There was a process to prepare the racks of food for delivery but the food was often cold by the time they completed the prep process in the common area. Due to limited staff - information on patients was not properly shared which caused service not to be consistent nor effective. Each time an issue was raised, I was informed that the weak staff personnel were "contractors" and not familiar with the process or patients ... no excuse - contractors must meet the same standards & provide the appropriate health care - is this a training issue or a management issue - unannounced audits should occur. On the weekends it was a ghost town offering bare minimum care and security. JR Aug 2026

While she did make some improvements in her mobility she was not able to transfer out of her bed or wheelchair without assistance. She also wasnt able to walk independently with a walker during her last PT session yet they still seemed to think 8 hours of in home care upon returning home would be adequate. They sent us with a wheel chair that she cant even use because due to her arthritis she cant bend her knee enough to use the foot rests!!! They didnt give me a list of equipment I needed to get (aside from wheelchair, walker, and bedside camode) when her in home caregiver arrived this morning (her first morning at home) she asked about a lift belt and she was shocked they didnt send her with one. My mother ended up back in the ER after a sleepless night for both of us with her in so much pain. Encompass refused to take her back and her physician there blatantly LIED to her ER Dr about her abilities prior to discharge. The DR in the ER absolutely didnt belive them as she has eyes on her now and can see how in pain she still is. What they have done is criminal and I am FOURIOUS that they would out right lie to cover their asses. Believe all the one star reviews and try somewhere else, the hospital is now working on getting her transferred somewhere else with, hopefully, competent staff. STAY AWAY is my only advice here.

My loved one had a stroke, & came here for rehabilitation. After almost 5 months, she is still unable to do much for herself because they hardly ever do PT with her. They leave her laying in bed all day & don't help her with her room phone so family can contact her. & now that she has been moved to a hospital for blood transfusions (she never needed those prior), they have found an entire list of illnesses & diseases she didn't have or wasn't told about before. While in their care, with very minimal visitors, she caught COVID, 3 colds, C. Diff, pneumonia, & has an unknown kidney injury. They also never tested her for cancer, which they were told to do from a different hospital, & now it looks like she may have a mass on her spine. The fact that she went into this place fairly healthy, & now has a poor prognosis, shows you just how well they treat their patients. Honestly, more people should be looking into this place for malpractice.

My wife believed she was having an issue with her pancreas as she had a case of acute pancreatitis more than year or so ago. The initial check-in was rather quick; however, my wife was not triaged until 6:05 PM. My wife still had a high fever with abdominal pains. Part of their triage includes a FaceTime with a hospitalist! That was a new one for us. At approximately 6:20 PM they took my wife back for a blood test and an EKG. After that was done, she was informed that she would have a CT. My wife was not taken back into the ER until 11:30 PM! It was a long time sitting in the waiting room, waiting for anything to happen. The nurse that we had was terrific she was very empathetic and thoughtful! Sometime after midnight, they came to take my wife for the CT. We spoke with a hospitalist, she seemed to be very thoughtful and knowledgeable as well. After the CT and additional bloodwork was completed, the hospitalist spoke with us, noting that her fever had passed, and the CT revealed no issues with her pancreas. Bloodwork overall was good so they gave her a clean bill of health for checkout. We left the hospital sometime around 3 AM. I would say, once you get in to see the doctor everything isn't as bad as some of the reviews here in. It's just the wait to get in! The room we were in, #18, was clean and well kept. My wife had to use the bathroom a few times and it was clean as well. Just wish that we would've gotten in the back quicker. That said, our nurse remarked how incredibly busy they had been for the last two days for whatever reason. Unfortunately, my wife's health has necessitated multiple hospital visits over the last 15 years. Some hospitals in California and Ohio, and now Maryland. With that, we think we have experienced the spectrum.

He makes you feel as if you're his only patient taking whatever time is needed to answer any questions and keep you informed of the treatment plans. My husband came to the center unable to walk because of spine surgery and with a diagnosis of a blood disorder.  As a result of Dr. Thorpe's thoroughness, it turned out that there was no blood disorder.  The usual blood tests provided inaccurate results. The physical and occupational therapists were equally caring and skilled. The therapies had him walking and slowly becoming self sufficient. The nursing care cannot be praised enough. They were always responsive to his needs and often checked in just to see how he was doing. Our care navigator, Ms. Enitan Macarthy worked to maintain quality care and made the transition home seamless.
