Without this facility I truly believe I would still be in a coma. I have come so far after being here for 2 months. The staff has been so kind . The food they serve is quite good and I cannot recommend this facility enough. I have made so much progress during my time here. I am now walking on my own and able to speak again. If it wasn't for the recommendation to go there I would still be in New Jersey making no progress. Joy in the admissions department actually drove to New Jersey to access me this rehab. With her perseverance I was transferred the next day. I will be eternally grateful for the kindness and compassion of this facility.

She was not only incapable of doing any physical therapy, but was unable to feed herself or lift a cup of water to her mouth. We went to see her and her lips were dry and chapped so we brought the water straw to her mouth so she could drink. Her eyes stayed closed and she moaned and cried the entire time we were there. I tried to ask her questions but she couldn't answer us. She was like this for days. They eventually sent her back to the hospital where she awoke several hours later with no recollection of what had happened. I feel sorry for the patients that have no one to advocate for them.

Compared to other local outpatient facilities , I find Step One to be the best for a number of reasons. The staff they employ all seem to radiate positivity, professionalism and genuine care for the clients they provide therapy for. I am in recovery for alcoholism and drug addiction, and this facility has helped me on so many levels. This substance abuse therapy should not allow or subject these young teenage girls to have to hear the emotional, physical, mental, sexual and substance abuse issues of older men or women over twice their age. Shame on you. It makes me sad and I wonder how these girls will continue with their future and what they're truly learning about their society and the people who are supposed to be helping them succeed and cope. It's time to make changes and be advocates for all of your patients and to educate your facility in age and gender appropriate therapy.
