Susan is sharp, creative, fair, and does an excellent job at ensuring that both parties have agency and are comfortable. The notion that some couples elect to litigate custody and property in the wake of a divorce, when they could have reached resolution amicably by working with Susan, is beyond me. If you are sick of bickering, and want a civil, adult-like approach to settling your divorce, I highly urge you to work with Susan!

Divorce is an emotionally difficult time and the legal process is overwhelming and confusing. From…read morethe very first phone call, Susan was terrific at explaining how she worked, her history with VT legislation and the co-parenting class, her role as a mediator working with couples, and her professional expectations (how many sessions, costs, payment, etc.) She was always incredibly pleasant to speak with and her calm demeanor and active listening skills set the tone for mediation sessions to be effective between parties even while emotions were high and disagreements might happen. Another thing I appreciated was her willingness to share stories of her own personal life to relate to us or to help us see life beyond the 'now' so that we could make better determinations as to what to put into our agreement and how to say it. Susan allowed a lot of ownership over the process and of the agreement come time for the revision stage and was gracious in receiving our many changes. I am grateful that we had Susan as a mediator and would definitely recommend her. The only thing I could provide constructively is that while Susan is excellent at listening and extremely engaged in the dialogue happening, she does not necessarily have a chance to write everything down. People should be prepared to take their own notes and be active participants in the process so that come time to review the agreement, parties are not forgetting or leaving out key items that were discussed during sessions.

However his attorney services were so poor my husband and I could cry. Throughout the course of it all I sent him every photo, document, and supplied him with all of the information he would need for court. Yet were charged hundreds of dollars for him just to receive and view the photos (which he MESSED up several times in court). My mom and husbands father were testifying to things they had seen. Rob told us in a meeting he'd reach out to both of them to consult. He never did AND as they were on the stand he asked my mom the question he was supposed to ask his father. Another time the judge asked if there was any abuse (THE REASON WE WERE IN COURT) and I'm on the stand shaking my head yes to Rob and he says nothing further and sits down. He seemed preoccupied, unfocused, and unorganized the ENTIRE time. When we got the bill it was so disappointing. We made it VERY CLEAR during our initial meeting that if we were to come close to reaching our retainer max that we be told and made aware so that we could decide whether to hold off or try to come up with more money. Well after court was done the secretary, Alexandra, informed me we owed an additional $1,500. I was so frustrated. I was being charged hundreds and hundreds of dollars for Rob to email me a few times to organize a meeting and for him to call the Sheriffs Dept to check the status of a serving. While "politically correct" the secretary was unhelpful and brushed off my concerns. She's probably have been a better lawyer for us. I will never use Rob, this office nor recommend them to ANYONE.

The judge quickly threw the case out once we had a hearing because of his extensive knowledge and expertise in this matter. He made a very good case. He was very kind, helpful, and confident and quickly got back to me when I had questions or concerns. I had plenty of questions and concerns and his replies were right to the point with comforting overtones which really helped my state of mind in these challenging times. Life is hard enough without having to worry about police injustice so it's good to know someone will go to bat for you when injustice strikes. He was also reasonably priced which just puts the icing on the cake. I would certainly hire him again if I ever had to!
