I tried for two years to get a formal estimate. The owner even came to my house to review the…read moreproject and take measurements. He even said they could start before road restrictions lift in the suburbs, and he would have an estimate for me within 3 days. Granted it's not a huge project and requires some work for a small retaining wall to level the area, but to just not even respond is very unprofessional. I could not recommend if that is the integrity of their business. EDIT (3/24/22): It turns out they were communicating with me via a typo in my email address. So in fairness they did provide proposals on 2/25 and 3/2. However when I called and asked for an update on estimates on 3/8, I did not get a return phone call which led me to believe there was no estimate. I bumped up the review rating from 1 to 3.

We met Bryan through a landscape designer we used and hired him to do our front walkway several…read moreyears ago. We were very happy with the job--and actually still like the work. So when it came time to replace our driveway, we asked for a quote from Bryan. Of course it was not an inexpensive venture. So three years ago we hired him to tear up our concrete patio and driveway to replace with concrete and stamped concrete. His team worked very hard and we were initially very impressed with the work. However, after about two years we started to notice cracks appearing. I hired him to seal the driveway to hopefully slow or halt the cracks from getting worse. His team came and slathered on quite a thick coating of sealer which didn't stop the cracks from getting worse and in fact made the driveway incredibly slippery. Over time I became increasingly frustrated by the cracks and how more were appearing and getting larger. Two independent contractors said these cracks should not be occurring if it was poured correctly. In fact, his website states that his concrete won't crack because he installs it correctly. Well, I recently contacted him and he simply stated that we only had a one year contract. He didn't offer to stand behind his work or offer any kind of a solution. Just that our driveway was out of warranty. Of course we are very frustrated, but ultimately do not care to work with him again.

ACI Asphalt & Concrete - ACI puddle that we enjoy all year, especially when it is an ice puddle. Wrecked the corner of the large door as well since the ice backed up

Poor quality, do not stand behind their product, and they flat out lie. I would strongly advise…read morethat you avoid this company. I had a long asphalt driveway put in by ACI, it was a long driveway and was a DOT blend that was supposed to support heavier vehicles. Just as the installation crew was finishing up I immediately called out that it looked like there was a low spot near our pole building, but they said it was good and had plenty of slope. Turns out it wasn't good, there was a huge puddle days later after our first rain. After being ran around in circles for years (YES YEARS). The only "repair" they did was when they came out without any notice and torched the spot to try and fix it. I came home to what looked like a car fire burn in the asphalt, now a scorched driveway with a puddle. Fortunately, I had held back paying a portion of the final invoice ($4,413). Eventually was told they would get it fixed with concrete for "close to the remaining balance owed" ($4,413), well they never did. I have attached a screenshot of that actual email. The last two times I spoke with the President, Justin Pomerleau last fall, he told me they would have it done before winter. I also have a screenshot of an email from him reassuring me of this. They never did and also stopped responding. Now I have to go the legal route because I am getting it fixed on my own dime, costing me more than $9,000 after deducting the remaining balance I owe. The puddle is a large ice puddle in the winter and I have had people fall, luckily no major injuries yet. It also damaged my large door on closing because of the ice buildup. Very frustrating and it has wasted so much of my time. They gave so many excuses before finally admitting they were responsible for correcting it. Too many excuses to list, but here are a few: ~It was out of warranty, but I had proof I was repeatedly contacting with the issue since the week of install, they agreed. ~There wasn't enough slope, but every company that has come out (including their own rep from ACI) said there was well more than the 1.5 degree min. ~They tried to separate themselves from the company they merged with, but yet the ACS logo was on their emails next to ACI. Obviously, they are one in the same. I can go on and on. Look at the photos and correspondence I have attached. (I omitted some information because I didn't feel it was right to give their email and cell phone details.) You can see their own words that they lied to me. You can also see the puddle, the scorched asphalt. I tried to take the high road, gave them literally years to get this done, but they are NOT people of their word and I wanted everyone to know, or at least be warned, so they would not end up being another victim.

Mike A and the team at ACI are a pleasure to work with, and they do tremendous work! For any…read moreasphalt or concrete needs, ACI is the way to go. Highly recommend!
