When I first arrived, everything seemed to be OK. I had all of my documentation and was ready to…read morego; however, the white female associate started questioning if I had a joint account with someone because I transferred money to them, which was shown on my statement. I told her no and that my account was separate. She took my information back to who she said was an assistant manager and said I had to come back the next day when the "big boss" was there. I asked her if she could verify it with my bank, and she rudely said, "NO, THEY WON'T VERIFY ANYTHING! You have to come back tomorrow!" I came back the next day and was seen by a different white female associate, and my loan was approved. I paid my loan in full last Friday, and I wanted to re-borrow. I was told by a male associate that I couldn't re-borrow and that there was a note in my account in red letters to "TALK TO THE MANAGER." I called the store this morning and spoke with someone who I assume was the manager. I told her what happened. She asked if I was late paying on my loan, and I told her no. She pulled up my account and couldn't find any notation or reason for the denial. She asked if I had another loan out, and I said I didn't. Then, she told me she "discussed" it with one of the other associates but that she COULDN'T EVEN REMEMBER what the "issue" was and then said, "Well, if you're 'x-ed out,' it must be for a good reason, and you can't get a loan here again." WTF?! I have no other loans, I have a valid bank account, and job, yet, the manager couldn't remember "the reason" why I couldn't reborrow. I think either one or both of the white female associates were being racist toward me because I'm a black woman. Payday loans are bad anyway but sometimes, you need extra money to get by. I recommend Ace or Payday America. At least they treat you with respect. DO NOT go to Express. Bad customer service, high chance of dealing with very rude, unprofessional, racist employees!
