Seriously they have it all. Lawn care all the way up to its own paint section. In the far back a key station to get copies of your keys made. I was too shy to take pictures because I was the only one in the store. It's easier to snap shots when it's busy and all eyes are not on you. Quick in and out for painting tape. One person says one thing and another does another. My rake handle broke, the manager Lee approved the exchange, no other comments, I get to the register and Hollie asked for a receipt, she's like she owns the place. Lee comes up and says its policy but did not mention I needed a receipt when he approved. He said she said, I did get it exchanged, finally. Spoke to ACE corporate, they mentioned the owner would be in contact with me, I'm blue in the face from holding my breath-still waiting. Terrible customer service! We went in, and asked to purchase several samples, and for them to cut a color cut by 25% for one blue color. Well, the extremely rude, and short-tempered attendant said that they do not cut paint samples! You have to purchase by the gallon in order to have it cut! Ridiculous when Dunn-Edwards and Sherwin Williams cut paint all of the time without hesitation or an attitude. We will not be returning to purchase paint from Ace Hardware on Yarbrough in El Paso, TX. What a shame because Benjamin Moore is one if the best paints out there. Not recommended! read more

Took a boiler ignition system as a reference so that we could get the exact same one. Once there we were helped by 2 people that were trying to find the exact one. What bothers me is that we ask to make sure it is the exact same and the assured us it was. I recently shopped at the ace hardware in El Paso Texas (2200 N Yarborough). I retired from the army less than a month ago. I was told the military discount was for active duty only. I guess my 29 years of faithful service don't matter anymore ‍ I have shopped there prior to retiring, and the woman at the register, typically seems inconvenienced by having to help customers. I won't be shopping at ace again. Sure hope the $3.50 was worth it. So worried about dimes that they have lost dollars.... This lack of customer service is why Lowes and Home Depot will eventually run them out of business. read more

Very poor customer service. I've shopped at Ace on Yarbrough for many years, but will never go back. I took my sewing scissors in to be sharpened and Carlos ruined them. They wouldn't even cut. I took them back and Brian, the floor manager, was so rude and disrespectful I couldn't believe it. Waited to talk to Rusty, the manager, and it was worse. No apology, no store credit nothing. I didn't realize that I live in a really small town. The store closes at 7 p.m. That's crazy. Most people don't even get home from work until 6. I like ACE because of the personal service but bankers' hours are for well, bankers. I watched four people walk away disappointed. Now I'm condemned to go to the monstrous Home Depot. Here is the number one reason you never buy from Ace. They are independently owned...meaning that if you should lose or damage your receipt, you are out of luck even if the item you purchased is defective. However, I encourage you to call the corporate office to complain. This particular store is really crappy and they need to know how bad management there is. When something breaks or needs repair I usually head on over to a huge corporate home improvement store. But after going to ACE just once, I realized what those big shiny stores lack. And what those stores lack is actual human beings. The staff at ACE Hardware are absolutely amazing, and will not only help you with finding what you're looking for, but they'll point you in the right direction for what they don't carry. As for stock, they got just about everything I need to fix not only the small things around the house, but any project or build that happens to come up. Most Ace Hardware stores are staffed by friendly helpful people and I've been a loyal customer of the chain for many years. This store is an exception. The bad attitude of the three employees I interacted with was surprising. Both of the floor staff I spoke with seemed to be bothered to even supply aisle locations for the items I asked about. Then when I finally was able to cobble together a solution for my project and approached the checkout counter I was confronted with a horrible combative clerk. Not one friendly word spoken, unbelievable. I just moved to this area and would have been a valuable customer of this store, but I will never shop here again. The management probably has the same attitude as their staff and I suspect that is where the true bad attitude starts. So I went into this ace hardware 2 times. The first time I was greeted by an ace employee and was even helped right away. I am a 26 year Navy retired disabled veteran. I asked if they gave a veterans discount and the lady at the counter said yes. The second time I walked in there was no one to helped me and I had to walk around the whole store to find what I was looking for. I then went to go pay and this time it was a guy that was at the check out counter. He rang me up and I showed him my retired military id and he right away said that's a retired ID we only give discounts to active duty personnel only. I told him I had already been in here and they gave me a veterans discount. Not sure what planet this guy was from but he shut me down very quick. After I left the store I did some research online and ace does give military discount to active duty and retirees. So I think they need more training on what military discount is. read more

We had been to the store previously to check out their Benjamin Moore paint and bought a sample. It was quite pricey but I wanted that color. So we went back yesterday and got there 8 minutes before they were to close. A gentleman was helper a customer who had no clue what he wanted for a finish or the type of paint. Them here comes a short white woman and asked in a rude manner if we had been helped. I said no and she told me we're closing at 6. I told her I wanted 5 gallons of paint. She continued by saying that they didn't sell 5 gallons. I thought why couldn't they sell 5 gallons...is there a limit. She went on saying the cash register closes at 6. It was evident that we didn't rub her the right way. Somewhat felt discriminated since we were not white. Well she did me the biggest favor because each gallon was running about $55. Home Depot matched the paint and cost $85 for 5 gallons and the service was outstanding. Sometimes it's best to take your business elsewhere if you're not of their liking. read more

Ace is great small hardware store to shop.BUT....There is always a rotten apple in the bunch. The employee Brian (tall balding older man) is not a good to person to deal with. Very cocky and was annoyed with me asking questions. Told me my AC pump is out of warranty due to water damage (which I accept) Told me my pump was to powerful for my ac. He asked what kind of unit and size pads I have?...I said I didn't know because its my mothers home. I said that is the pump that came with the unit (Master cool is 2 years old)..he then said no it didn't because master cools don't use that brand (so he was calling me a lair) He seemed annoyed about that and decided to walk away while I was asking what kind of pump should I purchase. I had to go ask where did he go because I was still speaking to him..I found him in a isle pricing merchandise. I said I was still speaking with him and that he disappeared on me...he seemed more annoyed and asked again what size pads I have...I said I didn't know...At this point I told him he looked too busy to help me and was annoyed by me asking for help. I said to forget it and I will figure it out...he just turned around and walked away. He just has a poor attitude and poor work ethic!
