard the flooring workers fighting with the owner because they were not paid. This is a red flag in the construction industry. A toilet was removed to install the floor and we bought a new toilet to replace it. The toilet was installed, but wobbled. We asked that it be corrected immediately and weeks went by with no action. In that time, the caulking around the base separated leaving large gaps. Two weeks later we were told the worker would be there Thursday (no show), Friday (no show). The Friday we expected the worker to return cabinets were delivered and old kitchen cabinets demolished and removed. In the process, these allegedly experienced, high-end builders busted a sink water valve without realizing it. It leaked all day and flooded the kitchen requiring new flooring to be ripped up for the repair. The owner was completely disengaged from the work and only showed up to beg for payment, even when no work was done. Over the course of two months, workers were only in-site 7 days. They never worked the contractual hours and generally left after three or four hours - never completely finishing anything. The owner never supervised any work and never was on site to talk to workers. He did come once to look at floors after workers told him it was done. He wrote us to tell us it looked good and only needed touch ups. Baseboard molding was butchered during the installation and notch cuts in floor planks were visible. He thought it looked good. Throughout the project our yard had a growing pile of debris and repeated calls went unanswered. Communication was atrocious, unprofessional, and demonstrated a complete lack of consideration. The owner violated contractual requirements numerous times. We fired them with a loss of funds.
