Just writing another recommendation for Pioneer Home Repairs!!…read more I had another small job I needed completed - and to be honest - I wasn't even sure if what I wanted existed - but Zachrey Conner came up with a great solution which not only gets the job done - but was economical because he was able to use my existing hardware instead of having to start buying a bunch of expensive stuff I didn't need! We have a screened in porch on the back of our house - and we have a medium sized dog who we like to give access to both our porch and the fenced in back yard. We keep his bed, along with his food and water bowls on the porch and our solution up to now has been to prop open the screen door so he could go in and out. But about a week ago we had a pretty windy day and the wind caught the propped open door and bent it all the way open - which damaged the mechanism on the top of the door that is used to prop the door open. I went to Lowes to price a new screen door (thinking that was our only option) and while doing so I thought to myself - why dont they make a doggy door for within a screen door?? I looked at Lowes, Home Depot and even Amazon and did not find anything like what I was thinking would be a perfect solution - because I knew even if we replaced the bent door it would likely be damaged again in the future if we continued to prop it open. So - I reached out to Zach and he literally showed up at my door to talk about what I wanted within 30 minutes of texting him (like seriously - who does that)!! He said he was finishing a job near by and so he came right over. We talked about what I was wanting and he said he thought we could modify my exisiting door without too much trouble and he then told me my original door wasn't damaged - I just needed a new part for the existing door - and that part cost less than $20!! I was thrilled. We setup an appointment for him to return to do the work and he finished the job a little earlier today. Once again I am thrilled with the outcome. He installed the new part to fix my door and customized the original door by removing two vertical slats to the right hand side of the door and created a frame to support the changes in the actual screening - which he cut and added a metal piece to the bottom of and then added magnets in the frame of the door itself so it now swings open for my dog to go through but will stay closed to prevent bugs from entering an open hole - just like a doggy door is supposed to do!! Now I can use my door but keep it closed all while allowing my dog to come and go multiple times per day without having to physically let him in and out of the porch or prop open the door!! Zach is such a wonderful handyman! I highly recommend him for any repairs or maintenance work you need done! He literally does it all (replacing toilets, replacing floors, treating the concrete, finding problem areas (mold) and replacing it, identify issues (wrong breakers placed in the house), painting rooms, replacing doors.. you name it and he can do it. What I appreciated the most about him is that he has strong communication, great work ethic and will get the job done no matter how long it takes. We had an issue or two with our ceiling fan after the project was done and he immediately came out to take a look - both at the fan and at the how it was wired (turns out it was the fan). He's definitely reliable and would take care of the job until the client is satisfied. His pricing is also very reasonable. I've only known him for three weeks and has already given him three projects. I'd definitely rely on Illia again in the future.

Let me tell you about my experience with Dimitri. I bought a new home, and I had a extensive list…read moreof projects. From chandeliers to lights to faucets to valves... I funneled thousands of dollars into projects over many weeks. When he first quoted me, he said his going rate was $60 per hour... expensive, but if he was reliable and got the job done, I didn't have a problem with it. He does do good work, but I need to warn you, he is extremely messy, and whenever he finishes a project, he will leave trash everywhere and not clean up anything. One of his messes was so bad he did not release he left his own tools behind. He was reliable until this past weekend. He did not show up to install our oven so my husband and I did it ourselves. At 2 pm he told us he was on his way. Then comes my deck steps project. This is when everything changed. He spent 4 days sanding 7 steps and 2 handrails. Shows up between 10-12 and left at 5-6 daily, total hours worked 26 hours (verified with cameras). At the end of day one I asked him how much I owed him. He told me it's best to do price at end of project and he was using his going rate which was quoted at $60. Should have been a major red flag to me, but I was like OK $60... he takes a lot of breaks, smoking cigarettes and talking on his phone. Ok, people need breaks, no worries. Yesterday he finished work and it looks HORRIBLE. Even he knows it's bad and says he will come back and paint more. Now here is the kicker, for 2 handrails and 7 steps, it was $3,400!!!! He said it is $3,200 labor and $200 labor. $123/hour!!!! I shared my shock with him and he said paint is hard and dusty. Not $123/hour hard... he absolutely took advantage of a customer and lost multiple others in the process. Because I was initially impressed, many neighbors wanted to use him which will no longer be happening. He came down to $3000 as a favor. Whatever. I paid it and asked him to never come back, he is no longer welcome here. Look at his replies to other comments, he says leave a 5 star review or no review. Unfortunately I will not be bullied by a person who took advantage of me and forces a good review or none. Use his services at your own risk and know that painting is $800/day which is 6 hours, not even a full day. Absolutely insane.
