Recently, the government gave small business owners access to apply for the PPP loan. I rushed to…read moreapply right away with my normal bank, Wells Fargo, I was quick to learn they were not accepting PPP applications, I hurried over to try to apply with my secondary bank, Chase...they were only accepting applications if you had a business account, I only had 3 credit cards, a personal checking, and personal savings, but that wasn't enough. BOA, was my 3rd bank and once again shut down. The 3 biggest banks left me hanging when I needed them the most. I was personally referred to Citizens Bank by a colleague. He put me in touch with Sam Nunn and his team. They were really responsive and sent over what they needed from me. I acquired all of the paperwork and emailed it over. Within a few days Sam had responded requesting a few changes and a few extra documents. After receiving those items, I was approved! I'm sure Sam thought I was crazy as I was filled with joy and excitement! He handed me off to Jannis Laird to finalize the paperwork. She was lightning fast with her responses and I got all the paperwork signed, notarized, and sent over night to their physical branch. She confirmed receipt and helped me set up my online account. Within hours my account was funded! This is the way I wished the big banks would treat their customers. But I realized because of this Pandemic, if you want to be treated like a human being, you need to work with human beings. The people at Citizens have given me hope that there are still good people out there working at banks. I know this review was very long but I want the team here to know how much they mean to me. Because of them I'll be able to retain all of my staff and hopefully get through this craziness.

Applied for a loan with good credit scores , a current loan with the CU and good income . We got…read morethe run around for more than 2 days speaking with several different officers that made us feel like we where wasting their time. They ran the wrong amount we where asking for , claimed we "we didn't need the loan", and said we weren't good enough customers. No loan officer gave us a legitimate reason for their decision. The manner that I was spoken to was a first for me as disrespectful, belittling, and extremely rude. TRUST ME there are plenty of other institutions to pick from in amarillo SO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE . We applied for a loan somewhere else and got approved same day for more money.

I've had an account here for 30+ years, but will be closing it ASAP. After accusing my employer of…read moreshorting my check and turning down a promotion in the process, I checked with the bank. Apparently, they withhold a car payment every time a check gets deposited. So I unwittingly paid twice this month and missed out on that promotion. Last month they deactivated my debit card without notice because they wanted me to come in and switch to a chipped card. No call, email, or letter. My card just started getting declined with the message "card expired" even though it was not expired. Then, after switching, my card was declined several more times while I was out of town and after 5:00. There is no 24-hour help line and I almost had to sleep in my car. Every time the explanation was that something had been set up wrong on my new card. But it kept happening. There were overdraft fees and lots of embarrassment. And all this time there was way more than plenty of money in my account to cover the charges. Employees were minimally apologetic.
