I visited this notary to have closing documents notarized during a home sale. Ms. Francis Clay, the…read morenotary, stated she couldn't proceed without two witnesses. I informed her my partner was in the car. She insisted I still needed TWO witnesses. When I asked why she or the two other employees present couldn't serve as witnesses, she replied, "They're working, and I don't pay their salaries." I mentioned that I'd never encountered a notary refusing to witness, to which she suggested I try the UPS across the street. I'm unsure what to make of the encounter. I contacted Ms. Clay in advance via email so she was expecting me, I was polite, and the office was empty. It seemed to me that she simply did not want to work. I did end up going to UPS across the street and they had no problem notarizing my documents. The notary there served as a witness, as it is legal per FL law. I would be weary of a place that has "PROFESSIONAL" in the title but seems unaware of or non-compliant with state laws. Or Perhaps you should call in advance. Be sure to ask if they're in a the mood to work before visiting. I swear every word in this review is honest and true.
