Nobody is legally required to give their SSN to any doctor. I was refused to be seen by this clinic…read morebecause I wouldn't provide them with it. Mainly it is used for credit purposes so they can hunt you down and report you to the credit bureau if you do not pay. I was paying ahead of time. No one and I mean NO ONE should EVER give their SSN to doctors or hospitals unless you want your personal information stolen. The young and very cocky man behind the window gave the lamest reason that "We need to put something into the system" and that I wouldn't be seen unless I give them my SSN.. Hey moron, how about typing in 000-00-0000?? " This only showed me what their primary interest is in. Glad I didn't waste any money or anything regarding my health there. Just to let you know, I have NEVER had an issue from a doctor's office or hospital about refusing to give my number. Til now. I would avoid unless you prefer drinking the kool-aid like the rest of them and have a doctor who doesn't respect your privacy issues..
