I have always had my taxes done by a friend in Cleveland Oh, and just never took the time to find a new one. I scheduled through email and quickly got a response back. (I had emailed a couple places and this is the only one that actually returned my email) I scheduled a time and I think a week out to meet with them. When I arrived, I met with Nichole Thousand and we discussed my current situation and what she needed to take over my taxes and help me with other financial needs. I must say that I was very impressed and that she has made the transition very simple and easy and I feel full confidence in her services. Everyone I have met there has been extremely helpful and polite. If anyone still needs to get their taxes done, or needs advise for their business this is definitely a phone call you need make. I've never met Jan Roberg, but I spoke with her recently. I came upon her office's phone number…read morewhen I was researching some unnecessarily convoluted and asinine tax laws that would only happen in the US of A. I felt some stress upon discovering that I may (or may not) be fined for not filing something that until today, I didn't even know was a thing. But as I've learned from a lawyer friend of mine, "ignorantia juris non excusat." For future reference, an adult pleading ignorance (i.e. "I didn't know") isn't afforded the same levels of leniency as when a child does it. So I called Roberg Tax Solutions, because the local (Oklahoma City) tax advisers are either not quick at responding, or are not willing to provide any insight without seeing dollar signs first. I got her voice mail. I figured that was the end of that, but she called me back within five minutes. I have never before had the pleasure of speaking with someone who was so helpful with tax advice. Along with the advice, I caught a hint of her kind personality, and she helped ease some of my stress. It's disappointing that I had to contact someone from out of state to get the help I needed, but at least I got the help I needed. While I don't live in St. Louis, I almost wish I did just so I could deal with a fantastic tax professional like Jan Roberg.

Before…read moreI found Carol to do my taxes every year, I was totally overwhelmed with all the pre-tax planning binders I would receive from one of the "big CPA firms" -it just seemed like tax prep overkill!!! I had just taken an early retirement from a major corporation and as I started a small business, Carol walked me through what expenses to keep track of for start up and through the first year. Carol is a MASTER at keeping things simple and helping my creative brain understand the logic of how tax reporting works!! I use her services throughout the year, as well, when I have a question about certain investments and how they will impact me at tax time. She also fills out all the city/county/state small business forms through the year that are absolute "greek" to me!!! Earlier this year, when I was preparing to retire, I ran everything through her - she's just an integral part of my "team." What a wonderful person and great communicator she is! It's rare these days to find someone who delivers both top-tier expertise and exceptional customer service, but they absolutely do. Unethical, rude, disrespectful, insulting, and unprofessional CPA. Has treated me and others with…read moreutmost disrespect and incompetency. Wasn't transparent about pricing and charged much more than quoted. I told her we would be parting ways after tax season, as my S-corp return and personal have not even been started on yet (S-corp due March 15, they filed extension March 14 but didn't give me any updates, today is April 5) about which I was not notified, and she had the gall to fire me as a client 10 days before individual taxes are due because I set boundaries with her. Her emails included insults and personal attacks, and her office did not return everything to me that I sent them. Cites reason for the incompetence is that an accountant left her firm. Perhaps if she weren't so ugly to clients and employees, people would stay. Here are some comments she made to me just today via email (not counting previous encounters): When I asked why they didn't call about discovering my returns haven't been worked on: "I am not curt. I am still confident, and that's why we are working our tails away instead of crying over it on the phone." "Can you please stop panicking for no reason?" When I questioned the hike in pricing and lack of transparency about it (important to note I told her when I hired her that I am new to being a business owner and need some guidance, which she agreed to provide): "I am also certain you realize it took time to answer all your questions in person or over the phone. I understand that you came with very little knowledge of how the S-corps work, but it is not my place to educate for free." This is just a sampling, and there were were pleasant interactions as well. However, there is an overall air of superiority in her communications. Mila seems unable to take accountability for her choices, and deflects them onto her clients when there are negative consequences. For example, I am aware of a former client who fired her as a CPA due to her behavior. When I brought this to her attention, she advised that she fired the client, who is no longer welcome back. I'm aware of more another individual who plans to fire her because of their experiences with how rude she is. She may be good at math, but she is terrible with people.
