This home was one of our favorites on Zillow, very eclectic, and we were very excited to see it come back on the market after being in escrow. We thought the current owners had similar tastes to ours. But I spoke with Matt Shepherd, not even for 10 minutes, about this listing on Monte Vista. He treated me like I was a criminal, like I was wasting his time, calling about his listing on Monte Vista. Since this property had dropped out of escrow, a question about "why?" seemed appropriate. Matt came into the conversation bringing prejudices about buyers as "bottom feeders" that in my case are 180 degrees off. He assumed I was a lawyer or "investor," which was very, very wrong. My wife really loved this property. We were thrilled to think we had found our place and it was available again. The purpose of my call with Matt was to get more information to push me to drive up and see this place. But Matt made the conversation as though I was in an interrogation room as an arrest. What a painful, distasteful phone call that was. I just can't imagine doing business through or with this person.
