Let me tell you, this hotel is located in the absolutely perfect spot if you are there for the nightlife. It is right in the heart of downtown Bentonville. And to our surprise, the farmers market that spans for blocks, every Saturday 7a-1p, is literally right outside the front doors. Okay, lets get down to it. Beautiful hotel with fun and artistic decor. Beautiful, clean, large rooms with all the amenities; even robes and a Nespresso maker. More than most hotels. Nicest staff on earth, even the cleaning crew was delightful. I truly felt like a guest of honor at this hotel. It also has the cutest restaurant and bar inside. The drapes were hung so beautiful and the black chandelier is gorgeous. My favorite part is the bathroom. It has pink floral wallpaper and it's so quaint. The whole room was filled with such detail and intention. Michael is such a wonderful cook. There were homemade scones and cinnamon rolls served with eggs, bacon or sausage and they also had little parfaits. I had to have everything because it smells so delicious! Totally worth it to stretch my waistline. Joana mentioned they plan to open a bed and breakfast in France! With the wonderful couple hosting, you know I'll be there! I was standing outside to learn at 11:05 that they closed at 11:00 p.m. the gentleman at the desk said he could not go get my vehicle unless I waited 2 hours so he gave me the key to go hunt it down in a seven car parking garage. I was not too happy. As I was walking to the parking garage I noticed the vehicle that look like mine on the side outside the parking garage. I decided before I walked up and tried to find it in the parking garage that I would set the alarm and see if that one was mine. It ended up being mine and very grateful that the staff member working that day was nice enough to pull it out for me. It would have been nice if they would have left that information with the front desk but still very grateful that I do not have to search a seven-story parking garage to find my vehicle... they did not close out my tab until in the morning the whole time prior to that it kept saying my car was being delivered which was a little odd.

I loved the high powered rain head in my room's shower. I had a lovely shower before checking out this morning. I also loved the sink basin. It's the bowl type rather than the sunken basin that you commonly see in hotels. I didn't see a microwave in my room so heads up if you like heating food or beverages up in your hotel room. I would definitely stay here again whenever I'm back in the area. I recommend considering Aloft for a good night's rest in Bentonville. They also have a nice bar area with classic pool table nearby. One more minor detail that I enjoyed about Aloft is that they offer smaller carts for transporting luggage from car to room rather than the bulkier ones hotels offer. I liked their carts for ease of steering and transporting luggage. Be aware that they have brakes! Don't forget to squeeze the levers to release the brakes when going forward. This visit didn't go quite as smoothly as my first visit. Although my overall experience was still very positive, we did run into some glitches along the way. I do have to say that the staff was wonderful and responded to the several phone calls we had to make to the front desk in a very timely fashion. Everything was fixed to our satisfaction. My last visit five months ago was great because I discovered that La Quinta inn and suites did not charge an extra fee if you wanted to bring your dog. Unfortunately that policy has changed and now they charge $25 a night and if you stay more than three nights in a row, they cap the fee at $75. Cleanliness of the hotel seems to a priority at this property. It seemed like every time I had to walk through the lobby or down one of the hallways. I would see someone mopping the floors or vacuuming or cleaning a window. The room we were in did have some minor cleaning issues, however. The hotel is located on a fairly busy street, and depending on where your room is located, it can actually get quite loud at times. The suite that we were in was at the very front of the hotel, as close to the street as it could be. if you are a light sleeper, make sure to request a room that is not so close to the road. There is no restaurant on premises however, you are literally surrounded by restaurants. There is a Starbucks right next door to the hotel. The center of Bentonville is only a couple miles drive if that. It's a very good location to be. Overall, I feel that I can recommend this hotel quite highly. It's very clean, the breakfast buffet is great and the staff maintains it constantly. the exercise room and pool area are clean and it's a great place.

We too found that the owners were gracious hosts and the breakfast was delicious. I want to add two thoughts. First, the neighborhood was very quiet with lots of well kept and interestingly landscaped old houses, and it was a safe pleasant walk to Crystal Bridges and downtown. Second, if you wanted to drive to Bentonville with a friend who didn't want to go to Crystal Bridges, your friend would be just fine hanging around Laughlin House watching movies on their nice TVs, reading, or sitting (at least in the Spring) in their garden while you visit the museum.
