The following year I took to another firm and it cost me 360.00. Honkamp seems to tax the previous years amount they charge you and then adds 10 percent each year. Would give a negative 5 stars if I could.

The next morning she called and said it still hadn't been paid and she didn't get any email and that I had to straighten it out with PCN. She sent them to disconnect (I avoided it, but they threatened if I didn't pay right away they would be back and they would shut off my electricity). PCN said it was paid to Boscobel Utilities, so I called Ellen back and she HUNG UP on me! The nasty city workers were right back to disconnect, so I paid cash. After a few weeks, a different employee called to verify the card number; the money was in their general ledger. She did apologize, but Ellen has never apologized and is still short with me! I have been a customer for about 18 years, but this was not a good experience for me.

My father had some property in Richland Center and Joe filed the tax return. I called him to ask…read moreone question: Should I file a joint tax return. He did not say there was a fee to ask the question, and he did not give me an answer. The town has a population of about 5,000 people (suburban stats.org) So it's not like a big city where a top/corporate CPA might charge a fee to answer a question. Then he sent a bill for over $200 and when I called to ask what it was for he had no answer and there was no proof that he had done any work. I told him I would not pay, and he loudly and aggressively interrupted with "Shut Up" and it was VERY intimidating. I live in Oak Park, Illinois; but Richland Center is practically a suburb of Madison, only 45 minutes away, and 3 1/2 hours from Chicago and about 4 hours from St. Paul. It's a beautiful region of the country, and I can't believe that is tolerated. He also commented on my financial standing stating that he had "worked over 40 years" and that 'I had 'all this money.' Very inappropriate and unprofessional for a CPA to be commenting on a person's financial standing. And, no I am not well off. Disturbing, and digesting as well as vulgar and aggressive. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
