The card was declined, or failed to go through, something which happens to everybody all the time, but is a little embarrassing. Without missing a beat, the stony-faced assistant, (whom I believe to be a manager) said, eyeballing the client, "you've been using it too much". The poor customer, who, no doubt, was astonished, stuttered something about making transfers, while the queue all waited in silence. You could see the manager internally rolling her eyes as, again, stony-faced, she cut the customer off with "I was joking". Nice.

She asked nothing about her, what type of wedding we were having, what style, colours etc. my Mum was interested in wearing. I have never encountered such appalling service. We left feeling insulted and angry and there is no way my Mum was going to give this woman her business to buy such a special outfit for such a special day.
