Well, I never received a text from COA, and when i tried to call back twice after waiting fifteen minutes, nobody answered. I suspect the person was avoiding answering because of the caller ID. Needless fo say, I returned to San Juan and told my team that we'd postpone our dinner meeting until I found somewhere else to eat and discuss business plans. Again, i get the feeling that Deaf people here in Puerto Rico are treated like we don't exist or that we're an inconvenience--second-class citizens, as if my money isn't good enough. As if we do good enough to afford McDonald's, it's an attitude that I've encountered in other parts of the world: India, Brazil, Thailand, to name a few, where accessibility doesnt exist, and Deaf people and people with disabilities are given low expectations.
