The next thing is that you will get told frankly and honestly about what needs to happen which I appreciate. This was not just a doctors visit it was a learning experience. After talking to the doctor you agree on a treatment plan and you get a nice half hour to chill out while the needles do their thing and the doc mixes up a batch of herbs for you. I was expecting a tea to brew but these were actually a powder. I came in with several issues the most pressing of which would take about 4 months to resolve. But in the meantime I also had an ear ache and soar throat which was treated through acupuncture as well. I felt better at the time then worse when I left also my ear was nicked a bit and had a bloody mark. Took a Claritin when I got home and felt better again. I might have been down for the count but am certain that the acupuncture helped prevent it. Although the goal is overall wellness this is a major commitment both lifestyle and diet not to mention the cost. Ultimately you need to decide what price your willing to pay for health and when and how you wish to achieve it.
