I can guarantee you that if anything were to occur in the future, we will never step foot in your establishment again. Please see the letter I wrote to the head honcho, with absolutely no response whatsoever. This was also just the tip of the iceberg. Throughout this stay, there have been a multitude of issues. To be quite honest, it was very disconcerting. That being said, none of it was towards the actual care team. Everyone that I personally encountered were extremely kind and helpful. This is where we are going to get into the details. Your Director of Case Management, Karen Cook, is absolutely wretched at her job. I'm not going to mince words. I believe I have spoken to her, via phone, twice. Please keep in mind that one of these was during the care conference on September **th, two days after admission. The other was prior to admission. She wrote in an email that she tried to call me a few days later, and that she left a voicemail. Surprising, as I received no missed calls, or a voicemail in the time period that she said she called. Not once did she try to call back. As stated, the only time I received a phone call from this woman was within the first two days of my mom being there. The care conference included her, and at least one therapist. Since then, I have received ZERO updates from any therapist of any kind. Not only that, but some of the emails received from Karen came across as condescending and rude. So, that favor may have been returned. She is absolutely not clear about anything. Today, I picked my mom up to return her to *********, where she resides in the memory care facility. I didn't get a care conference of any kind. Was handed papers to sign by the nurse (who was very nice), and basically shoved out the door. I do have all emails from Karen, if you would like me to forward them. I am beyond appalled. NO updates on therapy!? Nothing?! Phenomenal. Now, I will say my mom is a hard headed broad that thinks she doesn't need sort of medical device to help her move around, when she absolutely does. That being said, I received 5-6 phone calls stating that she had fallen. Oon 3 or 4 of those, she was ok. Another one, a portable xray machine was called in. One was when she was transported to the ER for multiple tests, of which a diagnosis of a hematoma was figured out. On Tuesday, I came down to see mom, and curiosity got the best of me. I asked the nurse to verify how many times mom had fallen. She looked it up, and guess what.........only 2-3 (I cannot accurately remember how many she said, because I was so baffled), were actually documented!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT!? So she fell a multitude of times, but only thought to document a couple of them? That is asinine. So, to say the least, I am writing this so you can see what is going on in this business. This is absolutely deplorable. These are family members. These are loved ones. Would you be ok with this happening with a member of your family!? Especially an 85 year old woman with dementia/alzheimers!? Yeah, me either. Thank you for your time.

My doctor, affectionately called "Dr. E." is among a small handful of my very favorite physicians in my 80 years of life. The nurses and CNA's were all kind, helpful and quickly responsive to all of my call lights, requests for help and questions. My physical and occupational therapists were wonderful and enjoyable to work with. Far less important but still greatly appreciated is the physical environment. Bright and cheerful, lots of windows. If I ever need the services of another rehab center in the future I will ask I can go back there. I am sure there is no better facility. I recommend the Center at Northridge in Thornton Colorado to anyone that needs a skilled nursing facility to help them heal.

He refused to give me employees name so I could not proprely complain about the insensitive behavior. He obviously doesn't care himself, he didn't adequately address or explain the callous behavior. Family's are already worried about love ones and uncertain about their mental health. These so called professionals need to have a higher level of compassion when speaking with concerned family members. Katie Seidman Director of perforomance and improvement does not have contract information. No surprise there.

What really sets this place apart is that it's also a spine and rehab clinic. Dr. Groelz even helped me address some posture issues and an old exercise injury. If it wasn't for him, I could've died. After testing was done, they figured out what was wrong and they're incapable of intubating me. And, Flight for Life needed to transport me that same day, hospital is incapable of dealing with urgency of my care. My last two ED visits were so annoying! I've been admitted, multiple times and duration of my stay, I've always been released, prior than anticipated. One nurse was unable to get an IV into my vein correctly. It was bleeding out onto the floor, then tried to leave mee, while I'm bleeding all over the floor. My husband said, you need to fix the IV, my wife is bleeding all over the floor! You can't just leave her like that!! At my last hospitalization, I was assaulted by one of the RNs! She had the audacity, to tell me, I'm not entitled to break through pain meds! I told her, look lady, I've been on these meds for decades! I have fairly extensive knowledge of my meds, my illnesses and I know, what I'm talking about! The scary part, she didn't have basic knowledge meds. Plus, dealing with her, made myself exhausted! She fought with me, instead of checking and speaking with my physician and/or physician on-duty! Plus, it was recommended, I was in receipt of antibiotics, through IV, due to secondary infection. The physician ordered it, as soon, as it was decided, I would be discharged early, to go home. I was getting ready to leave, here comes that RN, insistently, made attempts to give it to me, it was the same antibiotics, same dosage, twice! I warned her that I've already, received such antibiotics and she didn't want to listen to me, I adamantly refused! Now, if, I was not in full state of mind, this nurse would've over drugged me! I have an immunosuppressed system, my liver was already failing, my GFR# continues upwards & at that time, we're unaware, my liver is diseased. We were diagnosed with cirrhosis, I returned to my specialist and she corrected me, stating it was diseased, not failed. I've got already complicated, rare kidney disease, stage III, diagnosed in 1999. I continue to go to this hospital because it's about 3 mi away from our home and by the time I need to get medical attention, this is the closest medical facility from our home. Everything else it's about 10 mi or more away from our home. The rooms are single occupancy and food is very good for hospital food. However, I suffered a stroke, fell down a flight of stairs, broke a few ribs and suffered a seizure before the EMTs got mee into the ambulance and they suggested we go to Good Sam's instead. So, they took mee to Good Sam's for hospitalization, in the ICU, because they're capable of treating me, instead of returning back to Avista.
