Threaten kids w $35 fine if they didn't come to scheduled drives, but Courtesy instructors can waste kids (parents) time then kick the kid out of class for standing up for themselves. They couldn't even get the students scheduled for required 6 drives. At the end of week three, of four week course, my student only had 1 drive finished due to no fault of her own. I complained to them a week prior to the missed drive. Then after both issues, their resolve was to remove my student from the class the day before the written exam, during her last week of the course. Immature and unprofessional. Mr Schultz is the instructor who didn't show up for the drive. Mr Purwin mocked me in front of two other students for being confused and upset when Mr Schultz didn't show up. Mr Zeller didn't seem to know what was going on but at least he was kind. Their supervisor won't answer my calls (Dean Trudell COO of Courtesy. Schultz shared his cell w me but Dean won't answer... surprise, a cowardly COO). They punished a kid for adult mistakes, had 0 accountability. Don't recommend this program. We invested 3 weeks in to their course, so this was done out of spite, to punish me for complaining to them about their unprofessionalism. This is abuse of power. It's disgusting. I wouldn't trust my kid with these men.

I searched high and low for the perfect driving school. I called several companies and asked too…read moremany questions. As a homeschool mom I am extremely picky. I wanted someone who did not cut corners for the sake of a paycheck. I also wanted someone who would gladly invite myself or my husband into the class and on the drives. I desired someone who was trustworthy and moral. My driver instructor smelled of alcohol when I took the class years ago. I wanted someone who understands who the parents are and are equally respectful of that. Mostly I wanted someone that would take this seriously and really teach my child all she needed to learn to be a successful driver. And my expectations were more then met. I live in the sticks and have to drive over an hour to get here. But it is worth it!! I hear what our local kids get out of drivers training. It's usually not very good. More of a distracted course where they learn very little and don't even see a highway. At this academy Chris does a great job. I've referred her to my homeschool and non-homeschool friends and family members. She met all my crazy criteria and then some. She is a very kind hearted lady. And she takes her responsibilities very seriously. No corners cut. She understands if she misses something, she has to live with that. I will be back in a year with my next child. Already have 3 others planning on attending with me. She is great!! I highly recommend Chris!!

Went in to check the place out, after seeing some less than impressive reviews online elsewhere…read more Everybody was super nice, the place was clean, reasonable rates, and like the other reviewer mentioned, better hours than the other driving school I was considering for my son. The woman that taught was really nice and did a great job teaching my son how to drive (he can parallel park better than me in our dodge 1500). Id say definitely stop over if your considering a class for your child. They are local, did good work, and I really appreciate their patience with my old fashioned ways! Thank ya!

My experience (March 2023) with Wilderness Christian Testing involved my 16 yr. old nephew who…read moreneeded to complete a "Road Test" to finish his driver's education and obtain a Michigan driver's license. Robin & Mark who operate the business were terrific to work with. Robin was efficient and professional regarding scheduling the test and Mark was equally polite and professional in administering the road test. The cost of the test was very competitive with other companies offering the same service. I do know that they also offer testing for other licensing such as CDL's. I highly recommend Mark & Robin's business if you live near Mancelona or Kalkaska, MI. I live in Traverse City and would recommend making the drive Kalkaska.

Everything was so delicious, we ended up buying a couple house made chèvre and feta. They also sell different goat soaps and lotions. But my favorite part was walking around the property and hanging out with all the barn kitties, chickens, and goats! The staff here were so friendly and welcoming. I'm definitely adding this place to stop back to in the summer.
