We keep our son busy with lots of different activities throughout the year exposing him different interest in hopes of raising a well-rounded young man. When he finds an interest in something, we follow his lead and encourage that interest. This time it was dance classes. Academy of Dance is conveniently located to Robins AFB so this made it easier to get our son to class as my husband and I are active military members and we work on base. In addition, I understood this business was a military friendly business. In all, our experience was not as great as others. The class was a year long and the amount of funds you pay throughout the year, you'd expect to perform no matter what. We had a conflict where my son had a robotic showcase from a summer camp he was attending for a week, which happened to conflict with dress rehearsal at Academy of Dance. We asked a staff member if we could reschedule a dress rehearsal with the teacher beforehand separately. We were told in a very disrespectful way, tough cookies you miss rehearsal, you don't perform. No efforts where made to come up with a solution to remedy my son rescheduling dress rehearsal after all the classes he had attended throughout the year. Not to mention all the funds, over $600+ dollars down the drain. They didn't seem to care at all the investment we had placed and were comfortable in blowing us off. One last thing, they are not military friendly at all, we were chastise for not attending class on Memorial Day. Last I checked it was a federal holiday and a holiday we take seriously as military members. On top of that we were out of town, but we got the third degree and was told we should have read our information packet. I have been more than respectful and my son only missed very few classes throughout the year. The staff is rude and disrespectful and doesn't give a hoot about anything else but your payment and the performance. I have never been so disrespected as we were ignored the whole time. They never spoke kindly to my son or me and my husband throughout the year. When when spoken to, were asked condescending questions and making condescending underlined statements. We never felt like part of a family. There was a new teacher in the middle of the year who gave my son some relieve as he talked to him regularly with respect and made my son feel good by believing in him. This teacher was the only highlight of this experience. I would not recommend this place, if you have other commitments as they are not flexible at all to work around any conflicts you may have and no refunds. read more
