While she did make some improvements in her mobility she was not able to transfer out of her bed or wheelchair without assistance. She also wasnt able to walk independently with a walker during her last PT session yet they still seemed to think 8 hours of in home care upon returning home would be adequate. They sent us with a wheel chair that she cant even use because due to her arthritis she cant bend her knee enough to use the foot rests!!! They didnt give me a list of equipment I needed to get (aside from wheelchair, walker, and bedside camode) when her in home caregiver arrived this morning (her first morning at home) she asked about a lift belt and she was shocked they didnt send her with one. My mother ended up back in the ER after a sleepless night for both of us with her in so much pain. Encompass refused to take her back and her physician there blatantly LIED to her ER Dr about her abilities prior to discharge. The DR in the ER absolutely didnt belive them as she has eyes on her now and can see how in pain she still is. What they have done is criminal and I am FOURIOUS that they would out right lie to cover their asses. Believe all the one star reviews and try somewhere else, the hospital is now working on getting her transferred somewhere else with, hopefully, competent staff. STAY AWAY is my only advice here.

My loved one had a stroke, & came here for rehabilitation. After almost 5 months, she is still unable to do much for herself because they hardly ever do PT with her. They leave her laying in bed all day & don't help her with her room phone so family can contact her. & now that she has been moved to a hospital for blood transfusions (she never needed those prior), they have found an entire list of illnesses & diseases she didn't have or wasn't told about before. While in their care, with very minimal visitors, she caught COVID, 3 colds, C. Diff, pneumonia, & has an unknown kidney injury. They also never tested her for cancer, which they were told to do from a different hospital, & now it looks like she may have a mass on her spine. The fact that she went into this place fairly healthy, & now has a poor prognosis, shows you just how well they treat their patients. Honestly, more people should be looking into this place for malpractice.

When I went to pick them up a day later they were gone from his room and no one could find them or knew anything about them. Fortunately, they had put his phone and book in a locked drawer. It took two months to receive reimbursement for the stolen items. It seemed no one wanted to take responsibility for this incident. One case manager did speak with me and I think only her help got the reimbursement process going. Needless to say, we were not pleased with this center.

I was also seen by Stephanie who was great as is the team that runs the front desk. The one thing that did throw me off is that the location has some large PT tables where sometimes you are laying next to another person. I had not experienced that and it is not something I'm a big fan of. Still, the team at ProFlex is very accommodating and helpful so if you have any preferences, just voice them. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the care my husband received at the Adventist…read moreRehabilitation Center in Silver Spring.  Everyone is caring and focused on getting the patient healthy and maintaining a stress free environment so you can focus your energies on healing.  They all work as a team.  Dr. Thorpe, in addition to being an extremely skilled physician, he is thoughtful, caring and attentive. He makes you feel as if you're his only patient taking whatever time is needed to answer any questions and keep you informed of the treatment plans. My husband came to the center unable to walk because of spine surgery and with a diagnosis of a blood disorder.  As a result of Dr. Thorpe's thoroughness, it turned out that there was no blood disorder.  The usual blood tests provided inaccurate results. The physical and occupational therapists were equally caring and skilled. The therapies had him walking and slowly becoming self sufficient. The nursing care cannot be praised enough.They were always responsive to his needs and often checked in just to see how he was doing. Our care navigator, Ms. Enitan Macarthy worked to maintain quality care and made the transition home seamless. We owe a debt of gratitude to the entire staff for getting my husband functioning well enough to come home.
