I am very happy with their work. They do a wonderful job of taking toned, dirty and 'splotchy' and otherwise damaged Japanese woodblock prints and restoring to mint condition. They also do a good job repairing small tears. I have used them to restore three prints, and 100% plan to use them again, and soon. The photos are of a print I obtained that had issues. I paid very little for hit. I now have a beautiful print. It now has decent value, even after paying for the restoration. As a bonus, Executive Director Justin Burruano and his team are nice folks. I normally don't give gushing reviews, but they deserve it. Also, as another reviewer pointed out, they are honest. If they look at it and know stains or whatever can't be removed, they will tell you, without taking your money. That means a great deal to me as well. I by chance found a rare old copy of Rimbaud's "A Season in Hell" which is a favorite of mine. The book Itself was in fine condition, but the dust cover was highly damaged--the spine was actually gone, only the front a back portions remained, though terribly brittle. I bought a very large (55"x8") panoramic photo of the Shanghai Bund taken about 100 years ago. Unfortunately, it was in very poor condition with large tears and holes. I sent it to ACA and they did an excellent, expert restoration. I highly recommend them. read more

Having work with this company three times, they saved the day twice. The third interface, the saved the day by just being honest enough to say "no can do safely". Never fun to hear, I would rather be told "no", than have someone wing it and experience a "fail", enabling the ruin of an artwork. Today, my wife and I picked-up her great aunt's pastel portrait of two Grecian women that ACA Paper Restoration had restored. The painting looked amazing! The ACA team removed the acidic backing stuck to the painting; eliminated rippling; removed acid burn; filled in missing pieces; and eliminated pigment loss. They deacidified the piece, patched tears, mounted the painting to archival backing, and retouched areas that had pastel loss. All of this was performed at a fair price and more than met our expectations. Their work is of the highest quality because they truly care about the pieces they handle. They are an anomaly in a time when people no longer care about craftsmanship. Therefore, I would recommend them to anyone who has paper items requiring restoration. ACA caused loss of paper and coloring of letters on cardboard poster,in worst shape that it was prior to their work restoration

Unacceptable! It was my first time going to this office for restoration of an inherited old painting. On the top of the stairs a dog came in front of me barking, with two other bigger dogs behind him. I have an allergy and pathological fear of dogs and I almost fainted. Although tempting I will spare the details of what I experienced. I felt I was dying. In the same situations in the past, two times, an ambulance was called and I was taken to a hospital. Now, on the top of that, I have to take my medications for allergy. It is an office for the public and it is unacceptable dogs to walk around freely. If you want to have a business you have to take care of your customers and not make them die. There should be more strict regulations for such irresponsible dog owners. This is unacceptable and as I have more paintings for restoration, I would never consider this company that almost killed me with their carelessness and irresponsibility. read more
