ZERO STARS!!! Do NOT bring your family members or self to this place!!! The staff is extremely incompetent, lazy, & does not take care of their patients. My loved one had a stroke, & came here for rehabilitation. After almost 5 months, she is still unable to do much for herself because they hardly ever do PT with her. They leave her laying in bed all day & don't help her with her room phone so family can contact her. & now that she has been moved to a hospital for blood transfusions (she never needed those prior), they have found an entire list of illnesses & diseases she didn't have or wasn't told about before. While in their care, with very minimal visitors, she caught COVID, 3 colds, C. Diff, pneumonia, & has an unknown kidney injury. They also never tested her for cancer, which they were told to do from a different hospital, & now it looks like she may have a mass on her spine. The fact that she went into this place fairly healthy, & now has a poor prognosis, shows you just how well they treat their patients. Honestly, more people should be looking into this place for malpractice. read more

The weekend staff is terrible. When you walk in all you smell is urine throughout the facility. Unclean and the place has not updated, since the day of opening The people that own this place truly show they do not care. I do not understand how the state of Maryland have so many unkept facilities like this. read more

ZERO STARS! Do not send your family here what so ever. This place reeks of feces, vomit, and is not sanitary at all. The beds are 2ft apart separated by a curtain they look broken down and very uncomfortable. My mother was dropped off at this place by the hospital and was basically strip searched on the spot. Its now day 2 and she still has not received her life saving medication. she has been treated disrespectfully and neglected. She called me on the phone today in tears about how shes being treated and needed to leave because of how badly shes being treated. Do not believe the 5 star reviews of this place, They are false. We are taking my mother out of this place today whether they let us or not. read more

The pictures are FAR from correct. This place is old and not kept well. The windows in my room was so dirty, you couldn't see out and some of the panes had cracks in them. The meals are a JOKE, not fit to eat. Now for the reason I was satisfied with Genesis, was because it was this or somewhere in PG County. I live in Waldorf and my children live in this area, therefore I did not want to go into (not told where) into PG County. Was thankful that Kaiser relented and let me stay in Charles County, even though this place lacks a lot to be desired. read more

This message is for Complete Care at La Plata, not Genesis Healthcare. The name has changed, but the extremely bad behavior continues! This place deserves NO STARS!! Honestly, this place needs to be closed to prevent anyone else to experience medical malpractice, medical negligence, and zero empathy in caring for their patients. My mother, Matter Tucker, God rest her soul, was admitted into this God-forsaken facility in June 2021 dealing with dementia, seizures, and a stroke. I visited my mother every day and noticed her health depleting physically and mentally at an accelerated rate. If I didn't make a daily presence, my mother wouldn't have been fed nor properly cleaned. My mother was under this HORRIBLE care for 6 months until her death on October 25, 2021. The staff left my mother on the nasty, dusty, dirty floor to bugs to receive medical care!! August 2021, the center informed me that my mother contracted COVID-19 and must be quarantined for 14 days. This hell hole placed my mother on the floor again in a staff member's office to recover from COVID-19!!!! In the short amount of time here, my mother experienced 2 seizures followed by 2 strokes! Why is this happening if the medical staff is supposed to I am still having trouble understanding if the medical staff is administering a medication that prevents seizures and high blood pressure, then why is she having these severe seizures and strokes so close to each other? The last stroke left her completely paralyzed and she was unable to swallow nor move her hands. A feeding tube should have been presented to me as an option in properly managing my mother's condition. Again, this place never cared and pushed me to let my mother go by administering morphine for comfort until her last breath. 12 days!! It took my mother 12 days to take her last breath without food and water!! 12 days leaving my mother helpless receiving little to no care!! 12 days left me physically, emotionally, and mentally helpless and defeated to say goodbye to my mother!! 12 days being mad as hell at this facility allowing them to kill my mother!! If anyone reads this, please prevent your loved ones from entering this place, they will die!! read more

Had the same experience as previous reviewer Darlene. P/T rarely given and had not even completed paperwork to admit mother, until discharge date 2 weeks later. Then staff refused to assist when time to leave. If you care don't send any of your loved ones here. read more

What a wonderful work experience for the last 10 years at Genesis LaPlata Nursing Home. Team work from kitchen staff, housekeeping, activities, physical therapist, management, nursing aids, nurses and doctors. Caring comes first and Genesis LaPlata cares deeply about their residence. This place is absolutely a disappointment. Dirty, filthy, unprofessional. I took pictures of my mother's room. I went to my car for Clorox wipes to clean her bedside table/tray. Bathroom disgusting. Broken furniture. She was there for P/T. After 24 hours she hadn't had any. Encountered a nurse that had a degrading attitude, which at that point my mother called my husband to come get her. She had no sleep. My husband demanded a wheel chair which at that point he was told that she could not leave he informed them that he was taking her and he was going to leave with her no matter what the Fiasco began to unfold as he was told she had never really been admitted this is 48 hours after the fact and that they would have to do paperwork to admit her first so then they could discharged her this place is an absolute joke I proceeded with follow-up phone calls four of them asking to speak to a director director of nursing Etc, no one has bothered to call me back please beware of any of your family members that have to go into this place pay due diligence this is no joke this place should be shut down. So sad to think this County has this to offer it's community. read more

I arrived here due to total left hip replacement. I was not allowed to use a walker to get from the ambulance Gurnee to my bed. Lucky thing I had my own cane. I am 6-2 and the bed was so small my ankles were hanging over the bed boards. The next day I moved into a new room with a bigger bed. The bed head raise control button was broken, the nurse call button was broken. Their no suitable chair in the room, what they do have is dinning room chair. Not comfortable if you just underwent a hip replacement surgery. The food is cold when it arrives. The coffee Luke warm. Ice tea with lunch and dinner every day. Gets old quick. On the tray table a previous patient stuck a used bandage on the support legs and support legs were filthy. Once I get a power chair delivered to my home I'm out of here. Some employees seem to care while the other half just here for the money. Don't let a friend or relative stay here. read more
