Excellent service and communication. The work was superb. Pricing was competitive. I highly recommend Absolute Painting.

Absolute Painting just finished a full interior paint job in our home. We have lots of woodwork and it was important to find a professional that would pay close attention to detail for this reason. CJ & his team did an amazing job; our home feels so much fresher and the work they did was wonderful. In addition to the great work they did, they were always on time, cleaned up after each day and were very professional. I also love that they are a small, family owned company. Without a doubt I give them an A+ and will definitely recommend their company to family and friends. read more

Absolute painting was recommended to us for a small paint job I had in preparing our home for sale. We made contact with them and the quote was provided via text after sending pictures and measurements. The job involved 3 different paint colors and the quote was provided via text. There was a pretty large range in the quote--low end to high end was doubled. I asked if the price included paint and was told yes. I chose to go with them because quality was an important factor and we received good feedback on them. We scheduled and Absolute had to reschedule their original date. We understood and we asked if there was something we could do to help such as getting the paint? Conrad said that would be a big help. Conrad and his father arrived on time and even suggested fixing a couple of ceiling cracks. I was impressed and I told them I would go to Lowe's and pick up the paint for the small area on ceiling. Conrad and his father were kind, clean and accommodating. Good people and we felt fortunate for the recommendation. They did a great job and we were pleased. Unfortunately, just as they were finishing up, my husband and I noticed a small ding in one of the walls. We brought it to their attention and Conrad's father said he may have done that with the ladder. They patched it, painted over it, finished clean up and we thanked them. We told them we were grateful for their help and we may be interested in having them do some additional work down the rode. It all just felt really good. The next day we noticed the area where they patched and touched up still wasn't blended but I thought perhaps it needed more time to dry since it was brushed rather than rolled (I know very little about painting). The following day I sent Conrad a picture showing it was still noticeable. He responded "Oh sorry, normally it blends but the wall would have to be painted" I told him okay and said he could arrange it at their convenience. He scheduled the repaint and showed up on time. He repainted the wall (34" wide 96" tall) and finished up quickly -it looked perfect. Then, Conrad told me it would cost $50. I was so surprised! I told him that I felt this was an error on their part and that I had no idea we would be charged. I reminded him that he responded in his text with an apology and made no mention of a charge. He told me his father said he didn't think he damaged the wall and that it was necessary to charge because there is a cost for them to come out from Wailuku (to Wailea) and if I would have noticed it before they left, they would have repainted the entire wall at no charge. I told him I didn't notice it because the paint was still drying. Conrad made no attempt to reconsider--even perhaps share in the cost. He would not acknowledge it was their quality issue/error. I paid him and told him I was sincerely disappointed. Quite honestly, I felt taken advantage of. I told my friend that recommended Absolute Painting and she told me they were at her home that very same day painting their ceiling. She lives about 5 miles away (not Wailuku)! For me, quality includes integrity. Using a phrase I recently heard--I don't mind paying a good/fair price for quality but I do not like to feel robbed. Well, it was a small amount compared to the full charge so it's not about the money, it's integrity. Absolute initially took ownership of the damaged wall and repaired it. They know more about blending/painting than I do. When I brought the issue to their attention, they apologized and told me they needed to repaint the entire wall. I asked them to do it at their convenience. They set the schedule and they were doing a large job about 5 miles away so I would assume that's pretty convenient. Lastly, there was zero mention of charge prior to repainting the wall. My neighbor entered our home when they were painting-she later asked for their name. I told her how well they did. I plan to tell her the rest of the story. Integrity is a key component of quality. They did a good job but "Buyer beware". read more

We contracted with Absolute Painting to paint our 2 bedroom/ 2 bath condo in Honokowai. Conrad and his team did a fabulous job. The paint job was flawless. The furniture replaced as found. Conrad and Absolute Painting proved their professionalism and dependability by showing up, completing the job on time and within budget. Anyone who does business in Maui knows that's hard to find here. I highly recommend Absolute Painting. read more

Absolute Painting was great. We met with Conrad and Yolee in the summertime and arranged for Absolute to paint our place while we were off-island in the fall. They were responsive, punctual, and professional every step of the way, even though this was probably not a big job for them. (Not a given in Maui.) Their estimate was thorough and reasonable. I had the sense from the first visit that Conrad and Yolee cared about their work and were intent on building a business with a solid reputation, and they didn't let us down. The condo looks terrific. There are no sloppy spots-- every line is clean. When they encountered unexpected issues with the quality of the previous paint job that would impact their work, they contacted me immediately to explain the delay and the steps they were taking to fix the situation. I'm especially impressed with how nicely the louvered doors came out. And when we were underwhelmed with a color we had chosen for a border detail, Absolute Painting promptly scheduled someone to come back to repaint that area. As a final note that could be helpful to people living in apartments or condos-- we live in a really *stuffy* condo complex where residents are always complaining about one thing or another, and contractor noise is often at the top of the list. Not only have we received no complaints from the time Absolute Painting was here, but our immediate neighbors made of point of telling us how impressed the were with the Absolute Painting crew's work ethic: they came in every day on time, worked hard, didn't blast music, and got the job done well. Definitely a A+. Thanks, Conrad and Yolee! read more

I just had a very strange experience with Absolute. They responded to my request for an estimate with a phone call and I quickly gave an overview of our project. One of the first questions he asked me was who else I was getting quotes from. I thought this was odd and told him I just started reaching out to people and didn't recall the names of the others. He abruptly told me he couldn't give me an estimate if I wouldn't tell him who else was quoting the job. I called him back to try to understand what the issue was, but got sent directly to voicemail. read more

Absolute Painting Review Our apartment at the Kaanapali Alii had not been painted since it was remodeled in 2004. We just completeted a 4 month shut down due to a major plumbing infrastructure project. Due to the damage and mess from that project, we felt this was a perfect time to have the unit repainted. Conrad and his crew from Absolute Painting had painted a friend's home in the Kapalua Bay Villas after a major remodel a couple of years ago. This friend, who acted as the general contractor during his project, raved about the job Conrad and AP did. We had the opportunity to house sit in this home during our shutdown, so we had a perfect chance to really examine the quality of Conrad's work, which was excellent. Having painted houses while in college, I probably have a pretty discerning eye. My wife arranged for Conrad to give us an estimate prior to our shut down. We didn't even get a second bid both because of the quality of the work we had witnessed, and the fact that the estimate seemed to be in the range of what our neighbors have paid. When our project was reopened last month, Absolute Painting came in. They did an excellent job with protecting our furniture and possessions. We continued to stay in Kapalua, but stopped in each evening after they left to check the progress. The paint job involved every surface including ceilings, and used flat and semi gloss latex, as well as oil based satin for doors and trim. They did an excellent job, particularly on the plantation style doors, which required some recaulking due to expansion and contraction of the slats and panels over the past decade. My wife and I feel as if the clock has been turned back a decade and we are in a brand new remodel. I should mention that they were extremely quiet, and the only hint they were there was from the after odor of the oil based paint. They cleaned up nicely and all we needed to do besides move furniture was vacuum. We have a very fine eye, and there were a few places that needed a minor touch up. Our unit is north facing, and somewhat dark this time of year. When Conrad and part of his team from Absolute Painting came back several days later, Conrad was equipped with a headlamp and found some additional places he wasn't happy with. Furthermore, when they came back, all our furniture, drapes, and artwork had been put back in. They again did an excellent job with protecting these items. We would strongly recommend Conrad and Absolute Painting if your home needs repainting read more
